@Pastellioli I scratch my gaming merch collecting itch through amiibo and, rarely, LEGO sets. Though I have to want the latter badly enough since it can be very expensive. Once in awhile through plushes if they're small. Can't say I'm a fan of Funkos since the eyes creep me out lol.

I need to repurpose some older towels too. Maybe if I finally ever gave to an indoor pet. Definitely looking forward to what Level-5 does next. I believe Yo-Kai Watch Wibble-Wobble was a mobile title?

From what I understand, the best ways to learn a language are to practice with both yourself, try to slip the words into your own common usage, and practice with native speakers. The last one is admittedly hard for me due to social anxiety. I'm afraid I'll mess up, plus it's sometimes hard for me to approach people who speak my own language lol. I'm better at face to face conversation than I used to be at least.

Eh, accudents do happen. As long as the system still functions properly, I'm sure your 2DS is fine. I really try not to sweat small visual issues on old systems - though you can bet I still take care of things as well as I can lol.

@Mariotag Ah, Paper Jam has a boss arena? That could be fun based on the implementation. Sucks that you can miss collecting Bros. Attacks though. Nothing mrks from me on Ni No Kuni, though I'm glad you enjoyed both games.

I didn't know Digimon Season 2 could have went very differently, though I'm not surprised since I know a plethora of shows can go through production upsets. I always did wish they'd explored more with the Dakr Ocean since it was sort of left as this mysteriously dark, scary place you didn't want to end up with. Maybe it was supposed to be like Yu-Gi-Oh's "Shadow Realm"?

@Tyranexx Ooh, I agree with Funkos. I honestly don’t like the way Funkos look at all, mostly from the kind of lifeless eyes and the designs kind of making some characters look weird and removing recognizable characteristics and qualities that make the original designs look really nice. I can actually remember reading on NL a little after I made an account that they gave Banjo and Kazooie Funkos, but the elements that made their designs kind of iconic and unique were gone, and my main issue with those was the changes to the eyes to make them fit the Funko style. That’s why I always think that figurines like Figma and Nendoroid as well as plushies are better, cuz they use the original designs and making them still look appealing, even though I don’t have any. Me and my siblings do have a couple of amiibos too, but we haven’t bought any recently. I like amiibos too, but I haven’t used them recently, also cuz I haven’t been playing the Switch.

Yes, it was Wibble Wobble. I can remember playing that a bit and it was a simple connect puzzle game, but they shut down that internationally a few years ago. I did think it was a fun game, in fact, a lot of people thought it was a good game. Even though there are quite a bit mobile games that are bad-quality (you could even say shovelware), there are a ton of fun and good quality games on mobile that I have played. I remember playing Genshin Impact (though I deleted it because it ate up a lot of my space) and a rhythm game called Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage! Been playing the former for about two years and it’s still so fun, but I took a bit of a break from it and I need to see what new songs they added. Love Vocaloid so much.

Yeah, it isn’t a big one, so I am fine with the scratch being on the screen, and the cracks on my phone screen. If it was the actual screen underneath, I’d be bothered so much. I am sad that the 2DS volume slider somehow broke, so I can’t adjust the volume and the games I play on there just get so gosh darn loud. I have to always have a pair of earphones in to reduce the loud sounds, but I always have one earphone out from my ear because even with earphones on, the volume is up so high and I don’t want to get hearing loss.

@Anti-Matter Neat costume! Isn't Halloween like, today though? Not yesterday?
Also, I don't recognize those characters.

@Tyranexx The boss arena is just basic refights with the recommended level for the fight listed. I'm some 15 levels below the recommended lvl for the second to last boss.
Nothing "mrks" you?
And yeah. Like, iirc from the comment I saw, there were two main writers for Digimon or whatever. They broke apart partway during the Digimon Emperor/Digimon Kaiser arc, and the one among them who did the lighthearted stuff continued 02, while the other went on to write Tamers. Dark Ocean woulda been amazing as an arc. I saw both dubbed and subbed versions of that episode, and yeah, I can see why they changed it. They did eventually revisit the Dark Ocean a few times. A few in 02, once in Ghost Game of all places, and another time in tri, with varying degrees of impact. But there's nothing like what the og arc would have been. At least we got Tamers though. Shame the attempted Tamers sequel was such a massive bust. I haven't the faintest idea what was running through their heads when they decided to make "political correctness" the main antagonist of that....
As for Funko, I just plain hate the blocky design. Do I want a poorly proportioned, genuinely ugly blocky figurine that contributes nothing but decoration? Heck no.

