It's been awhile since I've been in this thread. Between life and games, quite a bit happened. I saw Smurfs (contrary to popular opinion, I loved the movie), got several new PC games because of sales that were happening, and been playing them (for those curious, I got the Pizza Connection games, Black Mesa, and the Heretic and Hexen Collection). It's a hot day, so I spent a good chunk of the afternoon in my room keeping cool playing Asphalt Legends Unite.

How's everyone been?

@Sunsy Hi there, it has been a while, I've been wondering about you lately. I hope you're doing well. I'm doing pretty good, quite a bit happened on my end as well... I recently got a Switch 2 with Mario Kart World bundled, and I'm enjoying the heck out of it. That's cool you got those PC games on sale, hope you're liking them, glad to see you loved the Smurfs movie. And yes, it's getting hot here as well. I'm eternally grateful for stuff like air conditioners and cold water during these times, lol.

@MarioVillager92 I'm doing well, glad you're doing good. Cool, enjoy it! I got to try Switch 2 last week, I went out for a day to myself, bought a Trolls book and Target had a playable Switch 2.

Yeah I have fun with business sim games like Rollercoaster Tycoon and Theme Hospital, so been loving the Pizza Connection games (Pizza Tycoon as it was called back in 1995). Heretic is cool too, it's basically Doom, with a fantasy theme. Smurfs was good, as someone who's been following the Smurfs since 2017, I have to say it exceeded my expectations.

Indeed. I've been getting up early just to get chores and errands done before it gets too hot. Also good since I could enjoy the rest of my day in my room playing games on Switch and PC, or putting on stuff on YouTube.

@Sunsy Thanks, I'm indeed enjoying it! The game is quite a bit better than I thought it would be, actually. My new profile picture is actually from a screenshot I took from one of my online races! I also played a couple GameCube games on NSO/Nintendo Classics and the Switch 2 edition of Breath of the Wild. I've not tried out GameChat yet, but I would like to sometime. That's cool, my Target had a playable Switch 2 kiosk as well. What are your thoughts from what you've played?

Nice, I think I played Rollercoaster Tycoon a few times? Been a while, I remember playing PC games like that at school years ago. I looked up Heretic, it does look like a cool game. That's awesome, I don't think I've seen too much of the Smurfs aside from the original cartoons.

That's good to get those done early, the heat gets ridiculous once we get past the morning and stuff. Summer is such a boiler of a season, haha. I already want fall to come.

@Jhena Calamity Fanon was more a weird joke from when Breath of the Wild released.
The idea that bad fanworks were "Calamity Fanon". So yeah.

Ah. I thought Mystic Quest was something different. Now we have like, 4 different names for the first game, excluding Sword of Mana.

Mariotag

Jhena

@Mariotag
Yes, it can get really confusing with so many names. And Mystic Quest got two remakes, if I am correct. Sword of Mana and Adventures of Mana.

@Mariotag Tried to use 3D music videos while playing my rhythm game today and it kept lagging so bad at the beginning…I kind of found the classic Sonic games a bit hard to play on phone because of how the control sticks are directly on the screen. I was able to complete CD twice though, my first run being as Sonic and the second one with Tails, but I couldn’t ever do it with Sonic 2.

I know Bluesky was big when changes were coming to Twitter but now I really hear nothing about it, likely because Twitter still has a big userbase. If Twitter DID shut down, then maybe Bluesky would have been talked about way more.

Always good to ask artists and making sure they’re comfortable with their art being used or reposted. I barely see anyone else doing it, but it’s even worse with reposts…again, Pinterest is full of it, and I get so annoyed when I can recognize an artist’s style in multiple pictures on there and then the reposter doesn’t bother writing the name down in the description. Pretty sure they also do it without the artist’s permission too.

