Topic: 2DS Freezes when SD is inserted, will not show up on extra data or software in settings

Hi! So a few days ago, I was having issues with my SD card slot. I dismantle my 2DS, clean the slot out and it worked like a charm. At this point I had just bought a whole new SD card (32gb microsd) just to be completely safe. Well I go to put the microsd in my laptop last night and it scratched it. Wouldn’t work in any device after that so I figured it was just the SD card. Bought a new one today and now it just wont work at all. Whenever I insert the new sd while in system settings it wont read. If I insert it while on the home screen, it freezes and wont let me move any buttons, I am wondering if this is a system issue? If theres anything I can do to fix this? Thank you:)

You shouldn't really be inserting or removing an SD card from the system unless it's turned off. What happens if you turn it off, insert the SD card, and then turn it on again?

@psychophiliac Make sure the micro sd card is formatted correctly. Use nintendo support directions if you haven't already. They've got directions for virtually everything. If Nintendo support searches & troubleshooting can't solve something, that's usually a good indicator that a piece of hardware needs replacing or fixing.
