Well, it sounds like I was totally wrong about the next Nintendo console. Sounds like it will be brought up at E3. Still, we probably won't see a new Crossing on it for at least a couple of years because of the 3DS one.

Sonic: No on Animal Crossing pets. That would be kinda strange because all your neighbors are animals...
Kind of like the Pluto/Goofy thing I guess. lol.

JumpMad, no on the dying thing. I think we should leave that for the Sims games...

xDemon, WW was good, but so far, I like the orignal Crossing & City Folk better. That said, the 3DS Crossing should be really great. It should have holidays (I hope) and a ton of other great features.

About the punishing thing: its really not that big of a deal imo. Especially if its only 2 weeks. Its very easy to repair. Now if your gone for a few YEARS...than it might be an issue. Even a few months is not too bad though. For example: I was gone for many months from City Folk because my Wii wasn't working. I recently got the Wii fixed and started up City Folk. There were weeds (not as many as I thought there would be), the animals wondered where I was at, my hair was a mess, and there were dead flowers, but it wasn't that big a deal. All we had to do was pull the weeds, talk to the animals, get haircuts, and replace the dead flowers. Now our town is back to normal. Personally, I like the real time nature of the game. Its very unique. Its nice to have a game, imo, that misses you when you're gone. lol.

FiveMinuteHero, I like all of your ideas. I think all of that would be fun. Doubt they'll do any of that on the 3DS game (friend codes are def. back, but easier to manage this time), but it might be something they'd do for the next Nintendo system. Especially if the no friend code thing is true.

Like I said earlier, I don't think the punishing thing is that big a deal. But to each his or her own.

I like Harvest moon, but I don't know if I'd like an Animal Crossing meets Harvest Moon...

I would like Crossing to have more Online elements and outside furniture & for the animals to go back to having more dialogue like in the Cube & WW verisons (they do seem to repeat themselves more on the Wii). Not sure what else. I'm hoping for some cool suprises on the 3DS & next Nintendo console verisons. The franchise really does need to change some after three games that are pretty similar to each other. I'm a big fan of Crossing, but we do need some new stuff.

What if on wifi 1,000,000,000,000 people could play in the same town at the same time.

More stuff to customize your town. Not only stuff like the windmill, which provides a reward for racking up the hours, but things to customize the outside of your house, i.e., fences, a garage, shrubs, etc. I've seen people do some amazing things with their towns with just different types of flowers and paths; give us even more to work with.

One night a week when Nook's stays open late. For those of us who don't TT and don't want to be stuck with the small Nook's.

More shops. I've pretty much seen everything in Nookington's, Crazy Redd's and Gracie Grace.

Even bigger towns. CF's towns were pretty big, but let's go bigger.

A little bit of break with watering? Sheesh, I miss one day and my whole town is wilted.

More events.

@DF2506 Yeah... I really can't be bothered renewing it. I just want to carry on where I left off, not start all over bringing it all back to a healthy town again... what a waste of my time.

It might be alright for some people, but for others its just a pain in the ass.

The Sims needs to die by the way, such a horribly awful series

In the game I would hope that when someones town is open anyone could come but they (the creators) would have to not allow cutting trees, killing flowers, picking up designs, and cussing.

How about giving us more multiplayer options in upcoming games? More things to do. How about being able to buy water guns instead of just cans that you can use to water plants, and being able to have 10 friends in your town via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, and you can square off in a water gun fight. The game would even keep track of who's been hit by whom how many times and give a points score for each team or individual at the end of the time limit. Little things like that. Sort of like multiplayer minigames. Maybe a lumberjacking contest to see who chops more trees in a time limit. I'd also like to see the ability to create some new things. Maybe build a whole new house somewhere, and move to a different part of the town, designing the house in the shape and color and material you want from the ground up. It'd be a very detailed and expensive process, but it would be rewarding for the player. And maybe add in more weather effects, too. Let a hurricane blow through occasionally knocking down trees and maybe a house that all the neighbors can come together to rebuild. Things like that that make it a little bit more of a natural, less restrictive, living world. (Granted, some of this may already be in place. I know nothing about what's planned for Animal Crossing 3DS, and I haven't played one since the GC original.) Those are just what I'd really love to see, and what would make me invest in the series again.

Great idea! But I dont think Nintendo would allow peoples houses getting blow down because they may think its too violent.

No need for another Wii version. The 3DS will be the console to hopefully move Animal Crossing forward a bit. If they get it right with the Streetpass and WiFi functions then it could become a very popular game and could even be a system seller for the more casual gamers amongst us. That of course is if they get it right. Lets hope there are not too many restrictions on communication and trading. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with it though.I haven't played it since Gamecube as it hasn't really evolved from that first great game IMO.I think people forget how unique that game was at the time! Hopefully this will renew my interest in the franchise,it has massive potential.

What's this bit for again?

Woah there!
Have you played the game?
That game is awesome and I hope it never dies!

But with EA in charge instead of Maxis, I think it's just about to die after The Sims 4
