So I have never used ebay before. I have never really seen a need. But I wanted to get one of those nice modded GBAs with the fancy AGS 101 screen and improved speakers. Which they have in abundance on ebay from highly rated sellers.
But ebay rejects my credit cards. Both of them. Cards I use regularly elsewhere with no issue. I don't have a paypal and don't feel like making one for a handful of highly specific purchases. Ebay claims you can use credit cards like Visa or Master card.
Any ideas what the problem might be? I am basically shouting into the void because when I googled it, I got nothing helpful.

@antdickens so as it turns out, even if Ebay lists credit cards as an option - it is apparently sometimes just a lie. From what they told me, after e-mailing them back and forth many times, is that you need to have a and use a pay-pal sometimes, regardless of if the checkout lists credit cards as an option. I hate paypal and find it difficult to set up - in the end, I just got my mother to let me pay her pack and used her ebay and paypal. What a ridiculous and unnecessary hassle. Now that I have ordered my modded GBA and Everdrive, I don't think I ever want to deal with them again!
Anyway I wanted to thank you for the help, and mention you can flag this as resolved if you want.
@ReaderRagfish Nope, at least with certain sellers, you absolutely do need it. That comes straight from Ebay's customer service after bugging them through about 4 e-mails and at least 3 different reps...
