A few ideas I had, I might end up with more later.
1. Mario & Rabbids: KB - (Yoshi) - I've been having an absolute blast with this game, and a big part of that comes down to how unique each character is. Yoshi however, is somewhat of an exception in that he's somewhat of a Mario 2.0, I guess that's somewhat okay since you can't remove Mario from your party, so it gives you the option of a second Mario, but I'd rather something like a mobile, single target healer.
2. Overwatch - (Lose Ultimate Charge on Death) - I know this is like the third time I've complained about this damn game, but this is by far my biggest issue with the game. Ultimates give too much reward for too little effort, and the tiniest bit of coordination makes them game changing. Ubercharge in TF2 had the right idea.
Increase Ult charge speed by 25%
Lose 50/75% of current charge on death
The only issue I can see with this is that OW has a lot of dumb one-shot bull, but that should be an obvious thing to fix. Sniper headshots are an exception though, nothing wrong with that.
3. The Forest - (Baby Mutants) - Not a major issue at all, but I think that they should make a noise while they're preparing to jump at you, not just while they jump at you. That jump can take a ton of health and considering you almost always find them in groups or with a Virginia, it'd be a nice tweak.
Skyward Sword - Remember that you've told me what a regular common collectable item is before. I don't need to be told what a beetle is the first time I catch one every. single. time. I reload the game.
Splatoon 2 - Fast forward button for Marina & Pearl. You're great but get. on. with. it! Also a co-op version of the campaign and an 8-team raid mode.
Super Mario Sunshine - No more Blue Coins. At the very least an indicator telling you how many there are in each level/mission (and how many of those you've collected). Also a better camera, reinstatement of the long jump when you don't have FLUDD and making the 'clean-up' missions less picky about whether you've got every bit of paint.
Pikmin 2 - Don't let Olimar punch. Honestly I got through most of the dungeons without losing a single Pikmin... because I punched enemies to death myself. It took ages.
Mario Kart (any version) - Add a "skill-mode" that fixes the content of each question box (and signposts what's in it). Or even remove items completely. This would remove a lot of the random element and mean that the best player should win more consistently. It'd break the game for most people but I'd like the option.
Honestly surprised this topic won (not really disappointed, just seems like a surprising pick compared to the other options, IMO). Anyhow...
Crash Bandicoot - Guaranteed save spots every few levels (instead of a chance to save every other level, if you manage to unlock, and complete, a bonus stage).
Don't really have more than that. There are things in other games that bug me, but nothing that either hasn't already been said, or that I could really think of how to fix.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
Xenoblade Chronicles/3D: Add in substantive side-quests throughout the game so the open areas don't feel like a complete waste of space. Remove fall damage like in XCX. Also, streamline the U.I. and remove the affinity requirement to access heart-to-heart scenes (seriously, what an annoyance!). Finally, redub it with American actors so my ears don't bleed every time I play it.

I'm not going to rank any of these, but here are a few things I would change.
Pikmin 3 - Improve the AI for the Pikmin. I'm told it was even worse in previous entries. You would think that since these creatures are capable of surviving without direction that they would be smart enough to not jump into the water if you pass really close to it when drawing a route....I get that some of the game is up to giving your troops directions, but IMO there's a fine line between directing a fairly intelligent creature versus completely controlling a mindless one.
Metroid Prime - As much as I love this game, some of the level design needs tweaking. Part of this is to make some areas more accessible, and I still maintain that some areas could use another save station or two.
Recent Pokemon games - Okay, I get trying to make these more accessible, but there's almost too much railroading these days. I would think most kids today would be just as capable as I was at their age to play Pokemon games with the difficulty and (to an extent) the non-linearity of the earlier games. At least create a Veteran or "I've played this before" mode of some sort.
This is also a personal preference, but I'd like to see a potentially dark Pokemon spinoff where your choices do matter.
The first Metroid Prime was perfect imho, but MP2 and MP3 were much worse so if I had to change something I'd say try to make the sequel as good as the first one or don't make the sequel at all and change the true ending of the first game to remove the cliffhanger
I used to be a ripple user like you, then I took The Arrow in the knee
This is a great topic! I'll stick with Breath of the Wild for this one
1) UI Design- Make shortcuts to healing items so I don't have to fumble through the menu every time I want to heal. Also make shortcuts have rows (ie combine changing swords and shields to right on the d pad and just have swords be one row, and shields be another row.)