Ooh, that thing about Microsoft Edge sounds bad…good thing I barely used it on the Xbox because of how bad it runs on console, if that screenshot thing was ever used on the console. I think everyone expects ANY company to be stealing information or invading people’s privacy and personal information without letting others know, but then of course there are also hackers. There was one time last year where I was super paranoid about my personal info being stolen and it bothered me so bad every day…

I wonder how it applies here…maybe because NL kind of isn’t exactly a social media app? I don’t see it quite as a social media app since it’s a news site. I think Twitter would have actually broken the law if the block button was outright removed; while it still exists, the only change they made is that the people you block can still see your account and posts on their end, but cannot interact with you or your posts. But, I still think that change sounded terrible despite them not removing it fully because it kind of removes the purpose of a block button since the users you block can still see your account anyway. In fact, it sounds more like “ignoring” than actually “blocking” if your stuff is still visible to blocked accounts.

I think that’s kind of a weird way for your friend to interpret something like that…that doesn’t even sound like what he possibly thought that resulted in a misunderstanding that ultimately resulted in him cutting communication completely. Sorry things didn’t turn out well between you and him especially since he’s moving…

Don’t feel bad about making people wait, again, please take your time when choosing to reply to message on NL. I tend to take a few days to respond too, though I’ll also admit it’s from being a bit lazy lol. Though, there were times where I do respond to someone on here and I sometimes worry if I upset them or rubbed them the wrong way if I don’t get a response…I don’t want to have any beef or bad blood between anyone on here, but it reminds me of this time where I upset another user on here and how embarrassed I felt afterward…I got all defensive over a game they weren’t interested in and what makes it worse is that it was someone I regularly chat with on one of NL’s sister sites, so I messed up real bad there and came off as very fanboy-ish…I try to now be very careful with what I say and how I word things because I came off as super hypocritical that time. I say hypocritical because I don’t like it when people get defensive and angry toward someone else just for not liking a game like anyone else, but it wasn’t until after I wrote my reply that I realized I was acting EXACTLY like the people I criticize. When I mess up and it makes someone angry, I feel ashamed, but I feel ashamed anyway even if it’s a small mistake, but I think that’s my low self-esteem making it worse. And I’m sorry about those questions you have, I do sometimes feel like that too sometimes and just worry about how I come off toward people.

@MarioVillager92 Good that you’re liking it. It’s so nice having a new game and pouring a huge amount of time into it…I still remember getting Splatoon 2 on the Switch and then pouring so much time into that game and only that one lol. In fact, I think for a while it was the only Switch game I played the most.

I am very bad at lightly sketching, I tend to press my pencil against the paper very hard but that is a very helpful tip. Yeah, I have a few ideas in my head right now and I wanna try drawing those first. I actually want to draw fanart of five to six characters, so maybe when I get drawings of those characters done I’ll start to practice, but it will take me some time, unless I’m fast enough.

Yeah, it stinks wanting to love an art material and then finding out it didn’t work. Oil paint especially, so much money down the drain and I didn’t do enough research on it, so I ruined a handful of brushes too, but I don’t really mind anymore since I donated all my remaining good painting supplies so they’ll actually get used. At least me now knowing how I felt about paint will advise me not to buy anymore of it since I couldn’t use it well. I think I heard linseed oil is the best to use when cleaning brushes after oil painting, but I didn’t have any, so the brushes got ruined. Yes, watercolor can give a nice look and affect! I have huge respect for people who do it because it’s hard for me. I’m not the best when it comes to wet materials, because you need to act fast so it doesn’t look bad.

I have tried to play rhythm games on console but I’m so used to mobile rhythm games that I can’t play using a controller and tapping buttons instead of directly tapping a screen. I tried playing one called DJMax Respect V and I failed instantly lol. The only rhythm game I really play right now is Colorful Stage!/Project Sekai. I’m not good at traditional fighting games, when I play them, it’s just repeatedly spamming and clicking random buttons to see what sticks lol, but I am better at playing platform fighters like Smash, probably my most favorite fighting game ever. Yes, I like shooters like Splatoon a lot, haven’t really played Doom or Halo, but I also like Overwatch a lot, or used to, since I barely play it anymore. Third-person shooters are my most favorite.

