@Heavyarms55 I'm kinda with you. Most of the episodes I've seen were from the first season, when Red and Blue first came out. I've seen a good amount of episodes from the early 2000s too, but that's where I stopped. I was kind of surprised to see that they keep making episodes to this day too. My goodness...there's like a bajillion of them.

@MarioLover92 Pokemon actually makes most of their money from the merchandise. The anime, trading card game, toys, stuffed animals, etc. The games act as a seed crystal for new stuff to sell in the end. lol

@Heavyarms55 Wow, even more so than the main series games? That's surprising, I thought those would be the biggest money makers. My brother (who was and still is HUGE into Pokemon) had plenty of all those too, so I guess that makes sense. XD

@MarioLover92 Yup. Not that the games aren't money makers but think about it, a lot more goes into making a game than a plushie or plastic toy. Especially when the character designs are already done in the games. And the card game is hugely profitable because it is both a highly competitive and popular game with, pre-COVID19, yearly tournament series from local to worlds level, but also sought after by collectors too.

@NintendoByNature
ive been on forums long enough to shoot move and communicate.
we had a site running for like what seemed 20 years lol.
i was asked to join to bring some pizzazz to the place.
i became an admin of sorts and we had shirts and dog tags for it and stuff.
it was all about making fun of people. my mom joined that place and me and the other admins had to warn her that this place is all about waiting for someone to make the wrong move and yer gonna get roasted at our convenience and at your expense. it was a blast. we had models too. there were some celebrities that secretly joined to survey the rawcus lol. one time people were asking if this rapper had a myspace and i responded like "hell naw that ****** **** aint got no myspace page, he probably dont even have internet"
well, he called me that same day and was like "uh can you go back and edit all that because i have 5 myspace pages" lol
good times indeed.
@Wavey84
i dont really watch movies. the only movie that exists to me is one movie.
its dangerous to go alone!
take this.

@Heavyarms55 Once again, it's clear you never listened to a thing I said....tsk, tsk.

The anti mask thing is spreading worldwide faster than the disease though..... Earths population simply is convinced they won't get it so everything is fine as normal. We just started it here.

Honestly, America's screwed up, but i think even more than the place, the times are screwed up especially in the west. Japan is just a bubble stuck in the 80s and that's why it seems more familiar than here. The times changed here, and the west in general, in very negative ways... . Those of us that didn't change with them are an anachronism.

But most of it happened in the past 10 years or so. Maybe it's the 2008 crash. People realized how disposable they are and it became a war if everyone for themselves. No, it started before then... It just accelerated dramatically then.

But the freak weather.... That also seems to be the past 10 years. It's all completely different and so volatile. Here we rarely ever go more then 36 hours without rain now. Often daily rain. Usually heavy flooding downpours. It never used to be like that. Summer especially was droughts most years. Brown lawns. Past 4 or 5 years just just endless mud flows, and the lightest part of the year in June looks like October... It's always dark even at noon.

Doing the "but at least i got animal crossing and Pokemon"thing isn't childish.... It's literally the only way to stay grounded and not snap and end up a 24h news cycle. and now you understand why the country has a violence problem that can't be solved... Just like i said years ago.

@Wavey84 wiimote was a terribad controller. The concept was great, but it was cheap and imprecise in the extreme, and lost track constantly. It was a gimmick first and foremost.

The wiiu gamepad actually fixed that and had a car more precise gyro with compass based centering. Switch and dual shock gyros are middling at best. Occulus has good motion controls. For the price of a Porsche.

Stick aiming does really suck though. Fps on console just sucks because of it. But mice, while not immersive, are simply darned accurate and responsive... Can't top them for precision at all except maybe that Oculus motion controls. Mice are pixel perfect and high end ones have amazing imaging optics when sensors and resolutions that rival high end cameras.

