@Ninfan Hmmm I mean there are plenty of Japanese YouTubers around who talk about computer stuff but for regular TV I don't know. I do technically have cable but I never even plugged it in. It's just part of my internet package. Their package deal was actually cheaper than only internet. (Because logic?)
@Heavyarms55 you just leave stuff like that lying in the corner. My God Japan sounds great
@Ninfan Well my preference for the internet is kinda more of a personal choice thing, rather than a Japan thing. I stopped watching regular TV years before I moved to Japan. Though I'm hardly alone in it. Japan or elsewhere.
But yes, Japan is awesome for a lot of reasons. Public transit makes owning a car entirely optional. Japan is much more open to gaming and anime and other hobbies that are shunned in the US. Or at least considered abnormal or undesirable. Japan is one of the absolute safest countries in the world to live in, often ranking in the top ten. Japan is also an extremely technologically advanced country, with high speed internet and modern infrastructure even in areas considered extremely rural. I live in an area so rural that when I visited Tokyo and was talking to someone I had to explain where it was - they hadn't heard of it and yet I have a fiber-optic internet connection and never have connection issues with my phone! (Well once, but I think that was some kind of accident with the tower.) And with a few exceptions, Japan is an extremely clean country. With most pollution issues being air pollution blowing over from China.
But like any country Japan has its faults too. Japan has issues with overworking people, especially with regards to office workers and home room school teachers(Thankfully I am neither). The one area Japan does have criminal issues is sexual abuse which is disproportionately higher relative to other issues. (though no where near the level it is in many other worse off countries) And the cost of raising children in Japan is astronomical - meaning few families have more than one or two and contributing greatly to the declining and aging population. That aging population problem is furthered be the popularity of marriage and having children in general at very low levels. Many people just aren't interested, or don't have the time due to over work. Others decide not to because of costs.
@Octane Same eyes, they just received a next-gen upgrade. XD
There are still some bright light halos and a slight fuzz to my vision, but these side effects are temporary and are supposed to fade after a month or two. Even with those, I can still see much, much better unaided than I've been able to for almost fifteen years.

@NintendoByNature Thanks! They're receiving stability updates four times a day (two different eye drops for each eye) along with the occasional patch (normal eye drops) to keep the new circuits from drying out.
My first major update (day 1 post-op exam) went well too. I go back on Friday afternoon and will schedule another appointment for next week then.
The only thing I gotta do is resist scratching or rubbing my eyes. 😬

@Heavyarms55 I'd love to visit Japan one of these days. I had a friend from college who went there, too. It's a really long way from here, but I bet it's worth it!
@bimmy-lee Yeah, kinda. At my age, these kinds of matches really aren't good for my heart. It was grueling. Wonderful goal, and well-deserved for the player who made it, because she's been working really hard, and playing real good during the entire tournament, but that first half, and large parts of the second half were not good. Too many mistakes and missed shots. So, I wouldn't say they did a fantastic job at all, @DenDen. They were just lucky and they're fighters, so as a team, they dragged this victory away from the gates of hell, but the football itself really wasn't that good.
If they play like this against the USA, then they're going to lose with big numbers.
Either way, I'm getting my dream finale, @bimmy-lee, so whoever wins now, is fine by me...
@Tyranexx Good to hear the surgery went well. Did you get your eyes lasered or something? The same surgery is offered here as well, and I have been thinking about it, but my contact lenses are relatively moderate in strength (-2.50 in both eyes), so I don't feel like I'm already near-sighted enough to have this done.
As for those limits you mentioned: did you mean eating limits, or something else?
@Ninfan Well, as you could see from the links I gave you, Ginx TV itself hasn't stopped, they've just changed into an eSports channel now, more than likely because it makes them more money. But there's still the news items and the first hour segment that I mentioned earlier. I'm not familiar with the other channel you mentioned. Ginx is the only one we used to get over here, and we had some local video game programs as well, but other than that, there wasn't anything else to watch.
@Morpheel Well, still sounds better than a certain area in Italy: the volcano Stromboli erupted, lots of people needed to be evacuated immediately, and the first victim has already fallen.
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
@Morpheel
Hopefully it doesn’t!
Still, it wouldn’t be a bad time to check over your emergency kit if you have one. Better to be prepared in case of anything.
Well, our house is well made, due to the hurricanes that happen every year, and we've never really had any significant earthquake happen here. That I know of...
So we should be fine I think, still, I don't think it would continue traveling south like that, right?... Right?
@NintendoByNature the California south of the California south of the California with Disneyland.
@ThanosReXXX I see the planet is having fun today.