Yeah, kind of the same, not saying PlayStation is bad, but I’m not really interested in it right now. But, I still have plenty of good memories playing it and the games me and my family had on there, I just find myself more interested in Nintendo’s stuff. I think it maybe has to do with the look and tone of the games…Sony makes a lot of games that are really detailed and realistic looking, but I find myself not being that interested in games like that, not saying it’s bad of course, but I’m drawn more to Nintendo because a majority of their games look colorful, cartoony, and are silly, and I love seeing those in a game or pretty much anything. But I do know Sony does occasionally make makes that are also cartoony and lighthearted, I think I’d be more interested in playing those.

I can imagine how good the load times are on the Switch 2. I saw a short video where someone was playing SSBU and the load time for a match was way faster than it is on the OG Switch.

I think that game had a very interesting development cycle and story, but again, I probably would have played it either way if it did get released in its original state, I usually like playing anything Rare related, but I find myself being more interested in their older stuff more than their newer stuff. Yeah I already feel like people moved onto Nintendo’s newer consoles around the time Bad Fur Day came out, maybe if it did get released on GameCube maybe it would’ve had the chance to sell more and get more recognition, but I think them doing that would’ve been super unrealistic.

It’s so hard to avoid spoilers for Bananza, I’m 100% sure I have now gotten out of context spoilers about it’s late game content from artwork online…though, at least I haven’t seen any footage from the game that has spoilers…on Raiders, it seems very interesting they are making a Splatoon game that’s solely story focused and I think they said single-player only? I haven’t played Splatoon in a while, but I think it’s super cool it’s finally getting a spin-off, especially since Deep Cut is going to be one of the main focuses on the game. It makes perfect sense that they’re the main characters this time around, given the previous two idol groups already had the spotlight in the previous game’s story modes.

@Jhena video games music is great, it is still created with passion, something that modern slop music and movies cannot even hope to emulate.

Wild west was a dark realm indeed, much darker than any game would dare portray.

In my opinion, it is absolutely the same. In a video game you need to complete an objective to see the next part of the story. Shooting someone to activate a script is no different than turning a page, since you have no choice in the matter. If you want to see the next part of the story, you need to perform said action. There was a game where you had to drop a white phosphorus bomb on civilians. It's a horrible banned weapon. Many people feel strongly about it but what can you do? You either do it or... not complete the game. It is not your choice, so whatever.

As for humans acting according to animal nature, there is an interesting thing called the halo effect. Humans' reaction towards others is strictly dictated by whether they find others attractive. It is very strong and subconscious, but proven time and time again. And it comes from back when humans had to favor the healthiest, strongest units in the herd/tribe to survive

Bring me the sesame, miso, citrus and pepper flavored fish cakes

@Princess_Lilly
To be honest, after Mario Kart World and Bananza I lost my faith in modern media, even the music. Mario Kart World feels like more than 70% is just remixes of Nintendo's past glory and Bananza is too much modern nihilistic slop. There probably still exists great music, but right now, I do not even want to try new games. I am playing Final Fantasy IX now, no complaints there. It is just right.

It feels different to me and I do not feel responsible for the actions of book protagonists. But I do feel like my heart is telling me to stop reading, if it gets to dark, like it happened when I read War and Peace. What is similar is the feeling, that I should not engage with this kind of content.

I just try to stay away from this herd/tribe thing.

So are the writers and us as a "fanbase" just kind of ignoring "The Rizzler" has become one of the main faces of Nintendo marketing. Literally saw an article about poor Alison Brie having to play MKW with him, I'm sure that was her always her dream getting into acting. E: Also apparently for an R-rated movie where her and Dave Franco bang so... extra confusion now...

What is interesting though is that I do not remember feeling remorse, when I played games like Dino Crisis 2, Return to Na Pali, Heavy Metal @.#.!.$.$ 2 and stuff like that, when I was a kid. But I remember that I thought the violence in Dino Crisis 2 was fun and cool.

Cool glad you like it. For me, the Switch 2 was good. The demo I tried was Mario Kart World. I feel the game is good, just not worth the $80. Maybe if it was $60, I could see myself getting it. I'm not paying $80 for any game. Also I don't have a Switch 2, ultimately, it's the game key cards that ruined my excitement I had. I buy both physical and digital games, when I want physical, I want the game on the cart. If you look at my Switch, Wii U, Wii, 3DS, and other Nintendo systems, I have a lot of third party games, and that game key cards seem to be the route most third party games are going. Don't let that ruin your fun, if you're enjoying Switch 2, more power to you!