Happy Halloween! For Halloween, I'm going to be wearing a Troll wig that looks like Poppy's hair and headband.

Been busy lately. Mostly between chores, errands, and playing games (Vampire Survivors and Monster Bash have been my Halloween gaming treats this year). Then Nintendo made their own Spotify, lol. Time to catch up.

Pastellioli wrote:

@Sunsy I did kind of download a few Sonic games on my phone in the past, but the only one I have right now is Sonic CD. I’ll probably try to download a few more Sonic mobile games to build up some hype for the third Sonic movie. The release for the film is nearing slowly but Iget excited just thinking about it.
Yeah, a few years before the Talking Tom and Friends show with Hank, there was an older, more short-lived Talking Tom show, which was actually called Talking Friends and ran for one season and 10 episodes. I am reading a bit on the show’s production, and it seemed to have been animated and made by another studio rather than Disney themselves, so they likely were distributors on that show and acquired the rights for it. The show had a different voice cast and setting compared to Talking Tom and Friends. Now looking at the voice cast for that one, I am a bit surprised they did get well-known voice talents like Tom Kenny in that one.

I remember a few moments from the show, and it was for sure way more memorable than Talking Friends, but a lot of the memorable moments from Talking Tom and Friends were from Ginger and Hank; a few of Ginger’s lines did make me laugh a bit when I was watching it back then. The show was a YouTube web series, but I remember that Netflix had the first two seasons of the show on there once, but I kind of didn’t see a reason why they put it on there since all seasons of the show are free to watch on the official YouTube channel. I can remember how fast they were with releasing episodes, but they slowed down with episode releases later on and apparently the show didn’t get a proper conclusion and appears to have abruptly stopped.

I also don’t visit Time Extension a ton compared to Nintendo Life and Pure Xbox, probably because Time Extension isn’t super popular compared to NL and it’s hard to start conversations with people on there because of how it has a small amount of users, but I do occasionally read articles on that site for Rare articles, especially the ones that are on Conker. I think you can find the specific Twelve Tales article if you look for a tag saying “Rare” on an article, but you can look through archives for March 2023 articles. I can remember that Time Extension and Nintendo Life have made articles on info on Pocket Tales and cancelled Conker games, and I always found the info on them really interesting. The information on the cancelled Bad Fur Day sequel is probably my favorite because of the crazy storyline they wrote for it and the ideas they had planned to use for the gameplay. There also was a cancelled spin-off prequel called Conker: Gettin’ Medieval that sounded interesting from its premise and the name alone, but I believe that there is not much info on it besides the fact that it was going to star a different protagonist and a different cast of characters and was a prequel to the story in Live and Reloaded’s multiplayer mode. I honestly would have loved to see more info on that game. Unseen64 doesn’t have an article on it!

The director of Bad Fur Day usually talks about some cancelled Conker games online and the ideas he had for them, and I once read an article here on NL where he shared old drawings and doodles he made of Conker, and in those I remember he resembled an actual real life red squirrel and wore overalls. It was really cool to see how he was originally supposed to look, but because the director doesn’t have Instagram and only posts on Twitter/X and how you can’t view tweets or accounts on the site unless you make an account, I can only see the scrapped game info he shares via embedded posts and links NL has on articles and sites like Unseen64, and he probably has posted more stuff that I haven’t seen or heard of, so it’s very hard to see if he has shared more game info.

Excellent choice, Sonic CD is a great game. One of my favorites too. If you'd like, I'd like to recommend the mobile versions of Sonic 1 and 2. They're actually enhanced ports that adds so much to each game. Like the ability to play as Tails and Knuckles, even Sonic 2 actually has Hidden Palace Zone, accessible via falling in a pit in Mystic Cave Zone.

