When I read the comments about Chocobo GP (Chocobo Racing), I saw some negativity there from calling it cheap clones, not liking Final Fantasy, rip off, underperformed, etc.
I don't understand with mindset of some Nintendo gamers that still persistently praise Mario Kart games model but despise the clones by 3rd party developers.
I mean, in my opinion as a PlayStation gamer also during my teenhood, the clones by 3rd party developers were not always bad as peoples thought. It just peoples never give a chance to let other kart racing games to shine, keep thinking Mario Kart games as the only worthy model of games to play.
In my unpopular opinion also, Mod Nation Racers PS3 had some better features than Mario Kart games but some peoples still despise that game.

While I don't have this mindset, Team Sonic Racing is one of my favorite racing games on Switch and PC (got it cheap awhile back due to sale), I tend to love kart racers. I also have Crash Team Racing, and the Sonic & All-Stars Series in addition to the Mario Kart games.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
@Sunsy
I will get Team Sonic Racing PS4 at the end of year 2021 as I keep delaying to purchase PS4 / Switch games during this year in order for me to build my Gamecube, Wii and Wii U games library.
BTW, about Mario movie.
Jack Black as Bowser, Bowser will sounds like Kung Fu Panda. 🤭
I wonder if in Mario movie 2022, all characters will literally talking, not just grunting (Oh, Agh, Ew, Huh, etc) or speaking with signature quotes (Mario = It's me Mario, Okay Dokey, Mamma Mia, Wuaaahahahaha...).
Okay, so I finally managed to watch the direct, and thankfully I got the chance to watch it spoiler-free! (Well most of it lol). I'd say my favorite announcements were
Kirby And The Forgotten Land
I'm really hoping this one isn't as easy and short as Kirby star allies.
New Mario Golf update
I can't believe they made Ninji a character lol! I'm definitely gonna be using him!
N64 & Gensis games
I really hope that the new membership doesn't cost too much more. The games they showed off were absolutely insane! I haven't played any N64 games outside of the original smash bros and Star Fox 64. I really want to try Paper Mario, Banjo-Kazooie, Ocarina of Time (yeah, I haven't played it lol), and pretty much everything else. The Genesis games look great also, I really want to give phantasy star 4 a try.
Castlevania Advanced Collection
I loved the anniversary collection so there's no way I'd miss out on this one I hope I can get it on sale like the first collection.
Deltarune Chapter 2
I really loved undertale and from what I remember I really liked Deltarunes first chapter as well. However, it's been a very long time since I last played either of them so I might just end up doing another playthrough of both.
Mario movie cast
I see I'm not the only one who was fascinated by this lol
Bayonetta 3
I'm a bit sad that this was the one thing I got spoiled on but needless to say, I am SOOOO HYPED for this! It's about time I do another playthrough of Bayonetta 1 and 2. Even though I got spoiled on this reveal, there was a very brief moment where I thought the trailer was for Astral Chain lol. Bayonetta's new voice will take some getting used too but honestly, I'm just really happy this game finally got another trailer.
Of course, there were titles that were already announced like Metroid Dread, and Splatoon 3 which were very welcome. I do have to say though, I'm very surprised we didn't see anything new about Advanced Wars. Seeing how that's actually coming out in winter I thought we would've seen that mentioned.
Oh boy. Yeah had some talks about dubbing the movie in the Netherlands earlier. I wonder how the movie will fit in.
Have a nice day. Voiceactor: The Pirates! (Sony/Aardman 2012) - The Passion: A Brickfilm (Neema 2019) - The Torchlighters: The Story of John Newton (Vision Video 2022) - [NEW] Minno's Laugh and Grow Bible (Minno - 2024)
@Anti-Matter Regarding the mario movie, I think the plot may be humans inhabiting nintendo characters, like we saw in Detective Pikachu. Or maybe something like the plot of the recent Jumanji movies, the main characters were avatars for other actors. Guess we'll see when movie footage releases.
Guys, remember with new rules of PEGI about simulated gambling ?
I saw from playasia, there will be an upcoming casino game called Poker Club on PS4 & PS5.
While the game got rated Teen by ESRB, it rated 18 by PEGI.
Well.... Kinda hurt to see, a rated 18 for Casino games with virtual currency to play, not using real money to play. 😣
@TheJGG First of all, nice to "see" you in the Nintendo Direct chat! It was a fairly decent one, and I'm happy for some fans. Nothing new was revealed that I need day one, but there was something for almost everyone. My favorite things to come out of the bunch were Metroid Dread and Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Also glad Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is receiving a physical release, and I'm cautiously optimistic about Triangle Strategy. That last one will require more feedback and likely another demo. Looks like the Mario movie has a decent cast overall, though I'm still getting over the slight shock of Martinet not actually voicing the plumber. Time will tell, and I do hope to judge the film on my own terms vs. some of the knee-jerk reactions already popping up online. Hopefully you weren't too sleep-deprived; It was between 5-6 PM here, so it was dinnertime, not bedtime.