Yup, I like those kind of games, so the Pizza Connection games work well with me, especially since I like to cook, and enjoy pizza (yes, I have made fresh pizza before. ). Heretic is good, just fantasy Doom. I got into the Smurfs after seeing Smurfs: The Lost Village, loved the series since. I was actually playing Smurfs: Mission Vileaf on Switch before I saw the new movie in anticipation (the new movie seems to be a reboot, has nothing to do with The Lost Village).

Indeed, I had to go out the other day early to get milk. Usually I like to have chocolate milk for my classic game session every Saturday evening. Thankfully where I live, we're having a bit of a break, it was cool yesterday, and only going to be in the 70's today).

@Pastellioli Yeah definitely, I got Animal Crossing: New Horizons when it came out and I poured an absurd amount of time into it, lol... especially during pandemic times. It's still my most played Switch game, though I did put a lot of time into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 3 as well.

Gotcha, yeah do your best if you end up drawing lightly. Just enough so you could see where you've drawn. It can take some practice. On the character art, sounds like a plan.

I did get some good mileage from the painting supplies I had, since that was part of a painting class I took a while ago. Aha, I see... I used walnut oil because that was what my class recommended. Yeah, the watercolor can dry pretty quickly if I recall correctly... I think it would help to practice what I want to make in my sketchbook before I make the same thing in watercolor. I did find some watercolor sets on Amazon, though I would prefer having watercolor paper along with it.

Ah I see... the few times I played Dance Dance Revolution, I could really only play on easy difficulty. Ah yeah, I just remembered Rhythm Heaven, I didn't play too much of the games but I do like them. I have the Wii and 3DS entries. Lol, likewise on traditional fighting games, I'd just press random buttons! I am decent at Smash Bros. (though not at the competitive level) since there's just two attack buttons to work with. I like the freedom of movement compared to the other fighting games too. I forgot about Overwatch, I actually did try it out on PC a long while back. There was a free trial that allowed playing online.

Same here. I'm a lot more attached to Nintendo than PlayStation and Xbox to begin with, we had the SNES and N64 when I was a child. I will admit, Astro Bot on the PS5 does look like a good game for sure, but I think that's the only PS5 game I'm interested in now. I don't know if I'd want a PS5 anytime soon, especially since I just got a Switch 2. The last Sony console I got was the PS3, though I did play the PS4 a couple times as well.

Yeah definitely, I can tell you're quite a big Rare fan. I've only played their older stuff when they were with Nintendo. Yeah, I would imagine the devs already made too much progress on the N64 to hop on over to the GameCube.

That's good at least, seeing footage of the late game would have been worse I think. Outside of stuff like reviews and hands-on videos, I tend to stay away from footage of games I want to play. I would imagine Splatoon Raiders would be single player only. Maybe some kind of co-op mode could be added too, we don't know for sure. Yeah definitely, I actually like Deep Cut quite a lot so I'm glad they're the main supporting characters this time around.

@Sunsy Nice, that's cool you got to give Mario Kart World a shot. Yeah, I went for the Switch 2 bundle with MKW, partly to save some money on getting the game itself - for me, it's a $50 game - and I wanted to play the new Mario Kart in general. I couldn't not play it, lol. The only trade-off is having it digitally, instead of a physical copy. Yeah... even as a Switch 2 owner, I don't like the game key cards either and I wouldn't buy a single one. Not only do they take up space in real life, they take up space in the internal storage/SD card as well. The Switch 2 only takes microSD Express cards, and while those are a lot faster, they aren't cheap. The game key cards just aren't very consumer-friendly, hopefully they'll change that later on. And that's coming from somebody who doesn't mind having digital games. I do have some third-party games as well, though I mostly play Nintendo's own games. Thank you, I'm definitely enjoying my Switch 2 as of now! It's pretty powerful for a Nintendo console, and even the joy-cons are easier to take off and put back. Even got to play MKW with another friend of mine.