I have loved the Civilization games since I was a kid. I got drunk last weekend and bought the DLC expansion pass on PC so I kinda felt a little obligated to play it more. But I had a lot of fun with this run. This series has always allowed some super funny nonsense at times. Case in point, I completed my moon landing BEFORE I built the first airplane, in 1908. And then I colonized Mars by 1936 and launched the extra solar mission merely 20 years later. As Scotland, I had developed computers in the mid 1800s, and had jet bombers ready to use when France decided to invade with their brand new riflemen and black powder cannons... It did not go well for them. I also completed the Manhatten Project and Project Ivy just for the era points because I had two fully developed cities with nothing else useful to do.

Oh yeah, and I like the new DLC secret society stuff. I joined the Hermetic Order, and the Alchemy Lab is kinda OP if you're doing a science run. And lay-lines feel like cheating.

@NEStalgia I wont say I've read everything you ever said on this site, but I have read a lot of it. Even if I don't always respond.

@Heavyarms55 Yeah you're absolutely right, making games is much more involved than making toys. Stuff like level design, programming, AI, play testing, the list goes on.

Happy National Video Games Day, hope everyone took some time to play their favorites. For me it was Sonic Heroes and Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo Olympics.

@Heavyarms55 Interesting. I remember when I started watching again in 2016, I didn't finish XY. Not because I didn't like it, I just didn't have the time too, similarly, I did enjoy some of the episodes more than I was expecting to. Last new Pokemon thing I watched was one of the movies. Not Detective Pikachu, I did see that one, it was the "I Choose You" movie. The one that was a retelling of how Ash got Pikachu IIRC.

The resident Trolls superfan! Looking forward to Trolls Band Together this November!

Sweet, sweet rain. It's been dry as a bone here for the past couple of weeks. We were supposed to get a shower or two last week at one point, but it all marched north.

@NEStalgia Remember the Pizza Hut conversation we had ages ago? Where I mentioned the chain was going downhill around here? Turns out some existing problems with underperforming locations coupled with hits from the pandemic caused the franchisee who owned many of the Pizza Hut restaurants in my region to file Chapter 11 bankruptcy. No more Pizza Hut here...or in a lot of towns.

Can't say I'll miss what it has become, but there's a bit of nostalgia for their arcade machines (now nonexistent) and sticker kiosks....

@NintendoByNature Ogoception!

Also, before I forget for the 50th time, happy fellow birthday month to both you and @bimmy-lee! ^_^

@Tyranexx - Thank you, and a very happy birthday month to you as well. I’m honored to have been thought of and mentioned by you. How have you been? I’ve retired from the real world, and I’m now a full time dad and home school teacher, at least for this school year. Maybe I’ll re emerge some day, pale and blinking at the sun with a beard that reaches the floor.

@Ogo79 - I’m my own celebrity, and I had a MySpace page. That was probably me dude. I think I remember that conversation with you. Sometime around 05-06 if I remember correctly. Anyway, I gotta go, the Pork Chop Express don’t drive itself.

@Wavey84 I saw Cobra-Kai. Saw the first 3 episodes and so far it’s awesome. Humor mixed with nostalgia mixed with the classic karate chopping that we know and love. Pretty good so far.

Have you and Ryno tied the knot yet??
He would most def not approve of you selling your entire shrine of video game plastic scratch that, there's a good chance he already sold all of his which typically happens when gamers push past their mid 30's i have nothing left aside from like 4 carts, a copy of mario galaxy 2, and a brand new sega genesis 6 button controller. plus 0 physical copies of movies. what a deadly combo lol it felt amazing getting rid of my entire dvd collection, or what was left of it. digital streaming, renting and buying for life dooders.

most gamers already have that have ventured into their 30's. just the way it goes.

ah...you know what?
i remember him mentioning selling stuff or realizing its all just sitting around.
he had a couple kids and probably received the famous "its me or the games" lecture from boss lady.
someone tried to pull that on me and i packed off the game room and left. lol
if he sold his earthbound stuff between me and him thats 4 official strategy guides gone in the wind.

@Wavey84 oh yeah I’m definitely not stopping. Great show. I was always a big fan of the 80s even if I wasn’t there around that time. Their style, music, clothing, movies etc. we’re all very incredible and likeable. I’m glad the show gets even better.

Brings back memories of watching the original secretly like 30 times when I was 10 or 11. I wasn’t exactly aloud to watch it then.
