Overrated: Mega Man 3, LOZ: Wind Waker, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Resident Evil: Revelations, Luigi's Mansion II: Dark Moon
Is Zombies ate my neighbors held in high regard?? I absolutely love that game, and is the only Wii shop game I own in fact. Not arguing since it is your opinion, but I never knew it was held in high regard.
You want underrated? How many people have heard of the PSone game "Threads of Fate?" Now THAT is a VERY underrated classic!!

Yes, the game starts out a little slow, but after the third area (Mel's Atelier), it picks up very nicely! BTW, I recommend playing as the girl (Mint) first, as she has a much more humorous storyline.

Will give it a try next time I'm at the lake house. Although it may take time away from my eternal "finish Arc the Lad" quest.
Overrated: Sonic Adventure 2, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Pokemon X, Paper Mario Sticker Star, Mario Kart 7, NES Mega Man games, Sonic Heroes, Super Mario Bros. 3
Underrated: Wario Ware D.I.Y (does anyone even have this game?), Super Mario 3D World, Luigi's Mansion 2: Dark Moon
@Terminian-Hero I used to own Threads of Fate. It was a great game, beat it with both characters within a couple weeks of buying it. I really wish I still had it.. along with all the other great PS1 games I had..
Anyways, I'll just name a couple under-rated games:
Bomberman 64
Legend of Mana
Digimon World
Wonderful 101.
Underrated: The Dark Spire - anyone looking for a great Wizardry clone need not look any further.
Overrated: Kirby 64 - Even as far as Kirby goes, I've played much better. It's gimmick isn't that useful, some of the Crystals are unfairly placed, and the level design is pretty weak most of the time. Only pluses are that the last 3 bosses are surprisingly thought out and challenging.
Underrated?
Super Mario Sunshine- It's actually better than Super Mario 64 in terms of controls and mission objectives being clearer imo.
Twilight Princess- While the game is no where near as magic as the first trailer, its still a fantastic game.
Super Paper Mario- Just cause its different, does not mean its bad m'kay.

OoT is over rated imo, its not bad, just not best gaem evar 10/10. Like Final Fantasy 7.
I love these forums because i find great games to try out i would have never remembered! For me off top of my head:
Underrated: Crystalis, Killer 7, Contra 4, Lost Odyssey
Overrated: New Super Mario games, majoras mask (i refuse to praise any zelda as best with only 4 dungeons, but i do like it).

The Megaman Battle Network series is underrated... I think, don't quote me on this.

I can't believe the world forgot about Contra 4 and Killer 7...I remember when the latter was the "original" artsy game, proof that a game doesn't need gameplay to be "fun" so long as it works with the story, which in this case was incredibly experimental. Obviously your milage may vary, but it used to be a game everyone had to at least try.
And I just got Crystalis, though I've played it before. Definitely a good game as far as early action-RPGs are concerned.
The Lost Odyssey I need to replay. I remember it had a really boring battle system, though, not to mention terrible pacing. But everyone else seems to really dig it. I never did get too far before, so maybe it'll get better?

I respectfully disagree on some of these. For one, most people I know seem to hate Sticker Star and Sonic Heroes a lot. As for the other games, with the exception of the NES Mega Man games, Super Mario 3, and Sonic Adventure 2 aren't necessarily over or under rated; they're just good games that people talk about, since a good chunk of them are relatively new.
