@Pastellioli Interestingly, Sonic CD was one I had trouble with initially. Something something time travel and special stages. And yeah. I've had awful performance on older devices too.
Well, yikes. Google really is pulling out all the stops, huh? I honestly hate them now. Their origin with search engines might have had merit, but like many other things, there was nothing to keep them from reaching the corrupt, harmful extreme. AI probably became more mainstream with them and YT too. It's scary thinking on how they might ban ppl using AI...Reminds me of current Nintendo..
Yeah. As expected.
Same. I'm hoping that a mutual can get him to at least look at my final message to leave things off slightly lighter. But like, I'm always wondering what I could've done better, and always hoping to adjust. Obviously, I fail frequently. When something is embedded in my mind, I can't rid myself of it, and it's more often a matter of time before I act on it. OCD issues I'm guessing. I consider myself at least partly at fault for this. But I generally consider myself at fault these days.
For me, partly it's to know how they see things, partly wanting consolation, a feeling that I belong, and partly, "am I doing something wrong? What is it? How do I remedy this?"
I don't recall a manual on learning moves?
I got out of the starting area, and while I recall finding a building with a boss fight involving, I think a scarecrow, that was long ago, and I can't find it again. I can use the frying pan on the ground, tail glide, maybe double jump, and some panels that allow a slingshot. No idea where I need to be.
Amusing that after many times putting it off, we've exchanged words what? 3 times in one day?
@Mariotag I think CD was harder for me, especially the boss battles. I only found 2 to be harder because of the touchscreen controls.
It just sounds very terrible and corrupt with this AI thing their implementing in a few weeks, and they are fully aware the AI’s gonna do a bad job correctly identifying the ages of Google’s users, but requiring incorrectly identified users to provide them personal information is very messed up. I know how much of a fuss people made when they hid dislike counts from the public, but I think this current situation is even worse with how the AI is going to get everything wrong and the fact they want users’ personal info when the AI gets something incorrect. The AI is going to play a guessing game with everyone and is going to get 99% of it wrong. I don’t know what’s each and every company’s obsession with using AI to do jobs; it’s been proven some times before that AI cannot do things like that correctly. Reminds me of Pinterest. Apparently that site has an AI in place to identify images that aren’t allowed and remove them, but I heard more often than not, the AI removes images that aren’t even breaking the rules. What makes it worse is that it punishes the people who have the photos pinned rather than the original poster, so everyone sans the poster gets punished in the end. I got screwed over by the bad AI twice, not banned, but it was so annoying getting warnings and finding out it was a dumb AI that identified them. I don’t even save bad images or content on there! So stupid. Despite liking that site, the rules on it are mind-boggling (on top of the userbase not knowing what “credit” is) and it shows AI sucks at identifying rule-breaking content and will also suck at correctly predicting someone’s age.
Hopefully, that would be nice, because it stinks knowing you might not see him again and he won’t know what actually happened. Yeah, when I think of missed opportunities I just get bothered and wonder what I could have done differently. I also think I fail a ton, everyone says I don’t, but I feel like I fail a lot in so many aspects of life, but I need to stop before I get personal about it and start getting myself all sad.
Yes, I also want to know if I’m doing well, but it’s also for validation and making sure nothing bad is going to happen. I have pretty bad paranoia and each day I fear something bad will happen that’ll derail the rest of my day. If I don’t know the answers to something or if someone doesn’t confirm something, I get really bothered and feel like I have to keep constantly asking for answers to calm me down.
Oh, guess you’re not on that part yet. Basically, when you first go on a pad near these dung beetles, you get a move manual from the scarecrow, and you having the slingshot tells me you did already get the manual. But I can’t remember what button you press that takes the manual out again. Throughout the game Conker takes the manual out almost each time you go on a pad and learn a new move. And that building boss, sounds like your referring to the barn with the hay and the pitchfork? Is there a chance you maybe already completed the boss if you can’t find it anymore?
Google using AI to figure out the age of YouTube users? That... doesn't sound good at all. I thought that YouTube was a place where people could basically watch anything they wanted no matter what age they were? That's why I like YouTube so much. I'll have to do some research into this later.

