But uh, @Anti-Matter there trying to kill him half the time, and in thief’s in time they were jacking up his family’s history.

And on top of clockwork killing his parents and probably him if he didn’t hide, I would say sly is sorta a anti hero a little bit, because a lot of the time his actions actually do more good then harm.

Yoshi's Island being branded as 'Super Mario World 2' feels tacked-on and unnecessary.

Don't think that's too unpopular of an opinion, it's clearly a spinoff.

@Euler thats how I always saw it. I have a sneaking suspicion it's just marketing hoopla that put that title on the SNES box. I can't say that I've witnessed many people getting worked up about it, but I know there are at least a few people out there that see it as SMW 2. Which is wrong!

@Losermagnet
It was just a way to get people interested in the game

Every game should have a demo, Not some platforms, every platform should get a demo for the game if its on the console.

@Snatcher Some games don't demo very well though. Games like Animal Crossing, or JRPGs that take hours to get invested in. I do think that the games with demos should have demos available on all the platforms it'll release on though.

@VoidofLight I at least think the games that can need to.

I actually don't think any game needs a demo TBH, But they are there just to give that player a feel for the game. And its true some games just don't fit having demos, But if not a demo a test of some sort. I mean I could look at all the reviews, gameplay what people say, But I'm never truly going to know if I don't play it.

So what you say is true, So what I meant to say was every game that can have a demo gameplay wise, should.

Majoras mask 3D is the better version. It looks better, has a better save system, and the song of double time is actually good in this game. Deku hopping is worse in 3D but over exaggerated by most people. Zora swimming in the original was only good in the ocean. In non wide open spaces it was just a pain. Also I like how they switched the upgraded magic meter from snow head to wood fall.

I agree, the same is true for Wario Land being called "Super Mario Land 3".

Wario Land at least looks and plays more like a Mario game (though different enough to be considered a spinoff). Hit blocks, collect coins and powerups, jump on enemies and the like. But online Mario toplists always either include Yoshi's Island or exclude it and have people whining in the comment sections about it not being included. Yet the same isn't true for Wario Land for whatever reason.

Eel

I think Wario Land having the Super Mario Land branding serves as a nice way to transition the series... Since it might be easy to forget, but it truly is a direct sequel to Super Mario Land 2.

Anti-Matter

Super Mario Odyssey storyline was not as strong as Sly Cooper 2 storyline.

Om Shanti Shanti Shanti Om...

@Anti-Matter If you're playing Mario for the story, then you're looking for the wrong game. The Mario games have always been about gameplay over story.

VoidofLight

@Anti-Matter That's not going to happen. It goes against the core idea of Mario in general. If you want story, play Zelda, or a JRPG like Persona 5.

Or you could play a Paper Mario game. They've generally got good stories.

@Anti-Matter Might I recommend Link's Awakening on Switch? It's generally considered to have a more engrossing and emotional story than most other Zelda games and it's probably one of the most traditional Zeldas you could get on Switch (not including games on NSO of course).

@Anti-Matter BotW is extremely different compared to every other game in the series. In BotW, the story is practically non-existent, but games like Link's Awakening, Twilight Princess, Windwaker, A Link Between Worlds, etc. have actual stories to them.

@Anti-Matter Mario is not a story base game, paper mario maybe but mario is not about the plot.

You have story games, and you have just games, and it doesn't really have a story along with it, Mario has stayed vanilla for years and it works, because your playing it for the gameplay and not the story.
