This weekend was pretty good, won a few games of Apex, tried the Call of Duty MWII open beta (on PC), did an errand for my mom, and played some classic DOS games including Magic Carpet, Mortal Kombat and Screamer.
@Tyranexx Yeah, I haven't followed the channel, but I've seen his videos get recommended. Always enjoyed watching his videos. On the subject of cooking channels, I sometimes watch Kent Rollins. He's a cowboy who does outdoors cooking, which is something I miss doing. I use to love BBQing outside at my old place.
I don't think I ever got any sample of an eBook. There's those special book lights, or using a phone light, or flashlight. Yeah, 10 years ago, there was a major hurricane that hit the area. Thankfully I was more in-land, so didn't get it as bad as the coastal areas (actually the shelter for the coastal residents was five minutes from where I lived, was pretty safe). The worst was a few uprooted trees and no power for a week. You're lucky you live more in-land, at least you don't have to deal with such storms.
@MarioLover92 Yeah, it's a nice shirt and I've been waiting to wear it. I also got a holiday themed shirt, haven't wore it yet. This one has Poppy in her holiday outfit, wrapped in Christmas lights. It's cute and funny.
Yeah, Xybots was like a third person maze game with some shooting in it. It is very impressive given how early it was released. Wow, never heard of Berzerk.
Gosh, I still remember how hard F-Zero GX was when I rented it on GameCube. I did enjoy playing the tracks in F-Zero GP Legend on Wii U. Kind of wish I had it for my GBA back when it was new, I also liked how on the ranking screen, "James McCloud" was one of the racers.
Most likely they do, she offers them to a troll named Hickory in one scene. Yeah, I no longer have the VHS tape, but I have the Platinum Edition DVD, and the Signature Edition Blu-Ray of the movie. Despite popular opinion, I actually enjoyed that new live action Disney+ version of Pinocchio, even with some of the new additions to it. Pinocchio is pretty much my childhood Disney character. I liked a lot of Disney characters as a kid, but Pinocchio was my favorite. I still have my Pinocchio plush I had as a kid, though the color on the eyes chipped away with age (could be restored via paint though).

@MarioLover92 XC3 has been king of my castle for the past month and a half, and I'm sure it'll be close to two months before I put it down for a bit lol. My hope is to reach the end credits this weekend at the earliest. Fully depends on how my week goes though. I'm actually mildly curious about the Donkey Kong Land games as well. I like DK, though I admittedly haven't ever taken to any of the games he and his usual cast members are present in besides the Donkey Kong Country titles and as cameos in games like MK8D. I've heard Pocket Card Jockey is great! Not quite my cup of tea though admittedly. Wario Land is a great series in general; I really wish Nintendo would revisit it again.
@Sunsy I admittedly don't watch a lot of cooking stuff on YouTube besides Babish mostly, though I do get the rare recommendation for a channel that likes making me hungry with desserts. I believe it's either a German or Dutch account that uses English subs.
I do own a book light but barely ever use it; I might take it along on my next trip, however. Was that Hurricane Sandy, by chance? I recall seeing some pretty crazy footage from that storm; THAT was devastating. Hurricanes don't really affect where I am outside of remnants, but we can get quite a lot of rain if the remaining low is stagnant enough. We usually don't sustain that much widespread damage, but tornadoes are somewhat common where I live. I'm not quite in Tornado Alley and have never seen one in person, but I've seen the aftereffects more than once and was very close to where one touched down on my way home from work several years ago (Very weak; an EF0). THAT was freaky, the sky was weird colors and everything.
Random thing that happened, went to the theater with a friend and saw Howl's Moving Castle tonight. Loved it, posted some thoughts in the movie thread.
@Tyranexx Funnily enough, I get random cooking recommendations, mostly quick meal ideas. I think it sounds like the stuff you're talking about it. I remember desert videos that get recommended, or simple cooking ones.
Yes, it was Sandy. Crazy to think it's been about 10 years. Having no power was tough, though, I did use my GBA to pass the time, listened to the local radio for updates, and on Halloween, did turn on my laptop just to play some Doom that night (battery was fully charged, so I did that). Wow, at least you never seen one. I can imagine tornadoes are scary. I think there was one a couple towns away, but it didn't affect my town, I remember hearing it in the news the next day.
Speaking of weather, hope @Kermit1 is staying safe and is doing alright.