@Pastellioli Wait really? I've gotten communication errors before in Splatoon 3, but not once did I get a warning or ban from them. I did get a warning in Splatoon 2 for getting disconnected, but that's really it. No, I didn't rage quit or do anything bad. It was just some strange occurrence.
Oh that's great that lightly drawing has been helping you. I've actually been getting back to drawing recently, and I'm having fun with it. I think I'd need more practice with some things as well, I wanna try drawing backgrounds sometime.
Ah I see... I remember using running water from a sink to rinse off the paintbrushes and it worked OK. Just going off my memory though. Gotcha. I think, to be on the safe side, I'd use watercolor paper for doing watercolor only. Actually, I remember using a drawing sketchbook to try out watercolor... but it didn't turn out too well. Your experience with the printer paper reminded me of that sketchbook thing I just mentioned, lol.
Indeed... I've seen people play DDR on high difficulties, and they're real good! It can be fun to watch too. Yeah definitely, I got into Smash when I was a kid and I used to play the living heck out of Melee. Granted, it's a different kind of fighting game, but it's as close as I'll ever get when it comes to the genre. On Overwatch, that's cool, I don't have a PS4 or an Xbox, so PC was how I tried it out. Ah, it got frustrating huh? That reminds me, I haven't been playing Splatoon 3 online too often lately. Found myself frustrated at it, especially during the recent splatfests. Plus the game has been running out of steam for me in general.
I've not played LittleBigPlanet, but I did hear some good things about it. Doesn't the game let you make your own levels ala Super Mario Maker, or am I mistaken? Glad to hear you liked the LBP games. Yeah, I'm perfectly happy with the Switch 2 in terms of modern consoles, and I also have a PC, so I'm not in a rush to get a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S.
I've played a good chunk of Rare's games when I was a kid, namely the Donkey Kong games, Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo-Kazooie, and even Star Fox Adventures (which I think is a pretty underrated game). That sucks that their next game got cancelled like that... I hope the guys who worked at Rare continue to do all right. Yeah, not sure if Sea of Thieves would appeal to me too much either.
Yeah, I have a tendency to not watch too much videos of games I want to play, outside of stuff like hands-on previews and reviews (preferably the spoiler-free ones). More recently, I've been like that for any game... unless it's a game I'm familiar with of course. Yeah, Nintendo loves to be unpredictable when they announce their next Direct, lol. I'd imagine if there is going to be one for September, it would either be Mario-centric (because of Super Mario Bros.' 40th anniversary... I feel old!), or a regular Direct.
@EllaTheQueen6 Hello to you as well. Hope you're doing well.

Just came back from a campout with my Trail Life USA (basically Boy Scouts but explicitly Christian) troup. We camped at a balloon festival in my area for one night and watched the balloons go into the air, and also ate hot dogs and walking tacos (taco meat inside small bags of chips so you can walk around with it, hence its name), but I didn't have meat in my chips like usual since I don't like doing that. Anyway, now that I'm back, it's time to make my "What are you playing this Weekend" comment.

@ShieldHero ooh I love walking tacos! They are best with Fritos, specifically IMO @ThatZeldaNerd I just downloaded Fortnite and on my second time playing I got Victory Royale! Pretty fun game, but I wish it had a tutorial because I still don't know how most of the controls work...!
@CaleBoi25 Whoa nice!! Honestly the controls are tricky at first but you'll get the hang of it for sure! I saw that you were online yesterday we should totally run some duos if your up for it sometime

@CaleBoi25, does Victory Royale mean you won? If so, that's impressive for a 100-player game! My best placement in Tetris 99 is 18th.

