Started Layton's Mystery Journey Deluxe on Switch (1), and the first puzzle takes me (and my brother) 15 minutes and 3 hints to solve.
I'm a little rusty to Layton puzzles, it seems 😅. Thankfully, I'm already 2 hours in, so I'm getting back into it.

Completed the second episode of Heretic on PC this evening. Also, in anticipation of seeing the new Smurfs movie, played Smurfs: Mission Vileaf on Switch and made it to the Gargamel's Hovel.

Playing a whole lotta Mario Kart World. Earlier I finished the Grand Prix and Knockout Tour modes in single player, and I'm currently focusing on online races and the Free Roam mode (which I'm actually enjoying quite a bit). A couple online races had me dodge a blue shell with a mushroom, which is always satisfying to pull off.
Also been playing the Switch 2 edition of Breath of the Wild. Decided to play on master mode this time, and it's quite difficult... I'll see how much progress I can put in before I decide to move on to a different game.

Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I'd like to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
Played some Asphalt Legends Unite on Switch, and did some online races. Even won one race. Yesterday, played some Jagged Alliance Deadly Games on PC, doing my favorite mission in the game. Thinking about playing Jagged Alliance Deadly Games again this evening.

Finished disk 1 of Final Fantasy IX. My team is around level 11 and I failed the Gizarmaluke boss a few times. I think I should level a little bit. I am again reminded, what I love about old games and what I love about new games.
Arrived at the outer continent and visited Kondeya Pata in Final Fantasy IX. And I did not have to grind so far. The atmosphere is so good. This is one of those games, where I just stop for a moment, to enjoy the moment.
Warframe and No Man's Sky mostly. With a side of Against the Storm and Young Souls. Against the Storm is amazing so far, but is a huge time commitment per run. And Young Souls is a dope beat'em up/rpg, very much in the vein of Dragon's Crown or Castle Crashers.
Unfortunately, Young Souls occasionally hangs on loading screens, but the game autosaves so frequently it's sort of a non-issue.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,540 games (as of January 28th, 2026)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)
Just a few more scenes and I am done with CD 2. Eiko is a funny girl. One of the things I love about Final Fantasy IX is how it finds the perfect balance between being lighthearted and funny, and serious.
I feel calm and happy while playing. Old games are just magical and full of great vibes. I am thankful, that I can still feel like I used to feel, when I played games in the past. I think the vibes are very important.
Been playing Suikoden on the Series X the past few days. I have gone into more detail in the Suikoden thread if anyone is interested. I am enjoying it as always and its a good remaster.

Fantasy Life I PS5
I love this game since from the announcement and I have played for more than 20 hours since 1 August 2025.
Currently I have to continue the mission at Swolean Island but I really short in cash so I tried to upgrade Marco's Shop by getting his Requested items to be delivered then it will raise Marco's Rank shop into 2 and I can make profit by selling White Sheep stickers.
I still have one step closer to finish Marco's request to upgrade his shop into level 2.
I need to raise the Cook level of mine and my Cook villager as I have to make Tuna Sashimi + then delivered those items.
I started coming back to Kirby and the Forgotten Land in honor of the Switch 2 edition coming out, which I'm actually pretty excited for. I came back to my original save file so I can 100% it.

Starting to play Astral Ascent and the game is surprisingly very fun! I was about to start a witcher 3 game for the first time (thank you Switch 2), but Astral Ascent doesn't activate my motion sickness and just plain more fun. Very smooth too on Switch!
Still playing Fantasy Life I PS5.
I have reached the part of gathering the materials for making Interfere Gear to stop the Cog Gears.
Interesting to see the storyline theme of Fantasy Life I is very Mayan civilization, from their outfits, the buildings theme, the futuristic ancient technology like botw, etc.
Started Heretic + Hexen on PC. Got the new version free for having the original Heretic and Hexen on my GOG account. Already beat episode 1 of Heretic. I really hope people who picked this up on Switch are enjoying it.
Also, for something different, been playing a few free software games on PC, Freedoom and Xonotic. Freedoom is a really good sci-fi shooter on the Doom engine, and Xonotic is scratching that arena shooter itch. Both are on PC, nice to play something out of the ordinary for a change.
Like many I'm playing Donkey Kong Bananza as the "main" game. As amazing as that game is, I've noticed it overwhelms my brain! There's just so much to do, destroy, explore, collect, etc. I understand you don't have to and can essentially go from Point A to Point B to Point C, etc. but obviously the game is designed to keep pulling you in virtually any direction. Again, very fun and I'm loving it but it tends to overwhelm me and I need a come down.
That's why on the side I started Metroid Zero Mission (NSO). I missed this one back in the day so it's awesome I get a second chance with the GBA service. It is the perfect "calm down" game to my brain. I'm loving the pace and old school gameplay. Complete opposite of DKB and just hits so right when DKB overwhelms me and then I fire up this game. Looking forward to completing it!
This fire is burning and it's out of control. It's not a problem you can stop it's Rock and Roll!!!