2) Story progression-Change the story so that there's some sort of event that occurs when you've completed half of the dungeons. Maybe Ganon becomes aware of your efforts and tries to send an army to stop you.
3) Ending-I'm not going to spoil the ending but I wish what Zelda says to me at the end would have more bearing on what I did throughout the game. It feels like a generic catch all ending that doesn't take into consideration what you actually accomplished.
4) Armor- Reduce armor strength in order to maintain balance of combat. Far too easy to become overpowered by the end of the game
5) Weapon Durability- I wont say to ditch this system, just tweak it. Breaking pots, barrels, crates should not count towards reducing durability (unless it's with a hammer or some sort of tool weapon). Also increase durability for most weapons, durability is on the low end and I think weapons should last longer.
6) Make a dedicated tools slot- I want to be able to carry a hammer, korok leaf, and other items without it counting as a weapon and taking up a slot in my weapons list. I would prefer it to be categorized as a tool rather then a weapon and have its own section in the inventory.
7) Character development- Develop the champions more as characters because they felt flat and underdeveloped. Include more cutscenes where you get to know them more
8) More story- Story felt fairly bare bones to me. Include more story cutscenes that flesh out the world and lore.
One other little tweak I just thought of whole playing Sonic Mania, I find in all the classic Sonic games he's playable in, Knuckles has a bit too much landing lag after his glide. Nothing major, but there's no way around it and it's a bit of a momentum killer.

Definitely agree on point 1. The UI could stand to be overhauled. I'd also like to see food sorted into broader types to make navigation easier. For example, include all steak dishes in one category, stews in another, etc.
Regarding point 3... do you mean the default ending? Because there's a default ending you get that doesn't take into account your progression, and then a secondary ending scene if you complete all of the main story content.
Another thing I'd like to see added to Breath of the Wild is a recipe book. It's a pretty dumb thing to omit, imo.

As someone who considers the first Metroid Prime to be my favorite game LITERALLY ever, this is a terrible idea. Metroid Prime is such a lightning in a bottle game that I find it hard to believe they could've made a comparable game no matter how talented they were. Probably similar reasons why Majora's Mask went in an odd direction after OOT. And I don't agree with every idea in the sequels. but they're still better than most games and the new parts of them are almost never boring, so I'd much rather have them then Retro either NSMB or Sticker Star-ing it up. (NSMB is my term for soulless homogenization and Sticker Star is now a term for failed attempt to innovate, factually. 2012 was a terrible year for Mario)
Dynamically adjust the game in Turf Wars if someone drops out. There are no points at stake - the mode is just for fun - but 4v3 isn't really fun for either side. So why not artificially power up the team with 3 to give them a chance to win. Like maybe double their ink storage or the power of their weapons or give them the equivalent of ink armour.
Dynamic & unexpected events in turf mode. Like the fog that sometimes rolls in on Salmon Run. Or maybe halfway through it starts raining and washes away the ink on half of the map.
A couple more calls attached to the d-pad. Sometimes I'd like to tell my teammates in Salmon Run to retreat or fall back (particularly when we've already met the quota and just need to stay alive but also occasionally to lure a boss back to the cage). Salmon Run does suffer for not having the ability to pull up the map to show you what's happening elsewhere.
Sorry I left this so late again, meant to do this earlier but had to finish an essay last night and the night before I had a little get-together for my girlfriend's birthday.
That aside, New Poll! Now, I've gone back to four options for this one, I'll change it back if you guys prefer five, just thought I'll give it a go.
The only area where I think MP2 is worse than MP1 is its pacing which isnt as smooth and brisk as MP1. All three games in the trilogy are must-play imo.
Having played Prime 1 & 2 of MPT, I agree with this paragraph. I liked Echoes and feel that it's nearly as good as MP1 in many aspects, but it did have a couple of pacing issues.
I daresay a couple of the bosses in Echoes were there more to troll Samus/the player.
Quick little update, I'll close the poll earlyish tommorow. Unless anything changes, we've a fairly clear winner and I think some patient people'll be very happy. My one got no votes but ehhh, I got what I wanted last time.
earlyish tommorow
So much for that then.
