Topic: Retro game prices

So many retro games especially in complete condition got really expensive these days. Do you guys think at some point the prices will come down or will they just keep increasing or hold steady where they are now?

Depends if the games are likely to get re-released digitally. If a game is good, and is unlikely to be re-released, chances are the value will stay the same or higher.

@Wargoose From watching games closely (because i am still looking for specific ones) Digital Re-Releases do barely anything to the Physical First release of a game, even if they get released Physically they barely do anything do reduce the Price of the Original.

Examples would be Wild Guns ( i know the re-release was not a remaster but a remake with more content but kept everything else the same ) but the remake for PS4 / Switch did nothing for the OGs Price. (Maybe because the Game got only a Physical Release in NA but even with a Global Phys release it would have been the same)

Chrono Trigger still goes for a lot of Money and it increases every few Months, the Re-Release on DS if i remember back then did only a little to the Originals Price and still even thou the DS Remake has more Content, the Original Fetches around 800-1200 depending on Condition while the DS Remake only goes up to 200 Sealed. (More if its the First Print Release with the Poster)

The ONLY thing that i think would make an Older Game go down in Price would be if they find an old Stock somewhere like with the Lufia Big Box Release which was very recent ( The EU one ) that did make a dent into sales right now.
It usually goes away for around 100~150 depending on Condition, and i see more and more pop up which are in Good Condition, but they don't sell anymore, even the ones in Near Mint.

But that does only count for Physical Releases of course, and the Region the Stock was found in, everywhere else it wouldn't change.

( I Wrote Wild ARMs at first instead of Wild GUNS, listening to the Wild ARMs Soundtracks sure did hurt my brain right now lol )

Lucky for me since I live in Indonesia, we have Tokopedia (kind of Ebay but in Indonesia) and I can find some retro games with very cheap prices.
