I'm sometimes reminded that a main writer of a legit gaming website used to post here and post his weird, sometimes hilariously bad takes on here on a regular basis. Good times.
My favorite is when he got mad at me for calling Kinect Sports a Wii Sports ripoff. Which is funny on its own, but then it came out that the higher ups at Microsoft literally told Rare to make a Wii Sports but for Kinect.
@Sunsy That's cool, my Christmas was pretty good too. I ended up getting Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Dragon Quest XI S, and Cadence of Hyrule. (As well as some other things including an eShop card.) Enjoy your stuff

I'm determined to not pick up more RPGs or story-heavy games until Monster Hunter Rise drops. So far I've been successful with that and sticking to my monthly gaming budget, but I'm starting to get the buying itch again. Mainly for the Professor Layton prequel trilogy as I haven't played those yet. Funnily enough, Azran Legacy, despite being the most recent release of the three, might be the hardest one to grab physicslly as it didn't have a long print run. I was holding out, hoping the Switch would receive a collection or two since Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy jumped over, but with Level-5 bailing on Western operations, said hope died. Miracle Mask, conversely, will be the easiest to grab.
@Sunsy Looks like a pretty decent haul! You do seem pleased. I haven't played Age of Calamity yet - I'm working my way through BotW right now and was afraid of spoilers - but Hyrule Warriors is a fun non-canon Zelda game with plenty of nods to the series. Its plot isn't baked into anything like AoC however.
@SM3DASislit My Christmas was more low-key this year than usual. Normally it's pretty nuts lol. Not that I'm complaining; I actually fit in some gaming! My immediate family had a small meal and gift exchange, and my mom's side still wanted to do something, so there was food + gifts Christmas night as well. And I still ate too much....
I got most of what I wanted off of my list. Besides the games, I also received a $10 eShop card, a novel (The Silence of the Lambs), the next two volumes I need from the My Hero Academia manga, and a few odd things I need for my house. The big thing was a new bed set as my current one has seen better days. XD I was least excited about receiving clothes - WAY too many shirts - but unfortunately they're about a given lol. A lot of my family likes buying them.
@HotGoomba___Rebrand I love Garfield. I read some of the comic volumes as a kid and am sure I've watched an animated holiday special or two.
Also, I didn't know you're an artist! I like to doodle on occasion, but I learned ages ago that I can't live off my art. I'm nowhere near patient enough most of the time, nor am I amazing at translating what's in my head onto paper or a screen.
@ThanosReXXX Covid affected some Christmas plans on my end too. The celebrations I did attend had few people and were fairly low-key. Looks like you received plenty of awesome gifts and gave away some cool ones of your own too! I enjoy giving gifts to others, but I may be a bit biased towards my younger cousins lol. They're more fun to buy for, and their reactions are a thing to see.
Looks like you reeled in quite the gaming haul too! Some well reviewed ones in there too, if I recall. I've been attracted to Horace as of late thanks to all the praise it has been receiving here. Haven't jumped for it yet though.
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet DLC, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
@Tyranexx Ah I see. I do have a few tapes in storage too, just haven't got around to set back up the VCR. Oh speaking of VHS tapes, I used to have a few tapes from Nintendo that promoted N64 games. I had tapes for Diddy Kong Racing and Banjo-Kazooie, plus one more that had Jet Force Gemini and Donkey Kong 64. If you think about it, they were pretty much the first Nintendo Directs, before they were even called that, lol. I no longer have the tapes, but thankfully they're on YouTube now.
Oh and my Christmas was pretty good. Gave some good presents, plus I got a few Switch games, an eShop card, a blu-ray for My Hero Academia season 2, and some other stuff. Been playing Fire Emblem: Three Houses the past few days, too.

