Topic: what does everyone think of cosplay?

wanted to know everyones thoughts on the matter arte getting into a small argument with a friend about it. we were going to a party at local comic book store. they were having prizew for themed looks and stuff. so when i got there my friend dressed as dupes got made for not dressing as green lantern instead i wore black blazed and jeans with a green shirt and black tie. we got into a small argument because my refusal ti cosplay. one could argue my reasons were shallow (get to that later) but not unheard.

i like display from a creative standpoint but with a few expections i doubt i would do for a couple of reasons. biggest,being I'm either always going to be Luke cage or green lantern.

so whatvare your thoughts on display and have you done it before.

As long as it's a cosplay that's good enough that it doesn't make the entire fandom look bad.

I went to a party as Henry from the No more heroes series before if that counts and I'm going to a fancy dress party for a friend's 18th. Does anyone know an online store that sells cosplay of JRPG characters in £s? I'm hoping to go as Mithos from Tales of Symphonia. I hope to go to a gaming convention in cosplay at some point in the future.

That depends on how much effort the cosplayer puts into the costume. I haven't cosplayed before, but I wouldn't be opposed to the idea...

Closest we can come in real life to Final Fantasy babes like Rosa, Rydia, Terra, Celes, Aerith, Tifa, Quistis, Garnet, Yuna, Lulu, Rikku, Ashe, Vanille, Fang, and last but not least, Lightning! Someday I'm going to find out if there's a cosplay community here in Oklahoma (not likely, but...). I think I could be a Hell of an Auron!

its not something i'd do other then halloween, i've been waluigi before, but i think alot of the ppl that do it are really good at what they do and it's always fun to look at how creative they get even if i have no clue who they are outside of videogame characters and the more mainstream anime designs.

i think i'll look foolish wearing a cosplay costume! however, like some have said on here, if it's something they want to do, props to them.
