@Pastellioli
Actually, I already have my hand drawing of myself as fictional character with Komasan and Whisper in June 2021.

@Tyranexx The DS NNK is Japan only, unfortunately.
02 kinda like, brought up a bunch of interesting stuff, and a change in design, only to throw it all away.
I have a budget more limited than I'd like, and it may largely go away soon.
Limiting time is fair.
Pokemon Go kinda just bothers me now. I'm in a rural area too. Middle of the woods in fact.
Mario and Luigi Broship, I asked, and apparently the "random encounters" thing was a mistake to say?

Anyway, what's been up? What games you been playing? I've been on Castlevania Dominus Collection, as I continue to shy away from Ender Lilies, FF7R, and Bravely Default.

I still have Bluey, Barbie Project Friendship & Ice Age PS5 to finish.

@Anti-Matter Ah. Can't say I'm really interested in any of those.
Possibly the biggest offenders in my backlog are a handful of anime games, notably SAO, that I got because fan of the series. Second and third biggest offenders would be the really difficult and grindy games that I'm simply not up for touching too soon. Gotta wrap up all the Hollow Knight trophies too. Only have pantheon of Hollownest and a couple sidequests left. But it's that first part that's the problem.

@Anti-Matter A lot of the yo-kai fit your style so well! You drew Komasan really well, so I can’t wait to see your next drawing of him. He is my favorite character design-wise.

I need some ideas or suggestion from all of you to build my fictional character motivation for my story telling.
Recently, I created a villain who can manipulate time and dimension by making the victim become ghost when the time dimension get distorted. The villain will appear as hideous / mysterious looking guy in real world who trap the victim secretly and when the victim walking away, they will get into another dimension which time is stopped and the world they entered is completely different world.
If the victim getting lost in the distorted dimension for very long, they will get cursed by the spell of the villain from his time distortion and the victim will become ghost (kinda like FF3 Djinn curse). To undo the spell, the time distortion needs to be fixed by collecting all 4 Time Sprites with Xiliad as the leader of Time Spirit and it will weaken the villain.
I made the villain motivation not only targeting the main character and also the other character as the victim, but also he will target the main character's parent as the next victim.
My question is what is the motivation of the villain until targeting the main character's parent when the main character was failed turned into ghost but still trapped into another dimension?
My first suggestion was because of the villain want to get more power by made the victim become ghost so he can manipulate time and dimension easily.
Any better suggestion for my villain to pick the target to become ghost?

Oh, also.
I will make my villain become giant after collecting more time distortion power by make another victim become ghost and extracting power from Time Sprite Xiliad (this victim was also the same survivor as the main character who failed become ghost and still trapped in another dimension with the main character).
To defeat the giant villain, the Time Sprite Xiliad must be taken from the villain possession so it will weaken the villain power and when All the Time Spirits gathered their power, it will defeat the villain by the laser beam like strike and the time distortion will be gone. When the time distortion cursed lifted, the ghost victims will return into human again.

@MarioVillager92 Just a small heads up, if you want to check out the first Trolls movie, it's leaving Netflix December 6th. Just thought I'd give a heads up since you mentioned it in your last post.

@Pastellioli I try to keep up with newer games, just seeing what comes out or what's being talked about. I terms of actually playing, the only 2024 game I played this year is Princess Peach Showtime. Not much has caught my attention lately, though I did like the demo to Smurfs Dreams. Glad Smurfs has been getting good games lately. Hoping for Sonic x Shadow Generations for Christmas, albeit I played Sonic Generations on PC and 3DS, the Shadow levels are going to be new. Enjoy Perfect Dark's reboot whenever it launches.

Yeah, the issues with driving in snow is why I don't like traveling in it. Was once in an accident thanks to ice. Usually when it snows, I wait until the road is clean to travel again (I usually go out with friends or using Lyft anyway, but I rather do it safely). Where I live, snow is hit or miss. Sometimes there will be a lot of snow, sometimes just a little. Snow is nice when you're home seeing it from the window.

Nice, though I don't remember that episode. It's been so long since I actually watched the show. I do remember seeing it on Netflix and thought "I can watch this for free, officially on YouTube, why would anyone want to pay for Netflix to watch this?" It probably did reach a bigger audience that way too. Though, I do find it amusing that the preschool series, True and the Rainbow Kingdom did the reverse. Was a Netflix series, then episodes just randomly showing up on YouTube via its official channel. Though I do like it when official YouTube channels post full episodes. Enough of that tangent, I think I should put on some episodes one night, it's been so long since I actually watched Talking Tom and Friends.

