@BruceCM I always stick to water-based ice aka popsicles for that. The creamy part of ice cream/soft serve actually works as a counter towards refreshing you or cooling you down, so it's only a temporary effect. The best type of ice is probably the kind based upon frozen fruit. All natural and chock-full of water, which is obviously what quenches the thirst. My personal favorite is pear-flavored:
No artificial coloring or flavoring and low in calories, just frozen fruit on a stick, basically.
Just like I like them...
I do like some lollies, still, @ThanosReXXX ... At least over here, though, you do get proper ice-cream that's made with mostly natural ingredients! Still like to try that Superman one, just to find out what it does taste like
@BruceCM Well, they're not lollies. It's ice. Over here, one is called soft ice, and the other is called "water ice". The word popsicle might hover a bit more near the childish, but seeing as there is no other word for it in English, I had no choice but to use it.
As for fresh-ingredient ice cream: that's more than likely available all over the world, in some shape or form, those two examples in those pictures simply aren't one of them. Truth be told, for every healthy and/or fresh ingredient ice cream there's probably dozens of artificially flavored/colored ones, so it's still an uphill battle for those (usually) far smaller companies, to market their natural ice cream flavors.
Well, I'm not sure what we have that's more like popsicles, then, @ThanosReXXX .... Although I live in a city, it's surrounded by farms & so on, so you get all the proper ingredients locally for things! Supermarkets here seem to like being able to put labels on their food to say where the meat is from & so on, too
@BruceCM Haha, yeah, that's going on over here as well. And usually it's reflected in the price. I mean, if you want the cheapest of the cheap, then there's also "water ice sticks", which is basically all kinds of (yes, artificially) flavored and colored water in a thin, rectangular plastic bag, like these:
A bag of those will set you back around 1 euros, whereas those pear ice sticks I posted earlier, usually cost around two to three times as much. Same will probably count for all kinds of other products: slap a "biological" or "free range" label on it, and you're allowed to double the price...

There was a time when I though my girlfriend was too cold (which actually turned out to be true), which is the reason that she ultimately became my ex...

To some extent, obviously, @ThanosReXXX ... I'll pay more for things that are worth it, though! We definitely have the artificial flavour ices like those, which I liked a long time ago but I'm not sure about better versions. I'll have to check the frozen section next time, I'm sure there's plenty around by now
@BruceCM Some of the natural/biological ice cream goes out of style rapidly, though, so that's also something that they have to overcome, when fighting the bigger, less healthy brands. I remember a time not all that long ago when frozen yogurt products were all the rage, but nowadays, I can't even find a single product in any super market that I know. Not that I would want to, but just as an example of how these things seem to come and go.
Apparently, people prefer their toxic foods over stuff that's more expensive, I guess...
@WoomyNNYes I am not far from Tempe, or so I am told at least. Gonna be a while while I learn my way around. Very few landmarks and the roads are named by a madman.
We have, in one area, Ellsworth road, Ellsworth drive AND Ellsworth loop. Because Murica, I guess. Lol

@Heavyarms55 So, I see you're settling in quite nicely. If you've already found the time to get annoyed about things that are actually perfectly normal, then I think I can rest assured that you'll be alright over there.
But seriously, depending on how small a town it is, it certainly doesn't sound strange to me, much less like a madman's scheme: in my direct neighborhood, I have several similar examples of streets, squares, canals, alleyways and so on, all sharing the same name, so it sounds pretty normal to me.
@Blooper987 Huh. You’d think it’d be something big. The first Nontendo Direct (P.S. The video and channel has been pulled from YouTube.) announcement was Super Mario Galaxy Collection.
Heigh Ho Heigh Ho. It’s off to work (from home) I go.
@Heavyarms55 Oh yeah.... no more 10 Mile, or 5 Mile Road type names
@ThanosReXXX Superman ice cream colors look wild, but it doesnt taste wild. It tastes like vanilla and two mild, but good fruit flavors. Not tangly like an orange cream sicle. More like rivaling vanilla flavors? And since "superman" is trademarked, most ice cream companies can't use the name, so they get creative, like "Scooperman"
@WoomyNNYes Oh, don't get me wrong: I was never debating it actually tasting good, lots of artificial stuff actually does, but that doesn't take anything away from it not really being conducive or beneficial to one's health, which was actually my point. And whenever or wherever I can get natural products, I will. Nowadays, there's very little reason for there not to be a more healthy alternative. And freshly made ice cream with natural ingredients often tastes just as good, if not better, so I'll gladly pay a bit more for it.
On a side note: that trademark/naming problem seems to have been solved for at least two companies, then. Seeing as I've posted two examples and both call it Superman ice cream, so apparently, they're allowed to do so.
