@VoidofLight
I am happy to hear that you are feeling better now. It is good to have you back!
@ThatZeldaNerd
Please enjoy your break and return, if you feel like it. You are always welcome here. And you are right, the mood plays a big role, whether we enjoy something or not. The good times will come back, do not worry about it.
@NeonMullet I think JaxonH just drifted away. I got the sense he probably wasn't getting the engagement in the forums that anywhere near matched his exuberance for stuff. I noticed a pattern whereby he tended to make posts full of beans about some new game or other and got pretty much crickets in return. He did reappear briefly at some point this year, but the same thing happened, so I think he's just moved on. It's a shame, I miss his energy and love for the scene, but I was never quite on the same wavelength as his and am not a heavy poster in the forums, so didn't feel I could meet his needs. I hope he's faring well wherever he is and gaming just as hard as ever. Be nice to see him return but I'm not holding my breath.
@gcunit RE Jax: I agree. One can only play to an empty room for so long. (unless you're Anti)
He also had conflicts with some of the less... exuberant regulars, which led to mutual ignores, and some of the rest of us kind of detached from video game world for a while and didn't engage. And I think a lot of more casual users didn't quite gel with the showman-esque energy of his posting style.
I do miss his posts, but, in his shoes, I probably would have done the same thing.
I'll admit for someone who frequents a gaming forum I don't actually spend much time in the actual gaming discussions (I usually stick to the General Discussion section these days), but I like silently keeping up with the Direct, Switch 2, etc. threads, and they're definitely missing something without his energy. Maybe it's just because I haven't checked those threads out as much as I have in the past, but I haven't seen as much of Skywake(?) either lately.
EDIT: Nevermind about Skywake. They're still here... I just haven't been in the Direct thread since mid August and I'm dozens of pages behind, lol.
I haven’t really thought about it much, but it’s insane JaxonH is no longer posting here. Always knew him for his Monster Hunter posts, and he was always pretty interesting to talk with.

Still on the current topic, for some reason, it makes me sad when I see an account on here that has been inactive for months or even years.
I do not know, even though I am fairly new to this site (I followed NL for three to four years but only just made an account in April) seeing some of the people I saw when I didn't have an account suddenly not post makes me sad, makes me hope that they are fine and makes me wonder a bit about what is going on in their lives. Sometimes, when I go on some of the forums that have been around for about a decade or so since the late 2000s to early 2010s, I go back to the very first page and look at all the accounts that haven't posted in forever, and looking at when they last commented, even though I never talked to them and never will. It feels a bit sad that a few people no longer post on here or have deleted their accounts. Makes the community feel a bit smaller, especially if it's a person you talk to a lot regularly and enjoy their company a lot.
I think I have heard of JaxonH, I read some of his Monster Hunter comments before making an account on this site. Even though I never interacted with him, it makes me disappointed to hear he has been super quiet on here. A bit surprised I haven't seen any of his comments on the forums, given I go on forums way more than actually reading articles and only making occasional comments on articles that interest me.

About JaxonH, I remember his boundless optimism would often attract people wanting to prove him wrong on whatever game or topic he was talking about, so I’m not surprised he decided to take a break from the site; but nevertheless I’m sure he’s fine.
@NeonMullet
Lol, original meal. 😄
Everybody ages differently, unfortunately. Not saying eating healthy isn't important, it really is, but I'm already suffering from arthritis in my lower back and feet. No amount of beans will be able to help with that. 🥲
@NeonMullet For the most part I enjoyed conversing with JaxonH but you are right. At times he would get so passionate over something and he would come off as that was the one and only way of doing things and every other way was wrong. I remember going at it about Gyro aiming with him. He was so adamant that that was the only way to enjoy FPS games and such and while I agree with him that it definitely can add a certain level of enjoyment to a game it's not that the game wasn't enjoyable without it. I remember posting in a thread one time asking for advice on which TV to get that to enjoy my Series X and I had a certain budget. He told me that it wasn't possible at that price range and that I would have to go outside my budget. Other people said it was but granted spending more money I would get a better experience which I understood but again it was out of my budget. His response was well if I couldn't afford it then I shouldn't be gaming. I was like WTF??
Still overall I did enjoy conversing with him just had to know which subjects to avoid with him and overall he was a great addition to the community here.

I didn't interact with Jaxon that much but I do miss his posts, he highlighted a lot of interesting games that not many other people spoke about and the Nintendo Switch thread was so much more active when he was here.
I'll give you a point for each quote you can correctly guess its source...
I know the second quote is Mario Kart Tour, but I'm stumped by the first one...
@NeonPizza While this thread is in this reflective mood, I'll ask something I've been wondering for a while: why do you delete and remake your account so often?
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music
@Dogorilla
Yup.
I noticed that user NeonPizza was NeonMullet and WaveBoy with tendency of delete and remake his account after boasting about retro games stuffs.
