This got me thinking... Why isn't Apple optimizing the Mac OS for the iPad? iOS makes the iPad nothing more than a glorified iPhone, but if they made a version of Mac OS for the iPad, they could turn it into a mobile PC.

Why do you think windows 8 tablets are running Metro in Tablet mode. OSX and windows weren't built with touch intput in mind so forcing them ends up badly.
Plus Mircosoft is doing it right with two types of tablets. The X86 tablets that run Metro and Desktop mode but are heavy and more like the older Tablets and are aimed at professionals.
Then you have the Windows 8 tabs running on arm. They're stuck in metro and can only go into desktop mode when plugged into a keyboard. These are more Ipad like and for the everyday person. .
WAT!

I'm a little worried that Windows 8 might negate all that I've learned about computing. I know there's the desktop app, but that seems like something only technologically-impaired old people will use. :/
I really don't see the point of having a dedicated MP3 player any more when I can do it all on my cell phone.
Trying to get music onto a cell phone is such a pain. Unless it's a Windows Phone or iPhone. >_<
Google music.
And why do you think its going to be hard to use WIndows 8.
When I think of the various trouble shooting I do with my computer, it seems like that'd all be really different on the Windows 8 OS. Like, the learning curve will be immense and I'll have no idea how to fix anything.
Edit: Ooooomg Google music. O_O You are an angel. Thanks. =D

Yeah I'm assuming they're going after the ipad crowd.
Google music is a life saver. All my music on itunes is sent to the cloud for me to use whenever. I'm just waiting for a Google Music app for Windows Phone 7 (google or third party made) and I'm jumping on the Lumia 800 (or whatever the U.S. one is called)

I love the Lumia 800. =D I'm probably getting an android device though, Virgin Mobile is cheapest but doesn't have WP7.

Google has Android, why would they put their music service on Windows Phone 7 or iOS?
That would be like Apple making iTunes for Windows Phone 7.

It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!

You don't know how google works. All of their offerings are open source so Anyone can build apps off the api. Google only cares about the Ad and user data they can get and stuff they can sell on their stores. Their's tons of non google, google voice and google apps . IOS has a google music app by a third party and there is one in development but it might now have the pin feature.

I got a Zune HD last year for my birthday, and have used everyday until I got an iPhone for my most recen birthday. I love my Zune, but it just isn't practical to carry my phone and another mp3 player. I am happy with my iPhone, but the only thing it has over the Zune is the Phone function and constant access to he Internet.
