When I was younger, I wasn't really exposed to many "well-known" games, like I am now. Most of the games I played and enjoyed were all games that tend to slip under the radar of most gamers - but that doesn't mean they aren't as good! I remembered about this when I brought up this game yesterday:
I haven't really found many other people who've ever heard of this game (or its sequels), but it is one of my favorite RPGs I've ever played! It's definitely addicting, I always end up playing it for several hours at a time!
This game was my favorite game ever when I was younger! And I still enjoy it today. And don't let the cover deceive you - this is not at all a kiddie game. You can "upgrade" your car throughout the game, and by "upgrade" it really means "loading your car up with weapons", and to get ahead you must blow up opponent racers. It's tons of fun!
And that's just two that come to mind for me at the moment.
So, have you heard of/played either of those games? And what obscure games have you enjoyed that you'd like the world to know about?
I'm really not sure if it's obscure but I like Body Harvest on N64 I don't know anyone else that had or know it

Bionicle Heroes for the GBA. Growing up I loved the toys, so my parents bought me the game 7 or 8 years ago. It's a really fun top down bullet-hell shooter. I enjoyed it very much.

Astro Boy: Omega Factor and Mischief Makers aren't even the most popular Treasure games (so literally no one played these games ever) but are by far my favorite games from them. Fantastic games.
also I've enjoyed RPG Maker games (including a remake of a Kirby fangame sequel) so I don't think any of you can beat that
What WTV_94 said, BAR. Which got me thinking of Iggy's Wreckin' Balls(N64) and Unirally(SNES) which IIRC, was made by the same studio as Body Harvest, and said studio is by no means obscure nowadays.

@GuSilverFlame I had body harvest back then. As a kid, I thought this was apart of the Metroid series. @DreamyViridi I know about Dynamite Headdy, and it's a great game. I even did a review of it.
Ristar is a game you all should play, and should get remade and have sequels.
I made Sheldon & Mr. Randoms back on Flipnote Hatena, now i'm a kangaroo mod that has a funko pop collection!
I'm not keen politics since that stuff is spooky, I'd rather watch SpongeBob over Fox News anyways!
This game actually isn't horrible! I never had the full version, but I enjoyed what I could play, and it had an awesome level editor. I remember spending an afternoon with some friends taking turns creating levels! Btw, @Gioku , I remember you saying you've played this game on the chit-chat thread, right?
Outlaws is an incredible FPS, complete with a great plot, memorable lines, awesome gameplay, and an absolutely amazing soundtrack.
This is an open world game where you can either drive a fire truck, an ambulance, or a police car (which becomes a motorcycle after a certain point!). You just drive around the city to certain points in order to complete missions, but it's just loads of fun to explore and go crazy. You could basically destroy a knock around a ton of objects, nearly ram into people causing them to scream and run away, and ride on train tracks only to get knocked half way across the city by the train.
Life and Death is an old DOS game where you're a doctor who has to diagnose patients with what's wrong, then select the proper treatment. However, when the patient has appendicitis, YOU have to perform the appendectomy. I used a guide, but I it's pretty fun yet tough to try and master the operations, and during them you also have a blood pressure and heart monitor to keep an eye on. If the heart starts acting funny, you have to quickly administer the proper shot. (There are two things that can go wrong, and each has it's own shot. Giving the wrong shot when the patient doesn't need it will kill the patient.) Yes, the patients can die if you make wrong decisions, but you can also get kicked out of the operating room if you do something like, write a smiley face on the patient with the scalpel. (Which also causes the patient to scream if you haven't turned on the anesthesia ) I actually think it would be awesome if there was a Wii U version of the game. I'd definitely buy that, as long as they keep it family friendly.
So, those are four obscure games I've played. Anyone else here played any of 'em?
@mystman12: Yes, Speedy Eggbert also came with my Mini Car Racing; I played that one for countless hours making levels, too! It remains one of the best level editors I've ever used.
THese all belong to a series on PC called the City Builder series. They are kinda like Simcity but during ancient times. When these games came out most people were playing Simcity so alot of people don't know about these games. I like them because of the ancient flavor each of them have. I can play those games for hours on end and still do on occasion. If you like city building type games like Simcity or RTS games then I suggest checking them out. You can get them fairly cheap on GoG.com
