Topic: What's your favorite Mario game?

I know this thread has undoubtedly been done before, but I'm going to go about it a little differently. It's going to be like a poll, so keep a tally as you cast your vote, and also update the list if your favorite is not represented on there because I've left off some of the less-popular ones. (This poll does not include Mario spinoffs such as Mario Kart or Paper Mario)

My vote: Super Mario World

Super Mario Bros. - 0
Super Mario Land - 0
Super Mario Bros. 2 (JPN) - 0
Super Mario Bros. 2 - 0.5
Super Mario Bros. 3 - 4.5
Super Mario World - 13.5
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island - .5
Super Mario 64 - 5
Super Mario Sunshine - 4.5
New Super Mario Bros. - 0
Super Mario Galaxy - 4.5
New Super Mario Bros. Wii - 0
Super Mario Galaxy 2 - 1

A tie between SMB3 and SMW.

Mario World, I all most bought a SNES back in 1992 but the man in the shop, didn't know when it was coming out! So I bought a Mega Drive instead about four weeks later the SNES came out and traded my MD in for a one packed with Super Mario All stars. What a game I so want that to be a VC download one day!!!!!!

Erm...even if you were serious, (and I assume [hope] you aren't) That qualifies as a spin-off...

Paper Mario on the N64, though I guess its not really the main series, if its platform games only I'll go with Mario 64.

Grensworth, All-Stars is not on VC, and you don't have it. You misread that post, just as I misread your first post.

Yes, I did; I thought he was talking about Mario World.

I say a tie between Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario RPG. I can't choose one over the other since they are so different but those two are games I enjoyed going back to several times over. (In the case of SMRPG, even many years later.

I've been debating 3 and Super Mario World but it all comes down to what started the Mario formula for World and beyond and that was 3...so it has to be Super Mario Bros 3 for me...plus, how many games had a whole movie created for it starring Fred Savage just to announce its release? What a great 90 min. commercial that was back in the day! Suck on that GTA and Halo!

I love the power glove...it's so bad.

Haha...what a wonderfully horrible line of dialogue! I remember seeing that movie as a young lad and thinking it was the greatest movie this side of "Rad!".

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