Yeah, it's like the bad userbase is makes it a reason to not sign up. I feel if places like Twitter had something like rules in place and enforced them, I could see the place be better. I like how the community rules here exist, I think social media should have something similar. Have no rules in place, and people misbehave, really that simple. Instagram is just my prefered social media for following interests and posting to because it's not as bad. Sometimes on the larger accounts, you get bad comments, beyond that, smaller accounts rarely get negative comments, and it's so small it can be easily removed or even blocked if someone continues (small update on being blocked on Instagram, it was a bot. Looked into it, and noticed the comments formatted similarly were being posted from that account under multiple posts. So I ended up cleaning up the bot comments). I like the algorithm Instagram has better, the discovery area often posts fandom stuff for me, which is great since I like seeing that kind of stuff.

Glad it was an enjoyable Halloween.

@Tyranexx I have to agree with that, it's "so bad it's good." It's not even bad gameplay, it's like watching a poorly acted horror movie, lol. I think you could still play the shareware to Monster Bash, albeit you'll need DOSBox to run it on a modern PC, though the version GOG sells comes with DOSBox and the game all set up. Using the garlic has become my favorite way to take out the bats. Running into a big group of them gets me a lot of gems, lol.

Apologies for double posting, kind of happy to see Nintendo Life remembering Sonic Boom, honestly I don't feel so lonely remembering this one. Actually spent my afternoon playing Rise of Lyric today because of this game turning 10, and got to play my Wii U for the first time in a good while too.

Unpopular opinion, I liked all three Sonic Boom games, yes even the Wii U one.

Forgive any typos. I'm on my phone and am also sleep deprived. I have a lot going on IRL lately. I'm in the middle of a house decontamination.

@Sunsy Oh certainly. The gameplay in Typing of the Dead is fine; it's the VA work that's hilarious! Kind of reminds me of what I've heard of Chaos Wars. I'm sure I could rig up a way to play Monster Bash should I desire to lol. The garlic in Vampire Survivors definitely feels OP, but that isn't a bad thing.

@Pastellioli Small plushes can be easy to find online depending on the character and (usually) aren't expensive. Some places charge a premium on themed Japan merch for example. Again, it depends on what the item is. Other than that, amiibo CAN be affordable if it's a common character or reprint. Some are expensive even secondhand sadly. Crane games can be fun but are definitely a gamble.

I tend to go for quick burst mobile games too, typically related to puzzles. I used to play the occasional endless runner (I put way more hours than I care to admit into Sonic Dash on my Windows Phone years ago) but burned myself out. I did download Fire Emblem Heroes at one point and got maybe halfway through the story mode before getting tired of it. I wasn't a fan of the gacha mechanics and much prefer the main series. Under the Nintendo sphere, I mostly stick with Pokemon related stuff these days. Though I did like the free version of Super Mario Run.

Wear and tear is a common and unfortunate consequence for an item that's well liked. Not a bad thing at all since it's serving its purpose! But all things in this world eventually give out. Even if it takes centuries or millennia.

@Mariotag A shame. I might try emulating a fan translation of the DS NNK at some point then. If a translation does exist.

Budgeting is a good way to keep a handle on finances. It was paramount for my last job. My current one is better, but I still budget anyway since I do have some long-term goals like retirement to consider. I'll need a new vehicle before too long too.

I can relate; I grew up in a log cabin in the woods on a small farm lol. My current location isn't far from basic shopping needs, though I have less options than someone in a suburb or city. For example, the closest Best Busy and Target about 90 minutes away. I can easily hit several closer Walmarts.

A good list of games you're playing! I've been curious about Ender Lilies before; how is the game? A lot of people seem to like it but complain about the map system. As for me, I'm playing Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom and Famicom Detective Club: The Two-Case Collection when I do get the chance to game.

Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet DLC, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)

@Tyranexx Hope you enjoy the DS game! I have a curiosity I'd like you to check out if you do. (Could you check if the spell "Ashes of Resurrection" actually works, and how it functions if so?)
I don't have as much opportunity for finances. I have a bunch of issues keeping me from a job, and on top of that, my disability income comes with good insurance, that pays off over $3000 in prescriptions.
I can't drive either.
Yeah, living in the middle of nowhere offers privacy, but there's little accessibility to places.
Ender Lilies, I'm not sure how to fully describe it. It's fairly difficult. The map is just a bunch of interconnected boxes that change color when you've collected everything. No markers to remind you where a boss is or anything. I'm on this part where you have to rush through toxic gas while constantly taking damage. Not sure where to go as usual.
Echoes of Wisdom is good! I had to ask advice for two quests, 3 heart pieces, and I think two echoes.

@Sunsy Ah. I'm actually a little interested in the games, if I can find them for a reasonable price. I recall glitch posts on miiverse from Rise of Lyric.
I played Sonic 06, and 100% it, and enjoyed it, so Boom can't be that bad, can it?