@Tyranexx Cool, I didn't know the original Hyrule Warriors was non-canon. I'll still try to check it out somehow, whether it's Wii U, 3DS, or the Switch re-release. Having fun with Age of Calamity so far.
@Anti-Matter Wow, Ultramix. I remember that as one of the first Xbox games my brother got. Use to play it quite a bit too, he had the mat too. That was the only DDR game we had.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
@Sunsy
My next target is getting DDR Ultramix 3 & 4 from Ebay and then done.
Only 4 XBOX games that i will collect (DDR Ultramix 1 - 4) since the multi console games during PS2 / XBOX / Gamecube era are worthier to be played on PS2 or Gamecube rather than on XBOX.
The XBOX exclusive games are mostly the games i really hate most (too many rated 18+ shooter games / action games), even Blinx the only rated E XBOX only game didn't even impressed me for very confusing gameplay.
My target for XBOX 360 are getting until 16 games with ratio = 4 Non Kinect games (DDR Universe 1 - 3 + Zoo Tycoon) & 12 Kinect games.
I never understand the appeal of Gamepass, partial backward compatible by licence updates (not by disc emulating) from XBOX machines. I played very different games, the casual, niche and unpopular games, is that wrong to get equal treatments for Backward Compatible on XBOX ONE and Series X ?
Microsoft seems doesn't even like casual gamers to get treated equally (they stopped supporting Kinect games), just only care with hardcore gamers for bloodspilling games only.
For Gamepass, i never like in the slightest for 2 reasons: i don't want renting games, i don't even want to see any rated 18+ games appeared on my system as ready to play free games. They are bloody hell forbidden in my gaming area.
I will buy only 2 XBOX machines: XBOX Classic and XBOX 360. Only those machines that have 20 worthy games combined. 20 games are still quite a lot for my collections.
After XBOX 360, i don't even see something worthy from XBOX ONE, not even the slighest for Series X.
@Sunsy Thanks! Been playing FE:3H the past few days, so that was the first one I played. Enjoying it so far, even though I'm not that good at tactical games lol. I also got season 2 of My Hero Academia on blu-ray, as well. Glad you're having fun with AoC
@Anti-Matter I'm kind of the same way. I mean I get why people like Game Pass, as it offers like 100 games for those who subscribe to it, but I already have a ton of games to begin with (most of them on Nintendo consoles) so I like sticking with what I have and adding to it. And I don't have an Xbox anyway, nor am I getting one anytime soon.

@MarioLover92
DDR and Kinect games are main reasons i must have XBOX and XBOX 360.
I'm totally fine to not following XBOX ONE and Series X as from XBOX ONE, only 3 games i have interest about and All those 3 games are actually the Remaster version of 3 games from XBOX 360 (Kinect Disneyland Adventures, Kinect Rush Disney Adventures and Zoo Tycoon).
I will not buy XBOX ONE for only 3 games.
It just wasting my money.
The multi console games i can consider the PS4 or Switch version but not the XBOX ONE version as XBOX ONE games need Online checking before playing and that was suck.
@Anti-Matter There's literally just one Xbox One game that I'd like, and that's Rare Replay. Last I knew, it's not on PC/Steam or Switch, just the X1. I'm kinda hoping it makes its way to the Switch, so that'd be one less console for me to buy! And yeah, I hate how the X1 does that online checking thing too...I remember when it was first announced and they said you have to be connected online to play your games. That left a bad first impression on me.

@MarioLover92
I heard Xbox Series X did the same thing too, especially when you put XBOX ONE disc into Series X.
I know Microsoft want to stop piracy but online checking was a terrible idea for video game.
But alas, Xbox Series X looks ridiculous atrocious in machine design (looks like mini fridge LOL) and the price (Here in Indonesia, XBOX series X priced around Rp 11,000,000 or more than US$ 783 !!)
@Eel
I'm really confused now.
I was talking with ThanosReXXX about this, and he said that Nintendo Life had one for the first half of the time that he's been on here. I only joined this year, so I never had an emoji menu bar option, but I thought it was weird (and kind of confusing) that Nintendo Life doesn't have one since other websites have it. 🤔
@Tyranexx
Okay, that's good that you got some in gaming on Christmas. Nice, I also got most of the stuff I wanted off my list.
Sounds like you'll be busy for a while.
Please give Ninjala a chance, guys. 🤔

@Anti-Matter
That's what I've started to do. However, the thinking face that I like to use doesn't seem to work, so I just use the emoji that I've been using for that, but thanks for the advice, though.
