@ReaderRagfish Its a reference to E3 2017 where Sony's Jim Ryan gave an initial reply to Eurogamer that their stance was about safeguarding PSN users from outside influences.

Now Streaming: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
@CanisWolfred I'm pretty sure @Yosheel and @ReaderRagfish were being thorns. Because they secretly want my babies so they have to pretend to be mean to me.
But you're right, there's alot. I have to keep explaining to one of my county clerks the difference between 303-SSI, 601-QMB, and 602-SLMB when it involves Medicare as primary.

@Knuckles-Fajita Safeguarding PSN users from outside sources is something Sony has had issues with in the past, but I don't think cross play would really help in that aspect. So yeah, I guess they kinda did walk right into it.

If there was a GameCube Mini, would be this a nice line up of built in games?
Super Mario Sunshine
Zelda: Wind Waker
Metroid Prime
Metroid Prime Echoes
Pikmin
Pikmin 2
Paper Mario: TTYD
Kirby Air Ride
F-Zero GX
Luigi's Mansion
Or is there some important game I'm missing?
This blue eye perceives all things conjoined. The past, the future, and the present. Everything flows and all is connected. This eye is not merely seen reality. It is touching the truth. Open the eye of truth... There is nothing to fear.
If you want to include that few games, you might as well skip sequels and give the system better variety.
For example right there you could add one Resident Evil and one more RPG (pokemon, fire emblem, final fantasy) if you got rid of a Pikmin and a Metroid. Or Maybe a sports game instead, Mario has you covered there.
I think if they were to release a game cube mini, it would have at least 15-20 games though.
Add to that list:
Star Fox Assault
Mario Kart Double Dash
Smash Bros Melee
Fire Emblem Path of Radiance
Maybe Viewtiful Joe since Capcom hasn't done anything lately with that franchise. They've re-release all their other games from that time on practically every console but not Viewtiful Joe.
These pretzels are making me thirsty

@Yosheel I wouldn't hold my breath for that many games, provided that there is even going to be a GameCube Mini.
But let's first wait and see if we're going to get an N64 version of it, and how many games are going to be on there. Maybe we can extrapolate from that, knowing that we've already gone from 30 to 21 on the previous Minis, so it's more or less to be expected (or at least not completely unexpected) that the list of games on a possible N64 is going to be proportionally smaller, so we would either end up with 10 to 15 titles max.
If that ends up being true, then you can very well expect the list of games for any subsequent Mini to be even smaller.
Besides all that, even the smallest size GameCube image, when scrubbed, is still 156.4 MB, so even putting more than 10 games on there of that size, would still require a pretty hefty amount of flash storage, which would potentially make the unit pretty damn pricey.
And that smallest image is from Disney's Hide and Sneak, a rather average game, so that's probably not going to be on there. There should be at least Mario Kart and another Mario game on there, plus of course a couple of the other high ranking titles, such as Smash Bros, a Pokémon game, F-Zero, Wave Race, Luigi's Mansion, a Zelda game, and so on.
And all of those games are easily between 1GB - 1.35GB each, so getting that many games on there,
is more than likely not going to happen, unless people are willing to pay $400 for it...
Most people won't pay more than 100 dollars for ten~ old games from a relatively unsuccessful console that won't look good on modern TVs anyway.
After all, old pixel art is easier to appreciate than old polygons and low res textures.
Their best choice would be selling each game separately on a bigger console like the switch. Since the same people willing to buy the potential mini will be more than happy to pay 10-15 dollars for each game on it's own.
@Yosheel Don't look good on modern TV's? Only to people that are either expecting too much, or who are simply too whiny, no offense. To this day, I play GameCube games on my HD plasma screen, by means of high quality, gold-plated component cables, and they look just fine to me. And once you're well and truly in the game, you're far too busy trying to be good at it, or trying to do what you're supposed to do, to notice the non-HD graphics...
But I agree that a GameCube Mini probably isn't viable. And personally, I wouldn't even be surprised, if the line of Minis stops after the N64, because that is the last one with still relatively modest game sizes, handhelds not included. But I don't think there's going to be any handheld Minis, regardless of how much some people would like them to become a reality...
@ReaderRagfish That's logical, seeing as the Wii is more powerful, and has a better/more powerful graphics processing chip, but composite isn't doing either of these consoles any good. Get some good component cables, trust me, you'll be damned surprised. Even if you don't go for gold-plated like this crazy old Titan did, then you should still be able to get a couple of decent ones for your Wii for around $15 - $20.

On second thought, if I theoretically had a choice between a GameCube Mini (including Eternal Darkness) or a finished Robotech: Crystal Dreams.... I'd sell everyone out in a heartbeat to get Robotech. Don't think of it as overvaluing Robotech, think of it as undervaluing all of you.

@ReaderRagfish Well what are you waiting for, man?? Go get that 2nd mortgage and experience the splendor of a multi-color spectrum feed!! I does make a pretty awesome difference, though.
I'm about the shut everything down and escape my office before it consumes me like a Metroid. I should have left 20 minutes ago, but I swear this desk phone is sentient. Any of ya'll gonna jump into Fortnite over the next few hours? I've gotta Anti-Matter's FC when I get on, anyway.

I'm currently trying something with pinto beans, veggies, and some spices/seasonings for supper. Let's hope that my kitchen doesn't explode.

What have you lot been smoking to think that putting 20 Gamecube games on a mini would be unviable. 128gb of flash is only going to cost £30 or so at most. Could see that retailing at £99 with one controller easy.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

30 more minutes, then I'm finally free for the weekend....
@HobbitGamer: I'm so glad that I have to deal with very few customers these days (we have support people for that). I do have to email one occasionally though. I find text way less awkward than talking on the phone.
