I got a question, is a PS4 worth it right now? I don't want a PS5 (I ain't paying $800).

@EaglyPurahfan I'm looking at getting Gran Turismo Sport, Uncharted Trilogy, and Ratchet & Clank (the remake/reboot one).

I wouldn’t get a PS4, save for a PS5. The games are backwards compatible and you will have newer releases.

Also there are a good amount of games that aren’t rated M. If I can find games that aren’t rated M, then you definitely can.

@blindsquarel my brother is saving for a PS5. I like Playstation but not enough to spend $800 CAD.

Right now the PS4 is cheap and so are the games, my current mindset is to get it while it's cheap. But things could change, I was once gonna get a PS Vita and as fate had it I never got it (it was on ebay btw last year).

Oh I see. That does seem like a lot, especially if you don’t have a ton of games you’re interested in. If the PS4 is cheap then go for it. But I would check if the games you want aren’t already on PC. For example, I know Spider-Man and the uncharted games are on PC. Not sure about the others you listed though.

Are the horizon games any good? I’ve had my eye on them for awhile, but just can’t seem to bite the bullet. I also need to play uncharted sometime.

I’ll take your word for it. Even so, I may pick them up when they are on a steep sale. The only open world games I like are the Zelda ones and I have a not so small positive bias towards the series.

@EaglyPurahfan I don't really play Xbox much (they're my brother's), but I was able to get Forza 4 and 5 running on my PC quite well, Forza 5 was a freaking pain to want to launch (if it even did) which is more a Playground Games problem than a PC one. If I do get a PS4 I will probably play stuff that won't run well on my PC or stuff that Switch or Xbox don't have.

@blindsquarel a PS4 is currently $380, in-store and on Amazon.

but this is all just a big if right now.

and as I see it, Xbox Series X (I hate the name) and PS5 don't have many "big deal" games to make me really want one. As for the Steam Deck, I'm waiting for a V2.

Yeah there definitely isn’t a huge draw to the systems if you don’t play M rated games. Heck the only reason I bought one was for Spider-Man and Gotham Knights.

@blindsquarel the real reason I really want one is for Gran Turismo but... It seems like the new Forza Motorsport is gonna beat it, my PC might be able to play it on low settings but I'm not counting on it since it is gonna be the big next-gen racing game, unlike GT7.

I have only played Forza Horizon 4, 5, and a tiny bit of 3 (wasn't really vibing with the world).

To be honest I wouldn’t recommend buying one. One game probably isn’t worth it.

@blindsquarel yep. A Series X is looking mighty fine now... The only issue now is where the heck am I gonna put a giant tower.

@Professor_Plumber Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart? Ya but the Uncharted Collection on PC only has 4 and the Vita game (from what I know).
