I went to see the Mario movie last night; needless to say I enjoyed it! It was pretty decent, not Movie of the Year or anything like that, but it was perfectly enjoyable. I would certainly watch it again. The movie was so stuffed with references that I'm sure I missed a few. So many great moments, even if the plot overall was predictable, and a couple of moments didn't hit quite right with me.
@Sunsy I did happen to catch both credit scenes, though I just now read your friendly PSA lol.
@Eagly TBH I'm not one for fighting games outside of a couple of outliers, but even secondhand I think ARMS is underrated. I'm hoping to build that PC before too long, though I can afford to wait because finances lol.
To be fair, Tri Force Heroes CAN be decent from my understanding...if played in a room with two others. To really cut a long story (erm, pseudo-rant) into one sentence, the single player was clearly an afterthought, and the multiplayer setup was baffling to say the least. There are redeeming qualities to the game, but IMO Four Swords (well, the Anniversary Edition) did a much better job with the single and multiplayer aspects. Conversely I did like Spirit Tracks, though I do agree it's a weaker Zelda when compared to the other games. Correct that Nintendo doesn't tend to rush their projects lol. As for Peacemaker...I'll take your word for it that the show expands on the character in meaningful ways. I'm not the most confident in the DC cinematic universe from what I've seen, though that admittedly hasn't been a lot. I do admit there have been some bright spots lol.
I do enjoy flawed characters; a "perfect" character has little room to grow unless the plot goes for the "it's okay to not be a perfectionist" angle. For the most part, the Xenoblade series has great writing for its main characters...some side characters as well. Monolith Soft has improved with each entry. I intentionally opted for the game to use Mythra most of the time when given the choice since she felt like the more "real" character to me, though Pyra is also amazing in her own way. But yeah...a bit too "perfect" and an intentional foil of Mythra in many ways. In more ways than one, Pyra is essentially a mask of sorts...at least at first.
@MarioLover92 Just watched the movie last night! It was pretty good, I'd definitely watch it again. Definitely some fun character translations to the big screen, plus a TON of Nintendo references, and the moments with a certain ape were some of my favorites lol. SMK is good for a few minutes of nostalgia, but after that, the novelty wears off fast IMO.
Ah, in that case, maybe we could play together sometime! Though I will admit I don't know when I'll get to the game just yet...XD.
