Series 2 of The Outlaws finished yesterday, I loved it. This might be a slightly clichéd thing to say about this show at this point but it has the perfect balance of comedy and drama - it's really funny while also being genuinely gripping. I'm crossing my fingers for a third series but if it has to end here at least all the characters got a satisfactory ending (except for poor Ben )
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music
Ms. Marvel had its finale today and all-in-all I liked this show.
It's far from perfect, especially episode 5 had its fair share of problems, but it's also very sweet and I love the character Kamala Khan. Overall, I think this was one of the better MCU Disney+ shows.
@seaboyluca, I should be able to start Ms Marvel this weekend as I only have one episode left in season 3 of the Man in the High Castle.
This year's Disney+ slate hasn't really been all that great IMO (heck, I think I liked that darned Rescue Rangers reboot more than any of the Star Wars or Marvel shows this year), but I'm willing to give it a fair shot.

@RR529
The D+ shows are of inconsistent quality, to say the least. The Mandalorian is still my favorite show the service has produced. Glad you liked Rescue Rangers, but it wasn't my cup of tea unfortunately.
When it comes to D+ original movies (not counting the 3 Pixar ones), I think Timmy Failure is my favorite.
Finished up season 3 of the Man in the High Castle last night.
Still pretty good, though I'm not sure how I feel about the more strictly sci-fi angle it's starting to take. I know they needed to explain the background logic behind the existence of the films (and it's something I've been asking myself) so I'm glad they've done that, but I'd still wish the core narrative would focus on the political tension between the Nazis, Japanese Empire, and how the resistance could take advantage of that, rather than going all in on chasing the multiverse angle.
That said, that lab scene in the final episode was pretty cool & almost Stranger Things-esque.

Finished Ms. Marvel. As I feared, with the rudderless first couple of episodes wasting so much time and Disney for some reason refusing to do more than 6 episodes a series, the Ms.Marvel finale was generally rushed and unsatisfying, with a climactic set piece that made me feel more like I was watching 2005's Sky High, rather than a proper MCU production. I do hope, however, that for those longing for representation, this satisfied at least some of that desire. They really were the strongest parts of this show for me, when they explored the social and cultural backdrop this is set against. And it seems like the creators felt the same way, as the worst parts were every time it seemingly begrudgingly had to go back and tick off a few MCU check boxes again.
(Oh and that Inhuman retcon [complete with jingle] so cringe and weird)
I'd say my Disney+ MCU ranking would probably look like:
1) Hawkeye
2) Falcon and Winter Soldier
3) Loki
4) Ms.Marvel
5) What If..?
6) Wandavision
7) Moon Knight.
90's era anime OVA miniseries set in "Cosplay City", a crime ridden gothic/sci-fi metropolis (though this aesthetic is dropped for a more generic "New York/Chicago" style big city half way through) that's on it's last legs as the Demon Lord Dolmec(?) is bearing his will down upon it. Luckily, it appears that the mayor's aid, Honey, is really the (amnesiac) android/magical girl "Cutie Honey" whom saved the city from evil forces a generation ago (I take it this acts as sort of a follow up to the original 70's series).
It's absolutely metal & cheesy as heck, with biker gangs, demons, an OTT gritty atmosphere that includes a bit of gore & copious amounts of nudity & sexual innuendo (mostly reserved for Honey's numerous transformations, with her metamorphosis into her "main" form during each episode's climax particularly graced with lavish animation graphically detailing her form, but there's also room for multiple S&M Dominatrix influenced villainess's, a look Honey herself will don at least once, not even counting her stint as a stripper). Heck, even some of our protagonists get in some light bank robbery on the side.
It's garbage, but it's so fun it doesn't really matter (and the bad 90's dub makes it even better, IMO). It really doesn't end up doing anything narratively (they write off the big bad halfway through, & the last few episodes are individual monster of the week affairs that foreshadow a new threat that never materializes), but I absolutely loved watching it (binged almost every episode in a day) even if many of it's moments absolutely wouldn't fly today. It certainly helps that the main theme is an absolute earworm of a bop as well.
I also want to give a shout-out to one of the special features (I got it on Blu-Ray). There's a video I'm assuming was some sort of marketing campaign back in the 90's during release that features a girl group dressed up as different versions of Honey singing the OVA's opening & ending themes. The group is dressed nearly as provocatively as the costumes in the anime, there were numerous posters around featuring a nude portrait of Honey (with certain bits cleverly covered), and they were giving out promotional materials related to it, all to an audience of children (with their parents) who looked to be no older than 6 years old. Given the graphic content of the series this was just so surreal to me, and really shows what wouldn't fly here culturally is (or at least was) totally acceptable over there.

@Kermit1 I just started recently myself. It has its charms, but some of the American references go over my head.
I watched some The Boys: Diabolical just now. It was okay for what it is. I get why people hate it; it has gratuitous violence and doesn't progress the mainline series' storyline in any meaningful way. But I think it has its moments.
It's pretty much an excuse for B-list celebrities to express their love for different animation styles, but I think it's fine doing standalone stories like these once in a while. Part of the reason why anime like Kino's Journey and Hell Girl didn't nearly gain the mass popularity other more linear stories did was because of such an anthological storytelling technique. I personally love anime that do standalone stories exploring a larger theme, so I don't really mind what Diabolical is trying to do at all. It does feel kinda hollow at times though, showing violence for violence's sake.
I heard from LotRs fans who complained about this trailer that Amazon was trying to pander towards non-LotRs fans, but that's probably a failure since it also looks dull to me. The huge amount of dislikes (which you can see with the Google Chrome extension that shows the dislike bar YouTube tried to hide) is no surprise.

I honestly don't get. Pander how exactly?
We don't even know anything about the story yet beside it taking place during the Second Age, and all they've shown so far are some gorgeous vistas and some shots of the main characters with out-of-context dialogue.
What happened to the concept of wait-and-see? Why hate on something you haven't seen yet? This might be the best show ever made, or it might suck. We don't know yet. So why not reserve judgment until you've seen it?
@seaboyluca Hey, don't shoot the messenger. All I said was that it looked dull, which is pretty much my feelings towards most medieval settings anyway.
I think Alex from the Angry Joe Show hated it on the Angry Joe trailer reaction video. He claimed he has read all the books, and he hated it for some reason I couldn't remember. Probably something to do with inaccurate portrayal of elements from the books. I don't know; I've never read the books.
Might have something to do with 1) how clean the actors look in a medieval setting, no dirt, no grime, and 2) something to do with race that I won't bother addressing because that's a can of worms better off not opened.
