I am a Christian, and even I find this funny. I actually never knew that kids were stabbing eachother over pokemon cards, though... I suppose he as right when he said that what you ingest your mind with can make you act differently, but somehow I don't think Pokemon is violent or bloody enough to affect you much. The most it will do is get you teased when you throw a plastic pokeball in a fight.
I went to a Christian primary school. I remember when the Pokemon craze started in 98 and a small portion of the parents and a few of the teachers tried to ban it. At one point there was an assembly where we were told that Pokemon was evil because it promoted evolution which was against "God". Soon after that the cards were banned but by then most people were into Digimon already.
Interestingly they didn't ban the games themselves and we kept playing them and talking about them.

Haha, they got banned at my brother's elementary school, just because kids were gambling with them. (He would also sell rare ones to first graders for like $20).
