My daughter has a Nintendo switch and she lost it for about a week. She found it yesterday and we had to put it on the charger. It charges up fine, but it won't come out of management mode. It said update so we did and said it was updated. Tried several times shutting it off and turning it back on. Still opens in management mode. Well her cousin did a factory reset and still same thing. She has no sd card in it. Was told buy one and dl the software into it. Now I have read everywhere and no where has it said to dl software. And now I find she doesn't really need one. So my query is how do I get it out of management mode so she can play it.
If you say "representative" to the automated menu tree, that can get you to someone quicker. I usually got a person on the phone surprisingly easily circa 2016-2019, and it was usually a very positive experience - which was refreshing.
If by chance you get someone that seems to lack the knowledge to solve it, don't hesitate to ask for a manager of tech support, or a senior tech support rep. In every company, there is always an array of experience levels, and there are always a set of highly experienced veterans with management level competency (in my experience).
Maintenance mode is supposed to happen when you turn on the console while holding both the + and - volume buttons down. Could you check if the volume buttons seem to be stuck or something?
@LostMom No need to reply to this, but CinnamonRobin(above) makes an interesting point. If your volume button isn't being pressed, maybe your volume button is broken and registering a constant press? Holding + and - of the volume button while powering on is how you enter maintenance mode. As mentioned in this maintenance-mode page on nintendo support's site: https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a...