Oh cool, I have a feeling from the sounds of it Disney just aired the show in some countries. I don't recall seeing the Disney name attached to it when I watched it on YouTube. Again, I think Bluey is an example of a show licensed to Disney, but not made by Disney. That's what's coming to mind.

I kind of feel the same way whenever I see a show on streaming also on YouTube since YouTube is free. The one episode I remember, they were having a mobile gaming tournament of sorts, and Ginger ended up winning, all because Ginger had quick hands from being younger than the others, lol.

Yeah, I think everyone just goes to the sites with the busiest forums. The few times I usually visit Time Extension it's for any article they linked on the homepage here. Always an interesting read whenever I see their articles. Oh wow, I don't recall ever seeing the article about Conker. That's one I'd be interested in reading having played Pocket Tales and remembering all the old Conker stuff I saw in magazines.

That's really cool, probably will be a miss with me. I stopped using Twitter, and don't want to sign up to view tweets on a public (that's the keyword, public) profile. I use Instagram and I've been happy with that. Shame really since looking at a public profile without signing up was a feature of Twitter. It still cool the director shares all sorts of unused stuff on the Conker games.

@Sunsy That...is a very long time to have the flu. Were any reasons given as to why you had it so long? I am glad you recovered at any rate. I'd say the sickest I've ever been was when I had pneumonia in 8th grade. It was over Christmas break - thankfully after the holiday - and MAN did I have some crazy dreams. That was when I received my OG phat DS for Christmas. Let me tell ya, WarioWare: Touched! can lead to some pretty insane fever dreams lol.

I like some of the horror aspects. It depends on what it is. I'm way more attracted to classic monsters than all the ghost and serial killer stuff. I actually find stuff like Friday the 13th and Freddy Kreuger boring since I usually call what happens lol. It's more that I get a kick out of improv acting and scaring people. It's on them; they paid for it. XD There are rules that we and the guests have to follow however. If they're broken, someone gets tossed out. I haven't played many true horror games since many tend to be shooters, which aren't my cup of tea. I have played some House of the Dead and the campy Typing of the Dead, and I did try the demo for Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water back on the Wii U. I think I prefer atmospheric horror that makes one think, rather than blasting everything with a gun.

That is still a mystery to me to this day. I do remember being stuck at home, visiting doctors a lot, and I even played a lot of Dreamcast when I couldn't rest. Though, mom did surprise me with a Pokemon shirt once I got better, so there was that too.

Cool, honestly I don't mind some horror inspired themes. In the past, I've watched Monster High movies with my mom (based off a doll line, where every character is inspired by a monster, it's a quite creative). Wow, I remember a PC demo to Typing of the Dead. Speaking of horror games, I've been playing Monster Bash, a classic horror-themed platformer on PC, you play as a kid trying to save the world's pets from monsters. I also just bought Vampire Survivors after that Trial NSO has. Not much of a new game to me, I have it on PC too. I did want it on Switch. Those two have been my Halloween games, though going to probably play Vampire Survivors after Halloween. It's been a good while since I bought a new game, and Doom + Doom II was more of a free update since I had the Doom games.

@Sunsy I can remember playing the mobile port of Sonic 2, but I deleted it off my phone for some reason. I’ll play those soon, cuz I have a couple of other games on an imaginary gaming backlog I made in my head lol, plus I really do want to play more Sonic games since the third film coming up in almost just a month. I have heard that Sonic X Shadow Generations was good, maybe I could buy and try it out later after it’s release.