Nice, I do remember you like to cook, and it's cool you've made fresh pizza. Did you make that by yourself if you don't mind me asking? Just curious. Actually, I'm thinking of doing a similar thing with Kirby and the Forgotten Land. I have not fully completed the game as of now, I might try to get 100% before I get the upgrade pack that's coming soon. Out of all the Switch 2 editions for games I own, Kirby is the one I'm most interested in.

Good to hear the temperatures are tolerable on your end, it's been getting better for my area as well. I'm not huge into regular milk, but I do love chocolate milk. That's cool you like playing old-school games on Saturday evenings, I haven't been playing retro games too much lately... the last one I played was F-Zero GX, albeit on the Switch 2's GameCube catalog. I played a bit of Soul Calibur II as well.

@Pastellioli Heh. Yeah, lag sucks, and I can't usually handle touchscreen controls. The one I tried was Sonic 1. Having said that, I dunno 3d music videos?

Perhaps it's because Twitter isn't gone. But it could also be because I gather Twitter is still more global.

Yeah. I largely just keep an archive... Sometimes, I request pfps.

Information is a major market right now. Google has been successfully sued over it in Cali, and some ppl are trying to get the other states in on it. I truly cannot stand the way these companies do this stuff, and you know it usually isn't gonna be in good faith...

Yeah. I dunno actual legality of the block button. I don't think NL has an app though? I viewed the legal thing as "look, evil person did this thing we have decided to declare as evil!" Understandable though, because stalkers exist. In my case, I just wanna work things out with ppl...but, same deal I guess...

He basically cut my last line of communication Iirc after I sent that.. Kinda frustrated. I technically could be an evil jerk and just walk up to his front door and start knocking tbh. But that'd resolve nothing. And it'd be illegal. I don't actually know what had him so spooked. The timeline to me is, we were arranging a visit, didn't work out so I try to get another arranged. He starts ignoring me for 4 months, during which I flip out recognizing I'm being ignored. He replies elsewhere (Twitter), and on the third interaction, he says he's lonely and wants to go to a convention (which apparently screwed him over...), so I reply by saying maybe we could get together...and get blocked. He was unwilling to discuss anything, and I supposedly "creeped him out".

I am far too compulsive. Even if I think on it, my impression usually doesn't change. Unless it's immediate. I've upset too many ppl. But by that same token, I am also far more tolerant of others.
If you say it's alright, then fine. I can do with less strain.

Btw, I finally finished Halo 5! I put Rare Replay back in, and....now I'm hopelessly lost. I don't see Conker Live and Reloaded on the game list. Was it removed?

Also, it occurs to me, Starfox Adventures...looking back, it feels like it was a beta that they just hurried to swap it to Starfox, make it look like not a beta, then rush it out the door?

@Mariotag My fat fingers are too big for the touchscreen controls. I feel like I’d have an easier time playing those normally on console. The game I play has videos that you can play in the background that have 3D models of the characters dancing and singing, hence why it’s called a 3D music video, but my phone can’t handle the amount of resources used up by the 3D models, so it begins lagging. However, it can handle 2D MVs where there’s just 2D artwork and illustrations.

Yeah, Twitter has been around for maybe almost a decade and built up a large userbase over time, while Bluesky is a newer one that did seem talked about at first but I barely hear it anywhere now.

Didn’t know Google was being sued, speaking of, did you hear about how they are trying to implement more AI into YouTube and it’s going to identify users’ ages by looking at stuff like their watch and search history and how long their Google account as been around so they can suspect if their lying about their age? Problem is, they already know the AI is going to get some of the users’ ages wrong and say that you have to either provide them an ID, your credit card, or a picture of your own FACE, which sounds like an invasion of privacy in my opinion. Everyone thinks it’s just a badly disguised attempt at getting people’s personal information. The credit card one sounds especially concerning….

Nope, NL is just a website, it never had an app. Yeah, again, block buttons are essential, but also used as a bad excuse to not talk about or resolve a problem.

