I had some of the worst dental growth. Had to get my last baby tooth pulled when I was 14 and found out it was because my permanent was growing 90 degrees off (yes, 90 degrees). Had to slowly pull it into the right position with braces. Quite painful. Had to wear them from 15 to 18-19

They've been on for about 13 months now, and I don't like them any more than the first day I had them. The fact that my bite has become so bad (my orthodontist says things "have to get worse before they get better") that it's a lot harder to chew my food than it ever has been and that my teeth look like they're receding from my gums because the braces are spreading them so far apart doesn't help.
My experience? I wish I had them when I was younger. Now I'm well into adulthood and I'm wondering if I should go ahead and take the plunge. I positively DESPISE pain in my mouth though so it's gonna be a tough decision. I think I'd rather have my arm hacked off with a rusty hacksaw. My wisdom teeth created all my problems. They grew in sideways and the rest of my teeth got really crowded. I finally had them yanked out and what an ordeal that was.