@ThatZeldaNerd Yeah we def should! @ShieldHero Yep! I still can't believe it, especially since the only other free for all I play is Tetris 99 (best is 16th place)
@MarioVillager92 I did get a few internet warnings in 3, but there were a few times in 2 where I got banned from playing online for only a few minutes because of poor internet, not rage quitting. You get warned about it and a message along the lines of “make sure your internet isn’t busted before playing” shows up when you go in the lobby, but if you disconnect more than once, either intentionally or unintentionally, you get the ban hammer and can’t play for a few minutes. It is nice the later games had more bans and warnings because of how frequent disconnects were in the first game (which was the worst out of the three when it came to punishing players that intentionally disconnect), but I think 3 took more actions against player disconnects besides banning, like how the game instantly ends a match if one or more disconnect a few seconds after it starts.
That’s good! I’m still struggling a bit with what to make, I’ll admit that poses are what mainly contribute to my art block but I still have a lot of ideas I want to get down on paper.
When I rinsed my brushes, the paint still stuck to the brush. The paints were from Winsor and Newton, which is a high-quality art brand, so I’d assume the materials used in making the paint were really good quality and expensive if they didn’t come off my brushes entirely. Though after that happened I realized oil painting wasn’t for me. Yeah, watercolor paper is what you should definitely use since the texture and thickness is usually good, but I have used thinner watercolor paper in the past and the paper sometimes buckles or bends. I remember having Strathmore watercolor paper, which did handle the watercolor well, but all the sheets looked kinda bendy after I was finished, and if there’s one thing that bothers me about a drawing, it’s damaged or marked paper that ruins my art, though I maybe used too much water.
What I remember doing with the printer paper painting was I inked the art using an ultra fine liner from the dollar store. The pen worked well with my markers and pencils so I assumed it worked with all materials, but what I didn’t know was that the liner is not waterproof, so once water went on the lines, the painting became a muddy and smudgy mess and ruined the color of the paints. Though, I was less experienced in drawing when that happened. Now I test if a certain material is compatible with another, which is very important when using wet art material. Better to find out early instead of taking a risk with a drawing you’re making!
I’m very used to simplified controls in fighting games thanks to Smash, I find all the different moves and inputs in traditional fighting games hard to get used to. Yep, I used to love Overwatch a lot, especially at its peak back in 2016-2019, but dropped it in favor of Splatoon and the Switch after that, but chose to give OW another shot again after I got an Xbox. I had to start over, but I didn’t really mind it. While the first times I played it I had a ton of fun and got all my skills back, I found the game was harder to play (and enjoy) when I redownloaded it in December, though, I’d imagine the game changed a bit since the time I was gone, from updates, slight modifications, and new heroes. Last time I played it was in November 2023, and it wasn’t until December of last year I went back to it. I think I did 20 something matches but only managed to with 3 of them, super frustrating, especially with the terrible matchmaking and game servers being so bad at staying connected. I don’t really play Splatoon anymore but it can also be a somewhat frustrating game if you’re not winning all the time, the games have gotten like that for me too at points.
Yes, if I remember it does, but I think I mostly focused on LBP3’s story mode instead. I usually suck at building and creating stuff in games that center on creativity, but I like games that allow their players to make whatever the heck they want.
I only got into their games back in 2021 thanks to NSO having the original DKC SNES trilogy. Played that through June-July and had a blast, but playing Banjo is what made me like them even more.
Yeah, but there were reports over the years saying the game was plagued with development issues…first, the game was in experimental prototyping for some time around 2014, they announced it with a trailer in 2019, and went dead silent. From 2021-2024 came reports that development was plagued with issues and rebooted. Eventually, it was reported development was going better (with some of the game being playable), but ultimately got canned when Microsoft laid off several of their employees, with the game director and producer being part of those layoffs. There were conflicting reports before the cancellation saying it was an adventure God game with survival elements and little to no combat, but then a life sim game similar to Viva Piñata? Reports also said the developers themselves didn’t know what the game was supposed to be about, which all hint that they never settled on a genre or gameplay for it after revealing it. I was optimistic about it despite the issues it had being developed, but it shows Microsoft shouldn’t have their studios announce games so early before their finished. It felt kinda weird seeing Rare have a small 40th anniversary celebration lately as if nothing happened, since they just lost their last few veteran employees a month ago, the game they worked a decade on went nowhere, and the fact no one knows what they’ll make next after all their work ultimately went in the trash.
I’m still trying to do my best to avoid watching or seeing stuff for Bananza, but it’s so hard because some Nintendo-themed accounts I follow are already posting stuff related to later parts of the game…I ended up getting recommended a screenshot of a tweet with a very, VERY spoiler-y scene from a later part of the game, so unfortunately I’ll be less surprised when it happens. But, again, I should be glad that it’s only one part. But from now on, I’ll probably avoiding reading and watching stuff about games and shows I, for sure, want to play and watch. They have been oddly unpredictable with their Directs all year this time, huh? Something funny I kind of realized was they had Directs a month after the time they usually are supposed to be doing one. They have February Directs, but instead had one in March, then they skipped June but had a Partner Direct a few weeks ago in July. I’m wondering if they’ll skip September, given that’s what they did last year, but I think it’ll be super strange if they didn’t have one last Direct for the year, or something related to Mario.