Sorry that nothing worked out in the end. Well, I don’t see you reaching out and asking to talk to him as creepy at all, he was ignoring you and didn’t explain to you at all, and it even sounded like your other friends don’t even know the true reason either. It could’ve been easily resolved, but he didn’t explain why, causing you to feel sad and resulting in a lot of confusion and him no longer being in contact with you. But most of what happened seemed to just stem from something being misinterpreted.

Usually, when it comes to opinions on myself, I feel like anything positive I say about myself is wrong, because I think I annoy and disappoint too many people, and I only really view people’s opinions on me as the right ones, because I feel like I’d be really biased if I said anything too positive about myself. I just feel awful when I do something on accident and it makes someone really upset.

Live and Reloaded is separate from Rare Replay and it can be bought just for $10. Bought it after completing Bad Fur Day but I didn’t finish it until last year. Pretty decent remake, but i have a few issues with it. A fun fact related to that, they were originally going to include it in Rare Replay, but used the original N64 version instead because of Live and Reloaded being censored.

@Pastellioli Ahh. That's what you meant by 3d video.
As for touchscreen controls... Imo it doesn't matter how big your fingers are. Some games work with them, others don't.

Yeah. Bsky is just starting.

Oh yikes! Yeah. That's messed up. But I thought Google lost YT?
And yeah. Someone made the bold move. Problem is, they're only losing millions. Feels like a cop out to me.

Ah. Just a site. Okay. And yeah. Block and mute buttons are literally just treated as "does this person annoy you? Block em."

VERY easily resolved, if he'd only bother expressing himself. Note that I don't say "communicate", because to far too many ppl, ignoring others is communication. And yes. It hurts. I want to be sure he at least read my final message though...

I'm sorta similar on how I view myself. Interestingly, when I first started interacting online, I was overly confident, maybe even a little proud, on top of being pushy. But after enough issues... It only took a single forum full of teenagers to drag me to the depths of self loathing. I hate that I'm not doing right by others more. Semi related, but I can slightly relate to the main character of Re:Zero cause of that.

Ahh. Good to know. I seem to have all the RR games then! (Except Goldeneye) I'm struggling to remember what moves I can do in Conker. Haven't been able to talk with any NPCs since resuming...

Mariotag

Pastellioli

@Mariotag Yeah, I attempted it lately and the performance was shockingly awful. Though, I find using MVs while playing super distracting. Yeah, though I found CD’s touchscreen controls more doable, but the controls for 2 were harder. I prefer controls that require a controller, or ones that require me to directly tap or move my fingers on the screen.

No, they still have YT, and because of that, they can make as many terrible changes and decisions to it! I agree with everyone when they say it’s an invasion of privacy. The issue is, there are older teens and adults who want to remain anonymous, not because they are trying to lie about their age, but because they don’t trust how their private information will be handled by companies, you honestly can’t really trust any company with personal data, especially when it comes to data breaches. On top of that, I’ve heard concerns about the AI basing the verdict on watch and search history, but the main concern from that is how they’ll think a YT account watching something kiddy, like children’s cartoons, will make the AI think the account belongs to a kid and then lock the account, when kids cartoons are also watched by adults, parents, and older teens. I’ve never once heard of a company requiring people give them their credit card number or face to verify their accounts. Sounds suspicious.

Yes, that and their sister sites don’t have any apps, just sites.

Sometimes, when bad events happen to me, I always wonder what could have happened to make the bad event or problem never occur, and then I start to see missed opportunities and I start getting upset and bothered. I’m really sorry about what happened, again, it must sting a lot…

Yeah, sometimes I want or need someone else to point out how I act or give me their opinion of me, because again, I feel like my own opinion on myself is biased and would intentionally make me appear in a positive light, and I sometimes unintentionally act prideful and way too confident, but it was worse in the past.

Yes! You do. What part on Conker are you on? Is it the first chapter? You could look up a YT gameplay video on the Xbox port of it and see how you can perform those moves. Though, I remember that when you first get the instruction manual for learning moves, Conker says that you can press a button on the controller to take the manual out again, albeit I can’t remember which button it was, and I rarely took the manual out when playing initially.