Anyways, results are in, here they are.
1st - Mainline Kirby Games - 50% (6 Votes)
2nd - Games You Like in Genres You Dislike - 25% (3 Votes)
3rd - Underpowered Characters/Things You Still Love Using - 17% (2 Votes)
4th - Mainline Resident Evil Games - 8% (1 Votes)
So there you have it, as some have been anticipating, Mainline Kirby Games is our new topic! I won't have much to say on this one, I love Kirby but my first game was Kirby's Adventure Wii and my 3DS just kinda collects dust so I've missed out there.
Also, completely unrelated, but I ranked up in Street Fighter V to 'Super Bronze' today and I just find the idea of the rank above 'Bronze' being 'Super Bronze' funny. Like you couldn't get any closer to "Congrats! You're in the best of this cest-pool of braindead terrible players! You're still in here though."
It's like becoming Assistant Manager at McDonalds.
6. Kirby's Dream Land 2 (GB) - I just... didn't have much fun with this one. It's not a terrible game by any means, but I just felt "meh" all the way through, and didn't care for the animal buddies. Never bothered to find all the secrets to face the true boss.
5. Kirby's Dream Land (GB) - It's simple & short, but it was the first Kirby game I ever owned. I make sure to run through it a few times a year.
4. Kirby & the Amazing Mirror (GBA) - I actually really liked this one, and the fact that I had just got into "Metroidvanias" at the time didn't hurt (played Metroid Fusion, Super Metroid, and Cave Story around the same time). Sure, the map could have definitely been better, but the core Kirby gameplay was as solid as ever, and I liked it's unique structure.
3. Kirby's Adventure/Nightmare in Dreamland (NES/GBA) - Actually played NiD first, as it was one of my first GBA games. Just a real solid, iconic Kirby adventure & I love going back to fight the final boss from time to time (have the 3D variation of Adventure on 3DS).
2. Kirby: Planet Robobot (3DS) - As others have said, this is a heavily polished adventure with a very different vibe to the rest of the series, and an awesome addition in the Robobot. The only thing I haven't yet done is clear the True Arena, as it kicks my butt pretty hard, lol.
1. Kirby Super Star/Ultra (SNES/DS) - Super Star was my first experience with Kirby, and while that nostalgia certainly plays a part in it's placing, it sure as heck earned it with Ultra. Just a very fantastic game, and I loved the additions in the remake.
I've also played 64, but it's been so long I can't properly rank it (maybe around the same spot as Amazing Mirror?).
I'll be honest: I've never played a Kirby game. Dunno why, I was just never really interested in the series for the longest time. Nowadays its piqued my interest a little, but I just haven't gotten around to picking up one of the titles and trying it out.
FINALLY! There are several Kirby games I haven't played, but...
Honorable Mentions: Kirby Epic Yarn and Mass Attack
These are my favorite Kirby games, but they aren't mainline titles so they just receive an Honorable Mention.
1. Kirby Planet Robobot
The Robobot Armor is the best "gimmick" the series has seen yet and the final boss is spectacular. Extremely pleased with this one.
2. Kirby's Return to Dream Land
Water is the best ability.
3. Kirby Triple Deluxe
My least favorite of the modern titles, but still a very good game. Definitely worth picking up, and has some standout moments.
4. Kirby Super Star
This game brought so many innovations into the series, and it's still fun to pick up and play today. I just prefer the newer titles because of how they expanded on the Kirby formula.
5. Kirby's Adventure
One of my favorite NES games, and enjoyable, but has several shortcomings that would be fixed in later versions (you lose your ability every time you are hit AND you can only fly with the up button; these were changed in Super Star)
6. Kirby's Dream Land 2
For a handheld Kirby game, it's great. Do I recommend it? Yes. It's just that all the above games are better.
7. Kirby's Dream Land
The one that started it all. It doesn't have Copy Abilities, and it is extremely short, but, again, still a good game. Just don't expect too much compared to the rest of the series.
8. Kirby and the Amazing Mirror
The only Kirby game I truly dislike. The game's non-linear nature just did not work well due to the awful map and progression being tied to Copy Abilities.