I have maybe three other games I intend on playing alongside the first two mobile Sonic games, that being Yo-kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls on the 3DS, and I intend on replaying Banjo-Tooie on the Xbox, as well as trying to finish Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts. I did actually start Yo-kai Watch maybe a month ago, but I haven’t touched it in a few weeks. I was supposed to replay Tooie back in September, but wasn’t in the mood for it at the time, and I’ve procrastinated on progressing through Nuts and Bolts. For that one, I actually started it last year in March, but dropped it. I intended to complete it back in July or August, but upon replaying it, I got confused over where to go and what to do because I hadn’t touched it in a while, and there are so many playthrough videos for it but I am having a hard time finding the parts I got stuck on, so I’ll probably just start a new save and actually use playthroughs as I play. The game being more of a vehicle builder game than an actual platformer is also why I dropped it quickly initially.

I think I do maybe remember the mobile game tournament episode, there are some episodes I did forget in the show but there were quite a few that I still remember. I remember an episode where Tom made a taco spaghetti burger food combination (if I am remembering correctly) and Ben created an app to find nearby bathrooms, but everyone was all about the food and the garage turned into a restaurant, but their customers started to get sick from the food (and the fact that Ginger gave them toilet water as a beverage) and it turned out that the bathroom app was useful all along. Another well known one for me was an episode where Jeremy got everyone sick and they made it look like a zombie apocalypse and Ben literally falling in love with the moon. A lot of the plots in the show were random, but in a good and entertaining way from how some of them were hilariously ridiculous, though I think a few of the episodes did have plots that were dramatic and were a bit serious, mainly talking about the final few episodes of seasons 1-4.

Yeah, I think that this site has sometimes linked articles to Time Extension, and I absolutely enjoy the Rare articles on that site, but I tend to gravitate toward it less because there is only a small bit of users that actively participate in the comments and forums, though, there were a few times where there were a lot of more comments, mainly from poll articles that asked for users’ opinions on gaming subjects or on stuff like game achievements. Pure Xbox is sometimes the same, but I have had more conversations going on there and the comment sections are more populated there. I think that Nintendo Life and Push Square are the most popular out of the four.

I really wanted to find if the game director had an Instagram so that I could follow him and see what unused game info and projects he talks about. I don’t really want to make an account on there just so I can view stuff, plus I’ve seen how bad some people on Twitter tend to act compared to other social media platforms. I did use it before, but only on the web as a guest, and I stopped using it when they started to make it a requirement to make an account just to view accounts and tweets. I really wanted to see the stuff the director tweets about since some wiki articles I read on the Conker games usually don’t have any info on cancelled games and unused ideas, but I think that’s also because the Conker wikis aren’t updated regularly.

Happy first day of November everyone! I wonder how everyone’s Halloween went.

For me, I don’t celebrate Halloween, so me and my family just stayed home. I was considering buying candy that I could give out to trick-or-treaters, but there was no one trick-or-treating where we were, so there was no point in buying candy anyway. A bit glad I didn’t buy candy, since I shoved so much sugary garbage and stuff down my stomach throughout most of October, and if we had leftover candies, I’d have to eat them all until they run out, and I already decided to make a challenge to avoid eating processed sugary foods for most of November since I have a really bad sweet tooth.

Also, I found out that Doja Cat dressed as that
sunflower lady from Conker’s Bad Fur Day for Halloween, which was certainly a surprise for me. Given that game is kind of obscure and niche (plus it didn’t sell well upon release) I wasn’t expecting a popular celebrity to dress up as a character from there! It’s definitely one of my favorite games (though more so writing and story-wise) and it makes me happy when people acknowledge it

@CaleBoi25 I get so excited when a new month starts. I’m really happy it’s November, also because December is a month away now! I find December to be the month for a ton of fun stuff, also because everyone has more free time and can do more fun stuff than ever before! I’m looking forward to Christmas, unsurprisingly.

Also, I posted funny screenshots of ACNH with Halloween theme on Animal Crossing New Horizons thread.

@Pastellioli Hopefully I'll get to your post this weekend. I do want to say, my Halloween was good. I wore a Trolls wig on my head all day, lol. I don't get trick-or-treaters where I live, so I spent part of the day playing Vampire Survivors and Monster Bash (why not, they fit the Halloween mood).

@Anti-Matter Wishing you a belated happy birthday!

