So I’ve been putting off making an animation for weeks. I open up Blender (the software I use), mess with the models and sets for a bit, and get distracted doing something else. I just don’t feel motivated about to do this, but I’m motivated enough to do other things, like playing video games and other stupid stuff. I need some help and advice on how to motivate myself.

@Kermit1 Do you mean taking a break from gaming or animation? I’ve been taking a “break” from animation for about a month now. (Sorry if that came off as rude btw.)
@ChaoticKirby take a break from animation, try thinking about it during break though, like listening to music and thinking up ideas. (don't worry you didn't come off rude)
@Kermit1 fun fact about how NFT’s are made companies get a bunch of cheap labor from an easily exploitable labor force like the chinese. Then they have these guys work at minimum wage drawing hundreds of similar looking usually monkey pictures that have the same basic features but may have hats or hair colorbto differentiate them. Then they take all the pictures and have an AI scan them and use them to make infinite monkey pictures that are slightly different and of course the artists don’t grt commissions @Snatcher everything about the show should be seamless. The characters races didn’t matter until the writers chose to remind you of them every 15 seconds. A more mature sterilized tv show Apocalypse, Tyson mysteries and Mystery inc have you covered and I’m sure they could see the Gunn cut of the Scooby doo movie for ideas. Lesbian velma already done 3 times better than the Velma show. None of this stuff should be difficult yet the writers turned the show into a dumpster fire.
Heres my alternative pitch for a Velma show. The Scooby gang disappeare leaving Velma and Shaggy. Velma has to put together a new team composed of popular Scooby doo characters to save them. The show swaps back and fourth between Velma Shaggy, scrappy doo, hotdog water and Vincent while the rest of the gang trying and failing to escape but learning more about their captors along the way. I’m not saying the show would be amazing and they would all be acting within character
Velma; really just focused on getting her friends back
Shaggy; a bit of guilt realizing he is probably the most useless person left to help velma
Scrappy; takes over for scooby Actually trying to redeem him by having him grow up a bit (the movie will have nothing to do with this incarnation) and save his uncle
Vincint; I don’t know enough about him because HBO only has the bad movies and I would have written more if it wasn’t for those meddling executives. He gets to just be himself and I really hate how streaming services despite supposedly making it easy to watch whatever you want only make it harder
Marcie; MI spoilers She takes over for Fred as the trap expert and there is a reasonable amount of romantic tension but it never goes overboard

@Tyranexx That's exactly why I do it, It gives me a budget on how much I can spend. I do the same on GOG and Steam most of the time too. I'll always buy something during the Winter Sales, and then save the rest for the Summer Sales.
Same here, usually when I shop, I like looking for stuff related to things I like, like stuff related to my favorite cartoons and characters. Sometimes I do need to do an errand for mom, and sometimes it does get mixed in.

It's my birthday! The clock struck midnight an hour ago... and with that, I am officially 31 years old. I'll be having a nice lil' party and delicious cake today, and I think I'll also play one of my favorite Mario games to celebrate the occasion! Maybe even have a Disney movie night.
@Sunsy That's an interesting idea for sure, perhaps for the next Mario Kart game, we could have a Rainbow Cup that's all Rainbow Road courses. Agreed on the Luigi's Mansion course, I like the game that it's based on and I actually love a good haunted level/course too!
Ah gotcha, it's your call where you wanna play it and stuff. I'm pretty all right with using a classic controller, at least the pro version of it. It's been so long since I used the original Wii classic controller!
Yeah, cartridge tilting didn't work for me, either. All that happens is the game freezes. That Sonic 3 level select method sounds a lot like Stop 'n Swop from Banjo-Kazooie, where you'd get colored eggs and an ice key, then swap to a different game. I don't think it worked very well on the N64, but I think they kept Stop 'n Swop intact in the 360 version of Banjo-Kazooie. I only played it on the N64 though.
On that Nintendo iceberg video, that's cool... pun intended, lol! Does it cover old Nintendo rumors and stuff like that? I think Scott The Woz did a video on gaming mysteries, that's the one I watched. I think he covered the Luigi rumor in Super Mario 64.
Oh that's cool Asphalt 9 has online, perhaps we could play it sometime. From what I've played, it's a pretty solid racing game.
@Tyranexx Ah yeah for sure, they ain't taking away MPT from me! I got it for 50% off when it came out on the Wii U eShop too, and I could not pass it up! On MPH, gotcha - it'll be interesting to see what I think if I ever revisit it. That's cool you gave it a chance, even if it's a game that doesn't sit well with me, I don't regret playing it. Ah gotcha... I wonder how a potential Switch version of Uprising would play. Maybe it could have dual stick/gyro aiming, or something like that.
I love Planet Robobot, thanks for asking. It's a very solid Kirby game, and the mechs are so much fun to use. It may even be one of the best Kirby games to me. I haven't finished it yet, but I've got a lot of progress in it.

@Anti-Matter maybe that's the reason. YKW sounds very simplistic with everything happening on its own. I prefer more manual games where you have to do everything yourself.
@ChaoticKirby@Kermit1 I agree that taking a break helps with motivation, it's a very sound advice. 1 week should be enough. If you are still struggling, maybe you should think about how you approach things? I have the same issue with drawing and it helps me to read a book about drawing to remind myself that I already know something, that it's not been all in vain. I am still worried because a year later my lines are still shake'y, but I'd rather try again a week later with my head clear.
@EaglyTheKawaiiShika Yeah I totally get you. I don't have any issues with race swapping, it's just that I thought it would be the main point of criticism, seeing how things turn out with such a move. I remember that one cosplayer had a lot of trouble at a contest because they used plates showing skin in a different colour than their own skin, the jury decided mid contest that it was suddenly not ok and it turned into a hot mess.