@Tyranexx I have tried to play crane games in the past but I do not recall getting anything unsurprisingly lol. I would like to try one soon, but plush crane games don’t seem very widespread anymore in grocery stores. I remember that right by the entrance of a few grocery stores, they would always have a crane game by the side but they don’t seem to do it anymore. I’ve only seen two stores recently that have crane games. I really want some nice plushes, but I’ll wait for that later.

I also played Sonic Dash a lot too! I specifically replayed the Sonic Boom-themed one and thought that was nice, coincidentally, NL made an article today talking about the Boom games. Fire Emblem Heroes isn’t awesome, I did get a decent selection of heroes (though I only stick to four heroes, being Dimitri and Yuri from Three Houses and two other original characters named Fjorm and Ratatoskr) and I am up to date with the story, but the game isn’t entirely great. I do like the use of Norse mythology (I absolutely love myths from other countries and cultures) and the art is done really well in the game, but the writing of the story is kind of anticlimactic and a bit cliched and I do think the gacha mechanics are annoying. Most of the time when I play it I don’t bother drawing from a gacha banner and I only really come back to play the story and that’s it. Sometimes the conditions the game has for giving you permission to choose a 5-star character is annoying. One time I grinded so much in the story mode to get orbs and had to maybe draw on this specific banner once around 50 times to choose a character I wanted, and it’s definitely something I don’t want to do again. I just really stick to rhythm games right now for phone games, but I am planning on playing the mobile ports of the classic Sonic games very soon to kind of coincide with the third Sonic movie releasing next month. Very excited for that one.

Sometimes when I get something new I don’t want to use it but then I remember that a lot of items are supposed to be used! I used to act like that a few times in the past with a lot of art supplies I got and I was way too overprotective with them and maybe a tad bit obsessive. After donating a lot of my stuff, I feel less like that, and art is all about getting things messy and using stuff up. Luckily, a lot of my gaming stuff still works and is well-crafted, it will definitely take a while for it to become unusable. I remember reading a few posts online of people with OG Xbox One consoles that lasted for maybe a decade or more and didn’t stop working until lately. It’s surprising but also a blessing that most gaming consoles and items can handle a lot of wear and tear for years before breaking and becoming unusable, as long as they are handled well and are relatively undamaged.

@Sunsy I don’t really keep up with a lot of 2024 games since I am interested in rhythm games and platformer games more, though for platformers, I’m more into the ones that are 3D and have colorful graphics and animal characters, mainly coming from the N64 games Rare made in the 90s-00s, but I’ve been having a hard time finding a game that kind of evokes the same feelings, fun gameplay, and looks of their games. I do know that someone I talk to on PX was playing an OG Xbox platformer game called Blinx at one point, but he told me it wasn’t a good game unfortunately. A lot of 2024 games sound good, Astro Bot seemed super cool from what I saw in videos plus I love platformers but I sadly don’t have a PlayStation 5 or any PlayStation console besides a Vita that my brother plays.

I definitely hope the Perfect Dark reboot is good despite how different it looks when compared to the prominent sci-fi spy thriller look of the N64 game and the prequel. Although Rare isn’t developing that one, I definitely still want to play it since it’s based on an IP they made and I love seeing their old games being given new life.

Hope that you do enjoy rewatching the show if you do! I do like the silly plots Talking Tom had for its episodes. I love watching stuff at nighttime for fun. I’ve recently been watching a ton of movies on YouTube, since to my surprise, they offer a lot of movies and shows for free, though they also change the selection at random times. I’ve found myself watching a lot of animated movies, mostly Don Bluth’s films and a slightly obscure but kind of iconic Nickelodeon movie called Barnyard. Although I didn’t think Barnyard was hilarious at all or was a great film, I still like some of the strangeness of parts of the plot and surprisingly, I found that the film did a good job with its themes and did a better job with the more dramatic and serious parts than the comedy. Watching anything, like a movie, show, or even a random video online, are great ways to unwind and end the night with a little fun and entertainment.

Twitter/X did used to have structure and rules in place from what I heard, but over the years it seems that there are no rules in place to fix bad behavior on there. I think that the rules on social media sites play a role in choosing to sign up for them. If a site has rules in place, I’ll definitely use it more than a site that has little to no rules in place and allows users to get away with saying bad stuff with no consequences in place. The changes they were making to the block button on Twitter is definitely make me not want to use it at this point, and yeah, I agree that if someone does have a huge following, they can get way more negative comments than a person with a smaller following. I also do like Instagram and think it does better with rules and stuff, and I also found a lot of nice and skilled artists on the algorithm that way too! I saw quite a few artworks for media I am currently interested in, and I love any artworks I get on Instagram’s algorithm. There are just so many cool fan creations I come across on there. I’ll stick to Instagram for a while, I just think it’s one of the better sites out there than something like Twitter.
