In my mind I see that timeslot being filled with something of actual cultural value, and those... people... that watched this show would discover a passion for worthwhile TV.
And then I realise the reality is that the show will be replaced by something that scrapes an even deeper bottom of the barrel, and the positive becomes a negative.
If you can get lower than Jersey Shore and still get it to air on TV, then kudos.
At the very least this show's cancellation shows that this kind of program can't last long.
Then again, it's MTV.

You're probably right. They'll just replace it with another Swamp People or Repo Man or something else equally mind numbing.
The adventures of some strange orange members of a sub-human race, few of whom were actually from New Jersey, and the story of how they were zapped by gamma rays and gained the superpower to become rich and famous without actually doing anything.
Finally! I keep telling my friends that its scripted but they all say thats not true. Anyway I glad its done because the show was a terrible way to influence teenagers and the jokes about Pauly and him being Italian and me being Italian can finally be put to rest.

i never watched an episode of JS, or any other 'reality tv', but unfortunately those types of shows tend to permeate the web, magazines, and other parts of our culture.
and yeah: i get 'butthurt' when this sort of thing is put out as representative of my country. we already have enough against us with birthers, that new museum in kentucky stating that the world is 6,000 yrs old, shootings every damn day...i am sick of being painted with the same brush as some really ugly americans.

Also the sad part is each of these individuals already have their own show or they're getting one.
