Topic: The NLife Authors Thread

Hello, my fellow wordsmiths! I noticed we have threads for the Artists, the Cinephiles, and even the Foodies of this lovely site, but nothing for the Writers! It is time to fix that--so welcome, one and all, to The NLife Authors Thread! Feel free to share your works here; whether that be a goofy short story, an eloquent stage play, or a dignified novella, or perhaps something else entirely, please give it to us! And of course, check out other folks' tales. Offer constructive criticism, heartfelt encouragement, or scathing reviews (preferably not the last one) as you deem fit!

@CaleBoi25, all present and accounted for! It will probably be several more years before I actually get a book published, but when I do, this place will definitely be one of the first places that I share the details! 😃 Will definitely read the stories you've posted and share my thoughts on them later, when I have a bit of spare time. Probably this evening.

Edit: perhaps every once in a while, I'll ask for suggestions on this Thread on things like potential plot arcs for some of my stories that have a bunch of them (your chance to affect a potentially popular book series). For example, one of my series with a lot of plot arcs is one that I will probably start in the near future: an anime-inspired reincarnation isekai with inspiration from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the monsters will all be my own designs, and I'm having just a little bit of trouble coming up with a ton of designs.

@ShieldHero ooh, sounds good! And yes, definitely drop anything here for suggestions! I'd love to help sketch out some creatures, too, at some point

@CaleBoi25, I finally read through all your stories, I liked them a lot. That Titanic Savior story almost made me cry (in a good way), and I almost never cry when watching or reading things, it was just so well written. Also, on that Fandom site, it said that you have selected topics for short story contests before. That's really cool! About the topic of contests, I'm going to be submitting a short story to a children's Christian publishing company for a contest they're doing for young authors, the chosen winners get their stories published in a short story collection. If my story gets chosen, I'm going to be published for the first time. The prompt for the contest is "memory box". I have to submit it by the end of this month, and I think I'm almost done with it. I'll share the results of the contest on this Thread for sure, and if my story makes it into that collection, I'm definitely buying a copy for myself 😃!

@CaleBoi25 Just read the first of your stories there and really liked it, the music and colour theming is done very well! But if you don't mind a bit of constructive pedantry, I'll point out that Moonlight Sonata is Beethoven

@Dogorilla OH MY WORD YOURE RIGHT!! I had it as Beethoven in the first draft, then wanted to do a more obscure Motzart piece and changed the name but forgot to change the song! Thanks for the heads up lol

Finally finished my short story! I just have one quick question. I wrote it on Google Docs, so if I shared it on here, it would be a Google Doc. I believe sharing those here is possible, but if I share it here, no one will be able to edit it, right? I just want to make sure.

@ShieldHero I think you would have to double check the settings are Read Only for anyone other than you. I'm not sure, since I use Microsoft Word, but it's probably similar.
