Topic: Remembering toys

I knew there was a reason the WiiU seemed so familiar, I had a similar toy back in the 90's! I'm trying to remember it but I have no idea of how it was called or how to search for it, could someone help me identify it?

From what I remember the toy itself was like a white huge drawing tablet that connected to the TV. From there, the things I remember get blurry but I do recall being able to draw, seeing point-and-click adventure-like scenes and playing tangram with it, it was the raddest thing my younger self had ever seen and it was certainly my favorite thing back then.

Then things get pitch black and I can't remember it's name, more details or even what happened to it. Any ideas of what might it be?

Feel free to talk about the toys you had yourself when you were younger! One is never too old to remember the toys that entertrained you. Besides, with that season so close, it seems appropiate.

I really need to look through my old toys. I remember that I acted like a group of my toys were powerful heroes (the leader having some Super Sayain like transformations, in my mind), and they battled another group of my toys that were the villains.

They'd team up every Christmas though, to do battle with the ultra powerful Christmas decorations (which were evil for some reason, lol). The angel on top of the tree was really a fake, or something along those lines.

I gave away nearly every toy I had when I was little.
Now I collect weird art toys.

And now even those have come to a hault as I'm now interested in collecting video game toys like Disney Infinity

And Skylanders are looking pretty cool too nowadays, so I'm interested in collecting those too.

I was one of those dino-crazy boys when I was little, and as such I remember having a bunch of dinosaur toys and pretending I was narrating a documentary about them (loved watching those as a kid, but just make fun of them now), like I'd have a group of them out on the floor and have a T.rex hiding behind a table or something before having it attack.

Oooohhh! I loved the animal transformers!

Way more than the cars one, the animals one really captivated me as a kid. Even the now-painfully-looking 3D cartoon was the best thing ever.

I still remember one of my cousins had a huge dragon transformer and a huge collection and all I had was a pterodactyl :[

At least the Pterodactyl was awesome...in the show.

I never saw these mcdonalds toys (or these characters at all!) but I really loved the mini game boy colors they gave out during the Pokemon Gold&Silver era!

Ohh and the Sonic mini games, these were pretty awesome.

Which one did you have? The transmetal one?

I don't really remember, but I think mine was mostly orange. I think.

They came out during the late 80's and might possibly of been reissued(or whatever) for the early 90's!

My big brother dominated the TV back then in the early 90's so I never really watched anything that wasn't related to the Care Bears or My Little Pony!

Then again, I was just a toddler then, so maybe I just don't remember them.

@CountWavula: I have a complete set of those Fraggle Rock Happy Meal toys. During the 80s and 90s my mom worked at McDonalds part time so I got pretty much every Happy Meal toy they had.

Anyway, my childhood toys consisted of He-man, Thundercats and later on TMNT figures, and Legos. I never owned any Transformers or GI Joes but my friends did so we would swap toys for a day or so, he would loan me Optimus Prime while I would lend him Man-at-arms. However once Nintendo hit I stopped with the actiton figures and became the gamer I am today.

Then you had the Basic Terrorsaur...which should've been easy to transform as I recall. It was pretty simple compared to other ones. It was just a flip-changer after all, though I guess the spring could make it annoying to change back into beast mode. Then again, I recall being unusually good at figuring transformers out, so...

I was never exactly good at transforming them... Which probably explains why I never got more of them!

But... I remembered another one of my favorite toys of all time!

The portable Neopet!

It was everything I ever wanted: an offline neopet, A pretty awesome virtual pet, a physical toy to play with, a small adventure island and I could even hide money behind the island!

The day I lost the little Kougra figurine was the saddest day of my life.... I wonder if I could buy one new now!

What the hell. I just searched for one on amazon. I could't find this specific version (sad kougra). (Used for 40 dollars? No thanks).

BUT! I found another one with other pet for it's original price!

It's decidedly the ugliest of them all (Grundo) but hey, beggars can't be choosers (someone is actually selling one of the other models for over $1000, crazy).

I couldn't resist.... Hopefully it's the real deal. I won't be seeing it until christmas though (it's shipping to my uncles house in arizona).
