@BlackKnight93 I apologise if I made you upset. It wasn’t my intent. Happy gaming.

We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.

@BlackKnight93 As a long-time Nintendo fan, I will continue to post my opinion where and when I see fit. There's no reason for you to be so bothered by it. Nintendo is doing very well right now outside of my opinion.

@BlackKnight93
I don't understand what do you want by creating this thread.
Do you want to express your dissatisfaction due to unable to get the games as your expectations on year 2019 ?
And if you have very strict taste (No shovelwares, no kiddie games, no Japanese / Anime style games, no etc) then you will get frustrated.

@Harmonie Then tell me if you're a long time nintendo fan, how can you be satisfied with ANYTHING Switch got in 2017 OR 2019?

@Anti-Matter I can't stand hypocrisy. If people who claim to be Nintendo fans bought Switch only to complain about it, even with all the games it got, then they shouldn't have bought the console to begin with. Nintendo had a great year in 2019, but if not even their own fans can see that, then it means there's definitely something wrong.

@BlackKnight93
Btw, have you got your Switch games during 2019 ?
I bought some Switch games along with other machine games (PS4, NDS, wii, PS2, PS3) during 2019.
I didn't complain at all with Switch games line up during 2019.
How about you ?
Are you happy with Switch games you have so far ?
I have 39 Switch games in physical right now and there are more than 80 Switch titles (in physical) on my shopping list.

"how can you be satisfied with ANYTHING Switch got in 2017 OR 2019?"

Wait, are you still complaining with 2017 until 2019 line up ?
What games exactly are you looking for ?

@BlackKnight93 2017 had Super Mario Odyssey, which was a fantastic completely unexpected return-to-form for the 3D Mario platforming series. BOTW is my favorite game in years, but I credit it to the Wii U before the Switch.

2019 just didn't have much for me. Someday when I get money I hope to play Luigi's Mansion 3.

You're putting words in my mouth. I never said there was nothing, just that I've never been as satisfied as much as others.

@Anti-Matter I think they left out "not", and it was supposed to say "how can you NOT be satisfied ..."

How about this: if you're all over Nintendo's current output, then praise them as much as you like. Go nuts. But let's not attack people because they're not as gaga over the current lineup of Switch games as you are.

Just realize that Nintendo's not your friend, and they don't require your cheerleading to succeed.

I'm satisfied with my Switch games i have so far.
Now the question is how about you ?
Are you satisfied with Switch games until 2019 so far ?
If you have some Switch games, are happy with your choices ?

@Anti-Matter Of course I am. I mean, I wouldn't have opened the topic if I wasn't to begin with. I'm just really really confused and quite irritated about how anyone would consider 2019 a lackluster year for Nintendo at all. It's true Pokemon and Mario Kart Tour sucked, but the good overweighted the bad here. Seriously if you don't like any title between Super Mario Maker 2, Cadence of Hyrule, Fire Emblem Three Houses, Astal Chain, Link's Awakening and Luigi's Mansion 3, the what kind of games do you even like? This is just stupid.

BlackKnight93

Anti-Matter

@BlackKnight93
Why do you say stupid if i don't have interest with the titles you mentioned: Fire Emblem Three Houses, Astral Chain, Cadence of Hyrule, etc ? 🤨
Do i have to play those games ?
I have interest with other Switch games which the games are more interesting for me than the titles you mentioned above.

What kind of Switch games i like ?
1. Girlie games (Pretty Princess Magical Coordinate, Model Debut #Nicola, Waku Waku Sweets, etc)
2. Cute and Cartoonish games (Portal Knights, Dragon Quest Builders 1& 2, Overcooked 1 & 2, Yonder the Cloud Catcher Chronicles, Chocobo Mystery Dungeon Every Buddy, etc)
3. Quirky games (1-2-Switch, ARMS, Youtubers Life OMG edition, etc)

You don't need to be confused and irritated just because peoples don't play the games you mentioned above (Super Mario Maker 2, Cadence of Hyrule, Fire Emblem Three Houses, Astral Chain, Link's Awakening and Luigi's Mansion 3) because everyone have different interest. If you feel that less peoples want to play the games you mentioned it, just find other gamers who have same interest with your games preferences.

From what i see and listen from your replies here, you seems just want to rant about peoples don't play Fire Emblem 3 Houses, Luigi Mansion 3, Astral Chain, etc.
Peoples buy Nintendo machines for different purposes.
Not everyone bought Nintendo to play Mario or Zelda games.
For me as example, i have no interest with Zelda games but i have interest with Mario games, so will you call me stupid just because i don't play Zelda games that you think every peoples who bought Nintendo machines must play Zelda games or you will call them stupid for not playing the games you think is really wonderful for you and every people must play those games ?? 🤨

@Anti-Matter But it doesn't make sense if you buy a console ONLY to complain about it. And this is EXACTLY what's happening as we speak. You found other titles to enjoy Switch, fine, but there are others who didn't, an yet they still bought Switch. I don't like people who behave that way, they're throwing mud on Switch's reputation and for the wrong reasons. It's their fault if they didn't make a good purchase they should have informed themself better. But most importantly: YOU CAN'T DIFFAME A CONSOLE ONLY BECAUSE IT HAS GAMES YOU DON'T LIKE. I DON'T LIKE MOST OF SONY'S GAMES, BUT I NEVER ATTACKED PLAYSTATION FOR THAT YOU KNOW.

And there you have it. I hope I've been 100% clear of why this situation is hurting me.

dude, let me be real for a sec. If people criticizing Nintendo hurts you so much, that's on you. That's a personal problem, you need to figure out.

