Topic: Stuck in the crater in FF 7

Has anyone else gotten stuck in the crater area in FF7? I put the save crystal after taking the right path when group splits. After climbing down this pillar I put the save crystal but couldn’t climb back up afterwards. Is there any way to get up from that point to backtrack out of the crater?

Are you at the end of the game? That could be past the point of no return I think. It's been awhile so I can't remember.

@Don out of curiosity i googled it:

"The point of no return is within the Northern Cave right above the Planet's Core. The exact spot is the room where the party regroups after splitting up. The room of the Northern Cave where the party first splits up can also become a point of no return due to the Save Crystal glitch."

Thanks. I’ll just start a new file and create extra files outside the crater in case it happens again. I can’t believe how the internet makes a big deal about the map music loop glitch and Square patched it but they didn’t bother patching the crater glitch. I wonder if Square would make a patch for this glitch if I contact them about it.
