As for Happy Meal toys, that's actually how I got into Yu-Gi-Oh! when I was younger. I remember they were giving out either one card (or a set of 3) with each Happy Meal, and that's how I got my start there.
I also got a Super Sayain Goku from Burger King, that fires off a projectile ki blast, but my older brother colored it completely black with a Sharpie years ago (he was always doing things like that. He drew a beard & mustache on one of my Meowth Pokémon cards as well...).

I really love legos, my parents never got me too many of them. Guess I was too careless.
I did have one of the original bionicles and it was pretty awesome, it was my favorite toy for a while until during a vacation my dad needed a box to store something last minute. He used the [already stored and safe in a bag] plastic container of the toy and left the bionicle outside. Never saw it again.

Man, did anyone have Biker Mice from Mars? Street Sharks? Monsters in my Pocket?
They were freaking awesome. All the action figures these days are based off a movie or something. There is very little random ones about.
About 5-6 years back there was a really cool Knights series with an evil skeleton army. I bought one set and haven't been able to stop collecting since.
Probably have about AU$10 000 worth (on top of what I had as a child)
No regrets. Never. I've even managed to find some vintage stuff from garage sales (got 7kg for $50 @#%%#ing score!)

The only thing about Street Sharks I remember seeing is a mock advertisement on Robot Chicken, where they were desperately trying to say that they weren't a Ninja Turtles knock off, lol.

Hm... I really fondly remembers plastic toys that we got from bubblegums (they are in a plastic, then we easily assembled them :3)
EDIT: just get told that the bubblegum's merk is 'LOTTE'
And they are mostly become into dinosaur/animal shape... I do wonder what's their name >:
And I'm surprised nobody mention Digimon/Pokemon/Hamtaro really small figurines... They are also my favourite, doing lots of adventures when the time is right. :3

Not sure about lotte bubblegum, but sure do love Kinder Surprises even to this day, and even though the quality of they toys has gone downhill.
The giant ones they make for christmas are amazing,
Here in mexico we also had another similar brand of chocolates but instead of an egg they game with a big tablet shaped like a bear and the toy was usually more technical and required slightly more advanced assembling that kinder's. I loved them, I remember I once got a little submarine in one... And it worked!