Look, I love Nintendo. Nintendo games are the first games I ever played, and I've supported every major system they've released since the N64 and GBC. I could praise their games forever, both because of how great their best stuff is and how many great games they've put out. And I generally like them as a company, in general. BUT, it is absurd to pretend that Nintendo is a perfect company. Even at the best of times, there are things they do as a business and as...creators of entertainment and art, that is pretty flawed. Literally any major business in entertainment has this problem, there is no exception.

And while the internet can be hyperbolic and annoying with being critical about everything, all the time, forever...within reason, criticism is good. It can tell both other people who could use relevant information about flaws in certain products and maybe eventually people who notice this stuff who work at the company, that what they're doing in specific areas is not good. And that can help them be...better, potentially. Companies literally ask for feedback at times, y'know. The Switch's success compared to Wii U is a prime example. A lot of the Switch feels like a response to the failures of the Wii U.

The simple reality is that while I've seen people who I'm truly baffled at why they even got a Switch (they seem uninformed and kinda weird tbh), most people who complain about the Switch who own one probably like the Switch. They would just like it...more, if they did certain different things. And while complaining the night away is not a good idea, some complaining is just based on y'know...basic human opinions? "This thing could be better" is pretty light tbh. It is not unreasonable. It's just not.

And quite frankly, I've mostly just seen praise for Nintendo. Most of their games get constant, consistent praise. Some critique within, but the majority of it is praise. Fire Emblem Three Houses, widely praised. Mario Maker 2, praised more than enough outside of legit bad online issues. Crafted World, it did ok. Link's Awakening, beloved as it should be despite being a remake of a Gameboy game for 60 bucks. The casual fitness game, Ring Fit Adventure, got wide praise. Luigi's Mansion 3 is considered almost like a masterpiece. Astral Chain has gotten the usual praise of Platinum's games. Even some of the games that are just Wii U ports got mostly praise. Not to mention all the love for Smash DLC. The majority opinion of Nintendo is in fact very positive. It often is, outside of specific things, even in much worse years for the company.

So I cannot wrap my head around the idea that people are being too negative (outside of the general issue that parts of the internet are miserable for everything ever, which is valid). Nintendo's good things got a lot of praise and the bad things didn't. That's normal and good. I fail to see the issue here, or at least the issue that is somehow Nintendo specific.

@BlackKnight93 When I got my Switch, it was late 2017 and the system was still young. How was I supposed to be "informed" that the system would mostly receive hype through Wii U ports, that the Pokemon games would not be that great, etc.? I was excited to get a Switch because it was young and Super Mario Odyssey since it was finally a return to form for the 3D series after being lost for a whole decade. I had no idea that Odyssey would be the most notable release (personally) for the system going three years into its lifespan. (Animal Crossing New Horizons should finally dethrone it in March)

Overall, I got a Switch because I am a longtime Nintendo fan. I've done the same for every Nintendo system.

Do you know why you don't hold Sony to those standards? Because you're most likely not a longtime Sony fan. I'm the same. I got into Sony with the PS2 and had only a select number of games I wanted. My expectations have remained relatively low and I have enjoyed every Sony console I've gotten while the number of games that receive hype on PS consoles don't do anything for me.

Nintendo is different. I have played their games since I was a little girl (like probably playing the NES is one of my earliest memories) and the N64/GCN era especially instilled in me high expectations, as Nintendo was really hitting it out of the park back then. I'm invested in Nintendo. I'm sad when the Switch's releases for franchises are just ports from the Wii U that I've already played years ago. I'm sad when games like Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu/Eevee are what Nintendo/GF really think are worthy of the franchise that I have loved for twenty years.

It's one thing if they release games like Fire Emblem Three Houses which I personally have no interest in. But Pokemon games have been the number one franchise for me on every single Nintendo handheld. Now we have a system where a 3D Mario platformer somehow outdid both of them for me, and the 3D Mario series has never been among my top series personally. (when it comes to Mario, Mario Kart and classic Paper Mario are what really hit the spot for me)

Those are my opinions. I don't understand why they upset you so much. Are my opinions even effecting Nintendo, honestly? No. They're rolling in the cash. Your beloved Switch is the talk of the town, the best thing since sliced bread according to so many other people that are not me.

They need a normal $600 console with a normal controller, 4K graphics and 120fps and way more M-rated first person shooter games.

@BlackKnight93 Y'know... I'm gonna say one final thing on this subject. People are allowed to have good days and bad days. I've been frustrated lately a lot (mainly because of how much time Pokemon's been wasting trying to trade or battle with my friends online, it shouldn't take over an hour to pull off and feel like pure luck), but earlier this year I found that Astral Chain had probably hit my top 25 games of all time list, making it the highlight of the year. And back at the beginning of the year I was frustrated once I'd played through my backlog and there was nothing of interest coming out. So y'know... It's possible to compare a year to others and say "This wasn't one of their better years" and still have enjoyed many things during it.

And while some AAA disappointed this year, WILL: A Wonderful World and Cadence of Hyrule were highlights for me, Indies or not.

Don't worry Nintendo made 9 billion yen in the 2018-2019 financial year alone off the Switch in comparison to mobile where it took more than 3 years to make just one billion. Heck the 3DS (which was already considered a dead system at the time) made slightly more revenue than mobile.

Nintendo isn't going to switch (pardon the pun) to mobile anytime soon. T

Wow, if you think the big N needs to win people back now due to a small minority complaining, then you can’t have been there for the Wii U years 2012-2017 😂

For a while back then I thought the sound of tumbleweeds blowing mournfully down a deserted street was the background music for the main menu on the console!

‘You swapped three different N64 games for Pokemon Stadium? Where’s your pride? Your dignity?!?

‘…I traded it for a Pikachu’
