So yea, I, for one, am definitely looking forward to Banjo-Threeie. I never played the Banjo games when they were on the N64, but I really liked the HD re-releases on Xbox Live Arcade. Also, I really liked Viva Pinata and I prefer the Xbox Avatars to Nintendo's Miis.

There isn't going to be any Banjo Threeie. Rare is now focused solely on Kinect games.

Rare's next project is rumored to be banjo threeie. And honestly dude they worked o two kinect games how does that make them focused on kinect? Thats like saying twsited pixel or lionhead are kinect focused for making a kinect game.

The rumored Banjo Threeie as I recall was made a while ago after Tooie came out. Nuts and Bolts was supposedly the product of that rumor. I doubt it's legit anymore

I completely agree with Sykotek. A party game might be based on a genre, but it doesn't necessarily make it a "pure" example of the genre.

In Mario Kart, you race around tracks, the same thing you do in Need for Speed, Gran Turismo, Forza, Burnout, etc. Mario Kart is a racing game. More specifically, it's (it is) an arcade-style racing game, just like Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, ModNation Racers, etc. Just because it has go-karts instead of cars doesn't make it any less of a racing game. Look at Blur, that game was heavily inspired by Mario Kart, and it had cars.

When Need for Speed/Gran Turismo/Forza/Burnout introduce green shells, red shells, banana peels, blue shells, lightning, stars etc. then I will class it in the same category as Mario Kart/SASAST/MDR. If you were to play Need for Speed/Gran Turismo/Forza/Burnout, you would know that there is more to the racing than just holding down a button and moving the control stick.

Mario Kart, is a simplistic party version of the kart racing game, but in no way can it be placed in the same category as Need for Speed/Gran Turismo/Forza/Burnout.

MarioKart also has drift, speed boosts, shortcuts, and with the introduction of gliders and propellers, it adds more depth because you have to be smart when using each enhancement. Plus MarioKart is the shining example of a kart racing game. GIve me any kart racing game that is of higher quality than MarioKart. The best ones I can think of is Sega All Stars Racing (but it didn't handle as well and was glitchy sometimes) and Crash Team Racing (way back in the Playstation years). Kart racing is different from realistic racing but nonetheless it is still a racing game.

Oh and Smash and MarioKart are party games, safe to say COD and Halo are party games?

Question is Wii sports and Wii sports resort shovelware?

No, more of a tech demo to introduce you to how the Wii and it's motion controls work.

Shovelware refers to games that clearly took little time to make with hardly any imagination involved. Both Wii Sports had a clear vision of what it wanted to do and executed it well so it is indeed not shovelware, plus like stated above, it served to showcase the Wii's abilities.

So what does that make Kinect Sports and Sports Champions (PS Move)?

Sports compilations? If they execute what they're intended to do well then they shouldn't be considered shovelware. The first Kinect Sports is a good game, 2nd one though could be considered shovelware. Sports Champion is the best PS3 Move game (sadly) and is one of the only Move games that isn't shovelware.

As for Rare, like I stated before, I read an IGN (I think it was IGN) article of one of the editors visiting Rare Studios and seeing the entire place covered with Kinect Sports stuff in place of Banjoo, Conker, DK, Perfect Dark and such so I don't see much hope of them going back to those days.

Well Nuts and Bolts is the sequel to Banjo Tooie, so doesn't that make it Banjo Threeie?

There are plenty of Move games that aren't shovelware. Most of Sony's FPS games support the Move, along with GoldenEye Reloaded, Dead Space Extraction HD, House of the Dead 2 & 3, the upcoming House of the Dead 4. There are also some puzzle games that support the Move, such as Tumble and Echochrome 2. LittleBigPlanet 2 has a special PS Move level pack that you can download.

As for Rare, it's sad to see them that way. It's like Microsoft wants them to forget about their roots.

I was mainly talking about Move exclusive games but yeah, I know there are a lot of great PS3 games that support the Move