@MarioVillager92 I actually put more time into Splatoon 2 more than the 3rd game shockingly. Though, it was also because my internet was laggy at the time, and playing online was a big risk! Especially because 3 dished out more punishments for having bad internet.

I really, REALLY think I need to practice again when I get all my art ideas out of the way. I haven’t drawn since January, so my skills are a bit rusty… and I did try lightly drawing earlier and it helped plenty! That’s one thing I’ll need to practice more though.

All the oil painting articles I saw online recommend linseed oil for cleaning, but I only found that out after I got the oil paints. A bunch of articles said to use soap and running water to clean oil paint covered brushes, but it didn’t work unfortunately…watercolor paper would absolutely go well with those sets, I’ve used watercolor paper before and it’s awesome, but I also remember using mixed media and textured cardstock paper with watercolor in the past, but I think using those with watercolor would be a bit risky, especially cardstock, since not all cardstock is guaranteed to handle art materials well. Random, but I remember one time using watercolor on a random sheet of printer paper, and somehow the paper didnt disintegrate with the watercolor? All I remember though was the paper buckling real bad and the painting being a big smudgy mess lol.

I usually like playing rhythm games on harder difficulty, I don’t know why but I think it’s because the charts tend to have a lot going on but of course, there isn’t anything wrong with people playing on lower difficulties, because rhythm games in general are hard to play; you have to constantly be playing and keeping your eyes on the screen from start to end to ensure you don’t mess up. Easier difficulties are way less stress-inducing! I haven’t really played Rhythm Heaven, but the upcoming Switch game looks fun, and I’d definitely want to try it when it releases. The simplified controls make Smash very accessible to everyone, and that’s also what makes me like it a lot! I am fine at Smash too, but of course not competitively, though I used to watch competitive clips for fun at one point. That’s cool, I played OW on the PS4 only, and then when the sequel released and the PS4 was already traded in, I played it on the Series S, so I play it exclusively on console. Though, it’s been since December since I last played it. The game is somewhat more frustrating, mainly from the bad matchmaking.

The platformer PS games look like they’d be of the most interest to me if I played it again. Astro Bot especially looked fantastic. I really enjoyed the LittleBigPlanet games a ton, from the humor, themes of creativity, and crafted look of the games. I was close to completing the 3rd game with my siblings but we got stuck on the last level and never finished it, but I enjoyed that game a ton in retrospect. But I understand not really considering a new console especially since you got a Switch 2, I think two new consoles would be a lot!

Yep, and I have Smash to thank for making me a fan of Rare lol. Though, again, I’m more interested in their old IPs and characters than their newer stuff, like Sea of Thieves, but I wonder what their future will be like, since their next game that was in development for a good decade got canned from Microsoft layoffs. I thought Rare’s new game looked interesting, at least visually…there’s a charm with Rare’s old games that I especially enjoy a lot, and I don’t really think Sea of Thieves would exude that for me? I don’t know, their modern stuff is kind of uninteresting to me, probably because the studio’s leadership is likely going to change and a majority of the developers responsible for their N64 hits and charming characters left the studio over the years, and as part of those layoffs, the remaining few veterans that were there lost their jobs unfortunately, so I don’t even know what they’ll do next.

Yeah, it’s one of the times where I don’t want to see spoilers for something I’m excited for, especially since I like DK! Usually I like to randomly read spoilers for games I assume won’t play, and then I ultimately do and enjoy the game, but go “aw, maybe I shouldn’t have spoiled it,” but Bananza is a game I ABSOLUTELY want to play, so I’m trying to do my best to avoid spoilers. I rarely watch game or movie reviews, including spoiler-free ones, but I sometimes watch them on occasion. I’m wondering when they’ll talk about Raiders again, it’s maybe been since I think April or May since they revealed it? I’d have to assume a possible September Direct or a special Splatoon-themed Direct would talk about it more, but Nintendo has been having more irregular Directs lately, because they skipped their usual February and June Direct, and it wasn’t until a few days ago they had a Partner Direct, so maybe they could randomly shadow-drop info on it too. It is nice to see Deep Cut getting more involved in Raiders, especially since they had a more minor role in the story mode because they were bosses and only did more in the final boss battle.