There is nothing more creepy than laying in your room at night and hearing a loud chirping noise on the desk right in front of your bed. It was just my brothers mourning geckos chirping, but it had me freaked out for a few minutes. I need to go to bed.
Currently playing: Pokemon Soul Silver, Mario RPG

Went for a bike ride today... easily became the worst day of the year. Scorching temperature and an awful headwind meant I rode down a 10k strip of road, turned back and didn't even make it halfway before falling off my bike due to exhaustion.
Don't be as silly as me. Stay indoors and play video games.
Images of the NASA/APL DART probe asteroid deflection impact from a distance. They hit the moon of a binary asteroid, which in turn shifts the center of gravity of two rotating bodies, and shifts their trajectory. This asteroid was not a threat to earth. This was just a test. It was 7 million miles away. 11.2 million km.
also here's the probe's last first person view pic before impact
@WoomyNNYes Imagine if a few minutes later, while everyone's celebrating, you see this:
(I'm aware they didn't destroy the asteroid but you know what I mean)

That's not how it works! 😠😠😠
Life is not a video game, @Fizza!
(I'm just playing<3 😁😁)
@NeonPizza Yeah, when ThanosReXXX stopped being active here, his Switch friend activity also stopped. Except for a couple very brief moments. I assume he found more productive things to do. Which is probably healthy. I get he feeling he was spending more time in here than he wanted. He was cool, though.
@Sunsy Oh that does sound cute and funny for sure, lol. My sweater has a picture of Mario on it (it's the same 2D portrait from Super Mario 3D World), and it's in three colors (red, black, and white). I may get a picture of it at some point.
Yeah, Berzerk's a good game for sure, I do recommend it if you like arcade games from the 80s and stuff like that. I played it at my local arcade a couple times, and on my uncle's Atari 2600. (Fun fact, that's the oldest console I played - not the NES!)
Ah yeah, F-Zero GX is no walk in the park. Both the grand prix and story mode are really tough, I remember it took dozens of times for me to finish a good number of chapters in the latter. I still have my copy from way back when. I actually had F-Zero: GP Legend back when it came out, it was a pretty decent game from what I remember, though I think I liked the other ones more. Then again, it's been years since I've played it. Yep, James McCloud's one of the racers in that game, as well as in X and GX.
That's cool. I never saw the live-action Pinocchio, perhaps I'll see it at some point. I do want to give Sleeping Beauty a watch at some point, that's one Disney animated movie that I've never seen as a kid. Yep, Pinocchio's a noteworthy character from my childhood as well, as well as Jiminy Cricket. I even had a plush of Jiminy when I was very young.
I do hope @Kermit1 is doing OK, as well. It's been a while since they've posted, I've sent them my best wishes on my previous post.
@Tyranexx All righty - would be cool for you to finish XC3, though no big deal if you don't. We all got life to deal with, after all. I do like Donkey Kong as well, especially the Donkey Kong Country games, which is pretty much why I wanna get the DKL games. I never had any of those games as a kid, just the DKC trilogy on the SNES, and Donkey Kong 64. Yeah, that'd be cool for them to revisit the Wario Land games after so long. I actually do have Wario Land: Shake It, but I haven't spent too much time on it. Maybe after I beat all the Game Boy entries or something.
@NeonPizza@Eel@WoomyNNYes Yeah, it's been a long while since we've seen Thanos. Hopefully he's doing all right.

Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I'd like to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
@Anti-Matter I'm not back yet, it's going to be a little longer.
Power lines are down everywhere (and snapped in two), trees are down everywhere, thank God there was very little rain or else we'd all be out of power for weeks. Right now I'm at MCDonalds stocking up on stuff for Netflix.
This is a legit image of my room at night
See ya'll next week!