Glad to know I'm not the only one who's been busy, though I'm glad you're able to find some downtime here and there. I've made a little downtime - I've taken today and Monday off, I'm leaving on a small weekend trip tomorrow - to give myself some fun and R&R before a crazy October. I did listen to the songs you linked last time. While I acknowledge The Avalanches as talented, they admittedly aren't quite my cup of tea. CHVRCHES was more to my liking, enough that I do believe I'll give them more listening time soon. Thanks for the suggestions!
On Ys VIII: My initial first impression was very good, but it did fizzle a bit a few hours in when the gameplay and story loop (or lack of any meaningful happenings, really) became a bit same-y...but then the plot started ramping up and became very good after that. Happy you appreciated the music! Spot on with "Deadly Temptation", it plays during some boss sequences. It's suitable for getting the blood pumping! "Opening" uses such an amazing blend of instruments; it's actually attached to the opening video sequence of the game, but I didn't link that in case you wished to experience it when playing...though it doesn't really spoil anything. It acts more as a general overview. It might be a bit before I get to Ys IX: Monstrum Nox since I now intend to play most of the remaining games in narrative order...unless I run out of patience. XD The site Digital Emelas has been a huge help. Most of the games are self-contained story-wise, but there is some overarching lore from what I understand.
I do agree that headphones aren't ideal for all situations; unless I anticipate being in noisy environments on a long trip, I usually do take earbuds since they're more portable. Still, they don't filter out noise as well, and I don't feel that they're as great a quality compared to over-ears phones. True, they are more likely to fall out as a result. I actually still use wired earbuds; I'm not pleased with the battery life for most wireless kinds, plus I'm old-school and still prefer an actual mic jack in my phone.
I actually did manage to read chapter 6 and some of chapter 7 of your Xenoblade novel. I intended to read all of chapter 7, but it was late then and...I fell asleep. Not because I was bored by any means - it was in the middle of the Mechon invasion of Colony 9, after all - but because I was so thoroughly exhausted lol. Looking forward to the Frontier Village bit; that was one of my favorite areas of the game due to how the town was laid out in that giant tree. It felt so...vast, yet quaint and homely at the same time.
While I can't directly contest whether or not the PS5 showcase beat out Nintendo's E3 Direct (I'm of the opinion that Nintendo had a large hand in saving this year's E3, and that's from someone who did watch some of the other showcases), it does sound like Sony's offerings are truly solid. I'd be on board with Spider-Man 2 - love the web-slinger - and Project EVE sounds awesome, though I know little about it. In theory I'd like the God of War series since I enjoy Greek/Roman mythology, but something about the gameplay showcased has never quite appealed to me. Can't quite put my finger on it. I was unaware the team behind that REALLY awesome Majora's Mask short film released a game, so thank you for mentioning Kena: Bridge of Spirits. I want to look into it now! No surprise they're re-releasing other evergreen hits, but hey, money talks, amirite? That said, despite the fact that I own Skyrim on the Switch, I still need to play it....
On the BotW DLC: Thanks! I've found all the extra clothing/armor pieces already and have also been abusing the new horse gear and Korok mask. I hope to visit the Shrine of Resurrection later and start the Champions Ballad main quest. I'll probably leave Trial of the Sword for near last and see how far I get without throwing in the towel; I've heard it's difficult lol.
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet DLC, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
I read enough of the Pratt comment section to realize that it isn't worth my time and sanity to finish reading it or, heaven forbid, post in it. I recognize he's a flawed human being, but nobody is perfect. I haven't yet seen any films with him in them (Again, still need to watch much of the MCU), but the dude clearly has the talent. The movie isn't even out yet, and people are already complaining. How about we wait until reviews come out or...I dunno...actually see the film? Yes, it's strange Martinet isn't voicing Mario, but we haven't heard him do more than sound bits and phrases. TBH, I'm not sure I'd want an entire movie with his Mario voice, as iconic as it is.
@Sunsy My brain only keep supplying Po and his mannerisms from Kung-Fu Panda, but with a Bowser skin superimposed over it all. XD I'm sure that's not an accurate impression though.
Btw, I do agree with your comments elsewhere regarding the announced new NSO tier. While I don't dislike the service, I've been fairly critical of it from the start since I believe it could easily be improved; sure, Xbox Live and PS+ cost more, but they offer you more for your money. Then there's PC, where the only connectivity you pay for is through your internet provider. Though my stance on the PC side of things is less from a gamer's perspective - I haven't intensely gamed on PC in years - and more from a general IT perspective.
I think people go to the movie to hear Charles now. Not Mario....

@Tyranexx
I don't understand for some peoples keep bad talking about certain famous peoples due to their scandals. Nobody perfect, even peoples like Britney Spears, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Whitney Houston, etc have ever made mistakes and controversial things.
Speaking about Mario movie, Bowser voice is very deep low, so I think Jack Black voice can be lowered the pitch to match with Bowser fierce voice. Mario by Chris Pratt probably will sounds like Barley from Onward (Disney Pixar) with funny accent. Btw, don't you think Ian (Onward) was look like Alfredo Linguini (Ratatouille) and Barley look like Sullivan (Monster Inc) ?