Hope you're all doing well. Been busy with some real life stuff lately, as usual. Unfortunately I accidentally burned myself from a hot surface earlier... that seriously hurt when that happened. Had to use cold water and ice packs right away. It is healing now though, and there's no pain anymore, so that's good. It was a coffee warmer if you're curious. As for my Halloween, it was decent. I saw Nightmare Before Christmas as a way to celebrate, although I still didn't get any trick-or-treaters.

Also saw that Xenoblade Chronicles X is finally coming to the Switch, though I'm not in a rush to get it. Maybe one day so I can play online with some friends I've made here. Also downloaded Nintendo's music app, which I do like. It could use more game soundtracks and extended music, but it is pretty good overall.

@Tyranexx Yeah anytime, glad things are settling down now. On my passion project, thanks. It's been a bit of time since I last worked on it, so I'd like to change that as soon as I can. But it's been going well. Things have also been a bit crazy for me, lol. Oh gotcha, I did see in your signature that you're still playing Echoes of Wisdom. As mentioned before, I'm done with the game. Been playing Banjo-Tooie since it came out on NSO's expansion pack, as well as Super Mario Party Jamboree. For the latter game, in addition to the main party mode, I love the Koopathlon mode. It's a mode where you'd race against 19 other players, except you race by playing minigames and collecting as many coins as you can. It's a ton of fun. Been also playing through its story mode.

All righty. Thanks for the tip. I definitely have my limits too, I'm sensitive with how fast things go. I do like some speed, but nothing overly fast. Merry-go-rounds hit that sweet spot for me, I love to ride them. If I ever do go on a roller coaster again, I will definitely need a break afterward, lol.

Ah gotcha, there are some clock designs you don't like too much, huh? The one I did see did look cute to me. I love cats as well. Good to see that kitten you mentioned got a new home.

I still remember Cosmic Mario's laugh too, haha. I haven't got much plushies in recent years either.

@Sunsy Me too, glad the Satellaview tracks made it to F-Zero 99. I did not expect Nintendo to bring them over, but here we are, haha. I know there are five remaining - three Forest tracks and two Metal Fort tracks - which haven't been preserved until recently. Looks like the F-Zero series has a brighter future now, which is great to see as a lifelong fan.

Glad to hear your cold got better as quickly as it did. That's cool, that's a good way to relax, I found myself putting on videos in the background on occasion. I am getting better as well, though in my case it was from a nasty burn that I mentioned earlier in this post.

That reminds me, I kinda miss Pac-Man World 2, I haven't had that game in years. Hopefully I'll find it again for a good price. I might get the remake of the first game actually, I did replay the PS1 original a while back, but I stopped playing at that temple boss. It was incredibly difficult, but for all the wrong reasons... it was a poorly-designed boss fight where you'd get hit every two seconds with no fault of your own. It does look like the remake fixed that boss though, so that's good.

We do have Netflix here, so it's only a matter of trying to find the time to watch Trolls. I'll let you know what I think.

That's cool, I've not played any of the Wolfenstein games. I did also play a bit of Doom 2016, but I didn't make a lot of progress in it. It got hard quickly for me. A bit odd, because I did finish the 1993 original a while back. No, I didn't play it on a digital camera or an Alarmo, haha. Yeah exactly, plus Rugrats might have been Nickelodeon's most popular show before Spongebob came out. I will admit, I never was too huge into Nicktoons back then - I was a Cartoon Network kid back then - but it is cool you still put it on from time to time.

Yeah, a Mario Party round can take quite a bit of time. If it helps to know, I do either 10 or 15 turns. The lowest amount of turns you can do is 10, so we can do that much if we do play.

@Pastellioli Oh gotcha, does that happen often during online? I sometimes see other players get disconnected during Splatoon matches. In the case of Splatoon 3, if somebody DCs within the first minute, the entire match ends in a draw. That also happens to me sometimes.

I think you're right on a more recent Digimon game, I've actually seen a friend's livestream of it. I forgot the name of that game though. I'm really only familiar with the anime series itself. I did play a few Naruto-themed games however, since my brother was huge into Naruto when it came out here in the US.
