It's snowing outside, so some snowy day gaming. Played more Tuff E Nuff on Nintendo Classics on Switch. Found a move list online and decided to play again, using Kotono's moves. I beat the game again, the moves weren't too hard to pull off. Who knew I would enjoy the one game with the worst box art. Also, I said this in the unpopular gaming opinion thread, I really like the music in this game.
I also played X-COM UFO Defense on PC. Downed another UFO, did a mission without losing any soldiers, recovered an alien called a floater and started research on it. Making good use of the laser weapons I manufactured too. Unlike regular weapons, they have unlimited ammo.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons - I'm enjoying the new update. I did some of the hotel rooms already, and I even ordered some of the Lego items they added. Planning on making one of my house rooms a Lego room since I do like Legos.
Mario Kart World - Playing Knockout Tour online, and Free Roam. Recently, I did all of the P-Switch missions! I'll see if I can't get any more Peach Medallions.
Kirby Air Riders - Mainly focusing on Road Trip. I've made a decent amount of progress in it and hopefully I can finish that soon.

Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I'd like to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
Started playing XCOM: Enemy Unknown this evening. Since I've been playing the classic X-COM UFO Defense, I decided to try to pick this one up again and play it for a bit. Did the first couple of missions tonight.

Because I have a couple of other N64 games I play to play through the next few months, I decided to play Tonic Trouble and Ridge Racer 64 on NSO. Tonic Trouble because one of those other games is Rayman 2 and I have a feeling I'll never want to play Tonic Trouble again considering it is generally considered a much worse, spiritual prototype for Rayman 2. It sure is a flawed first attempt at a 3d platformer alright.
Ridge Racer because its a decent addition to multiplayer for the semi-rare times I get to play multiplayer on NSO and you have to play single player to unlock things. I don't have a lot to say because its a car game, but it sure has an interesting way of trying to recreate the experience of turning your car too much when doing a turn. I mean I guess for an arcade racer you do have limited options there.
Played more Tuff E Nuff on Nintendo Classics today, and played a bit of X-COM Terror from the Deep. Since I have X-COM UFO Defense figured out, tried some of the strategies I tried in UFO Defense on Terror from the Deep. Just to experiment for a bit, I had Terror from the Deep first.

A few days ago, I booted up Animal Crossing: New Horizons (not the NS2E) for the first time in a while. I first played the game last year, but got caught up in other games and never found the motivation to return to it. The new 3.0 update felt like a good excuse to get back into the game, even if I'm too early into the game to reap many of its boons. Since the main game I'm currently playing is digital (I have ACNH physical), it'll be much easier for me to play Animal Crossing whenever I have a spare half hour.
And as for the main game I'm playing, I started Hollow Knight: Silksong earlier today. I played the original Hollow Knight at around this time last year, and loved it so very much (even if I was terrible at its bosses). I am happy to say that the magic of the first game is back in full force in the sequel. Normally, my play sessions for any game last 1.5-2 hours at a time, but I managed to play for a little over 3 hours (and I admittedly still didn't want to put the controller down). So far, I've made my way through large swathes of Moss Grotto and The Marrow. I am quite eager to continue playing.

Currently Playing: Hollow Knight: Silksong, Pokémon LeafGreen

MIO: Memories In Orbit - It released yesterday, and it’s a pretty good Metroidvania. I’m about five hours in, have beaten several bosses, and unlocked some great abilities. I’m looking forward to playing more when I get the chance. If you’re a fan of Hollow Knight and Ori, check this one out. It’s been getting great reviews.
Going to fire up Celeste tonight. Just wrapped up Bomb Chicken, which I'd say is an easy 9/10. Brilliant indie game, for those craving puzzle platformers with a meaty challenge. Wonderuflly unique too! haven't played anything else like it.
Unfortunately, I couldn't really get into Savage Halloween(Fun early 90's NES Aesthetic aside. it's just a sloppy poor man's Contra, with tanky controls, poor stage design, and overly long schmup stages that drag into eternity.), Whispee(Awful 2 cent Kirby-like clone that shouldn't even exist), or even Sir Lovealot which borrows heavily from Super Meat Boy, failed to win me over.
@NeonPizza As someone who grew up on Nitrome games, I absolutely need to play Bomb Chicken one of these days. Probably should also check out Shovel Knight Dig after I try the original.

More XCOM Enemy Unknown tonight. Played the next few missions, and managed to take some aliens back to my base, alive! Don't worry, I have an alien containment facility. I should have picked up this game sooner, it's fun.
On the Switch side of things, played through Fighter's History on the SNES app, and dabbled with Earth Defense Force and Star Soldier on the SNES and NES app respectively.

Depending on how much I want to grind levels, I might be able to beat Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1+ this weekend. Afterward, I want to play some Among Us in order to get that limited time Stardew Valley cosmicube, and then start another new game on Switch for the first time SINCE LAST YEAR (I love telling that kind of joke 🤣). I just realized that besides ACNH and the occasional round of Among Us, I really haven't been playing much Switch lately because of Neptunia on PS4. Though I'm going to start playing a lot more Switch after beating Re;Birth1+, I promise.
My top 5 favorite games:
1: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1
2: Pokémon Violet
3: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
4: The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening (2019)
5: Animal Crossing New Horizons

Been playing through the trilogy in the Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection.
I played Uncharted 1 for the first time in this collection, and it's a solid experience. Not as bad as I expected based on all I've heard about it. Definitely worth playing (on Easy).
Uncharted 2 was one of the first PS3 games I bought, and it still holds up to this day! Every bit as bombastic and eye-catching as I remember. Getting close to the end, and it's been a blast. Almost unbelievable that they improved this much coming off the first one - puzzles, set pieces, environments, combat - it's all better.
Never played Uncharted 3 so I'm excited to give it a go once I finish 2. Afterwards I plan on moving to Uncharted 4 for the first time as well.
These games are good fun, and you can easily beat one of them in a weekend. Highly recommend.
I've supp'd for months on naught but broth of bean
Spent the afternoon playing X-COM Enforcer on PC, grabbed it from GOG thanks to a sale. I get why this game is so hated, it does not have the strategy gameplay the XCOM series is known for. This is more of an arcade shooter where you run around blasting aliens and collecting powerups.
As someone who's been playing the XCOM strategy games, I'm loving it! Yes, it's different, but it is fun running around blasting away aliens. It lead to a fun afternoon.
If it didn't have the XCOM name, I think the game would have been received better.
@charliecarrot I’ve similarly been revisiting Uncharted! Playing Tomb Raider in Switch 2 gave me the itch for it.
Curious what you think of 3 after all these years! Only my first playthrough it was my favourite of the trilogy, but on second play I started to see the flaws a bit more and found 2 to be the better experience. They’re all great games though!
Snowed in, playing some classic games this morning. Played X-COM UFO Defense, did a terror mission, and actually completed it. Got to try out the newly manufactured laser rifles. On Switch, more Nintendo Classics. Played through Tuff E Nuff again as Kotono, and did the first three levels of Earth Defense Force.
Edit: Played some more this afternoon, some X-COM Enforcer on PC, and Fighter's History and Bubsy on Nintendo Classics. I'd say good snow day classic gaming.
I'm currently playing Super Mario Galaxy 2, specifically the Switch version. I started playing it on my birthday, and it's still as awesome as I remember it being. I made it to world 3 and I've gotten about 30 stars as of this post.
