What would make a game absolutely perfect, free from all criticisms or down points? What would a game that does everything right be like? This is not about whether or not something like this could ever exist, because in all likelihood it never will. But what would the perfect game be? (It might also be interesting to speculate on just how close a game could come to being "perfect").
Since there are plenty of genres of games and people like different things there would never be one perfect game. There have been many games that have been almost perfect for their respective defined genres - we can only hope there will be more of them in the future. If anyone knew how to make a 'perfect' game though it would laready exist. >.<

So, as I thought, the perfect game would be one that everyone could enjoy? One that perfectly captured the essence of every game genre?
If it was a zelda game, with multiple Easter eggs to other games, a gigantic menacing moon with a face, an insanely insane villain in the form of a mask that possesses people and the constant threat of the world ending looming over you in an eerie fashion, ghengis would be the perfect game.

You can make a good game that's apreciated by a range of people - but making a perfect game for everyone is impossible - if only because ones sense of fun doesnt apply to everyone elses. Each person has a tendancy to enjoy some games more than others - so I suppose in theory there's a perfect game for every inividual person. Again though, it's very hard to tell what kind of game would entertain you immensely until you actually find and play it.
What does "perfect game" even mean. I mean, if it means a game that works well enough so that nothing needs to be added or taken away, we already have one: Tetris.

I have to agree with this. Tetris being the example though, I'm not quite sure of, but I do agree with that reasoning.
I have to say that Dark Souls is perfect in that I wouldn't change anything about it--I can't say the same for most of my other favorite games (FFIX, MGS3, P3, MHP3, etc.). There's not one thing I can think to change in that game at all. Graphics, gameplay, controls, music, story... It's complete and perfect imo well there's the framerate in blighttown but... eh
Of course, it's not my favorite game. But that's another thing altogether
