If Clair Obscur didn't come out this year, an argument could be made that Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter could be an rpg-of-the-year contender. Great characters, great music, great voice acting, good combat, etc. I'm 20 hours deep and I don't know how I've spent that much time so far. Blink and you'll miss it.
Having never played the original I can't say, "great remake". But what a game.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,537 games (as of December 22nd, 2025)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)
@FishyS Had fun with it this past weekend. Photo mode is fun, one of the poses Renata had was the Sonic Adventure pose. Thanks for the heads up, going to have to add it to my wishlist.
Edit: Took a screenshot of what I was talking about. This is the pose from the Dreamcast cover of Sonic Adventure and I love it.
Playing a little bit of Animal Crossing: New Horizons each day, and I put on my favorite Halloween costume in it too.
Also been playing Klonoa: Empire of Dreams on the Switch's GBA app. I think it's a pretty good platformer. The regular levels are on the relaxing side and have a puzzle element to them, though the sliding levels, auto-scrolling levels, and bosses are pretty tough.
I also played Mario Kart World's free roam mode. Those P-switches are getting a lot harder to find now... I couldn't find any P-switches tonight, but I did at least find some Peach medallions.

AKA MarioVillager92. Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I want to get to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
My wife shocked me yesterday while I was at work. She bought me a Nintendo Switch 2 along with Donkey Kong Bananza and Cronos The New Dawn. I’ll probably jump into both of these games throughout the week, especially the latter since it is Spooky Season.
Only two more rooms in Toy Commander. I think I will stop playing games as a completionist and just try to enjoy the ride. Toy Commander is tough even without going for 100%.
I will laugh if Nintendo announces a trophy system in the next few days.
Right now I'm in a pause on Pokémon Stadium (NSO version), some deliveries arrived the last few days. I got Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics on Saturday and Itadaki Street DS yesterday, so those games have my attention right now.
By the time I've played enough of both, it will most likely be the release of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.
Rusty's Real Deal Baseball is now a hidden gem of the Nintendo 3DS.

Still playing Frogun on PC, however I was in an online FPS mood. Played some Modern Combat Blackout on Switch, and Wolfenstein Enemy Territory on PC. Won a few games of Enemy Territory tonight, even though it's been awhile since I've played it.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch remake) - I felt like replaying this one. I finished three dungeons, and it's still a lovely game after all these years. Not having to swap inventory around nearly as often is a huge quality of life improvement over the Game Boy original, and I even love the cute art style! I'm playing it on the Switch 2, and I'm happy to report that the frame rate jittering is gone. That didn't bother me originally, but to those who did get bothered by it, you'll be happy to know that the frame rate is as smooth as butter on Switch 2.
Tetris 99 - Another game I felt like coming back to. Been playing some online matches in it and getting tickets along the way. Like before, been playing it on Switch 2, but there's just one issue... this is the first game which I tried on Switch 2, where I noticed some uneven pixels, at least in handheld mode. It doesn't bother me too much, but it's definitely noticeable. Especially since I play Tetris best in handheld mode. It's still a solid game though.

I've been playing Alien Isolation. A little worried that I already took an hour to deal with like 3 guys in one room, and this is before the alien showed up in this Alien game. Really hoping this isn't one of those games where my playtime is double the average because of failing stealth repeatedly.
I unintentionally stayed up to 4am this morning playing Hades II. It’s honestly starting to click with me now. I even made it to the third boss in one of my runs.
Hollow Knight.... tried this game a few years back and bounced straight off it after a couple of hours.
Since beating Silksong (Act3 final boss, with 100%) I thought I'd give it a shot, especially as some people were saying it is even harder!!
I am 5 hours deep in HK now, and honestly it feels like a vacation after how horrendously gruelling Silksong felt. HK, at least to me, is considerably easier and more forgiving.... and probably all the better for it.
Early game HK is especially easy on the player, slowly introducing mechanics and enemy mobs. Early game Silksong was a living nightmare!
Itadaki Street DS
Back when I got Fortune Street for the Wii in 2018, it became immediately clear that I didn't completely understand how to win. However, when I got this game a few weeks ago, I let the CPU play for me, thanks to Relief Mode (thankfully the results from Relief Mode do count towards the totals) to analize what they were doing and I think I got to understand what happens to the point of seeing the CPU controlling my character getting an impressive net worth of 100000G while leaving the others way behind at ~15000G.
Now, my biggest enemy is the dice. No matter what, it seems it always gives crappy rolls, while for CPUs it is almost always perfect rolls.
Hopefully what I learned here can be implemented in Fortune Street.
Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics
I got this game a few days before Itadaki Street DS and I'm playing this in a casual way just to have fun blasting Spider-Man with Mega Man and Psylocke kicking M. Bison's arse in Marvel Vs. Capcom 2.
By the time I'm done with these two games, it will most likely be time for the release of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.

I'm juggling a few games on my Nintendo systems right now.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
This is my primary game right now. I'm still playing through the story and really enjoying my time with it. It's the first entry in the series that really feels like I'm playing the world as portrayed in the anime series. I'm probably about 70% done with the main story and I'm playing it together with my wife, so we're helping each other find things the other missed and especially with trade evolutions. It's been a blast!
Mario Kart World
I'm still playing this off and on. I've found about 60%-ish of the collectibles in Free Roam and working on 3-Stars on all Mirror Mode cups in Grand Prix. Still having a lot of fun with this!
Super Mario Odyssey
This is more of a replay, and I've rolled credits on the game already, just having a great time with the post-game content. I still put this on the same pedestal as Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy. Excellent game.
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D
This is a bucket list game for me as it's the last 3D title in The Legend of Zelda series I have yet to play. I just finished the 2nd dungeon and to be honest, I'm not having the best time with this one. It's been a bit of a slog to playthrough. Not to say that its all bad, but the 72 hour reset is starting to get on my nerves and holding the experience back for me personally.
Pokémon Red Version
This is my lunch break game. I play it about 30 minutes a day and maybe a little bit more before bed. I'm playing on the 3DS Virtual Console and have the goal of slowly completing every mainline entry in the Pokémon franchise!
And that's it for Nintendo. My wife and I are also playing through Silent Hill f on PlayStation 5, but I won't get too much into that here. Hope everyone else is having fun out there!
Super Neptunia RPG (from my local library) on my recently purchased PS4. Been having a blast with it so far 😃. Also Dragon Quest XI, the occasional bit of Smash Bros. Ultimate, and I'm thinking of returning to Animal Crossing New Horizons soon.
My top 5 favorite games:
1: Pokémon Violet
2: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
3: Animal Crossing New Horizons
4: Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
5: The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
