I am sorry Waltz but One Piece is a shonen series. (Shonen - refers to manga marketed to a male audience roughly between the ages of 10 and 18) There are adult only Manga, but that is because in Japan it's something everyone reads. They can have different target audiences. Just how there are Adult Only movies, and Children movies as well. Though One Piece, is aimed at children. Doesn't mean you can't enjoy it though.
Oddly though this Anime I liked Chobits is Seinen, which I found odd. It's aimed at 18-30 year olds.I thought it was Shojo which is the female version of Shonen (stuff that is more like Cardcaptor Sakura). However Chobits is usually more family safe then other Shonen I have seen, such as One Piece. I think the mean reason is, Manga intended for older people usually have a bigger emphasis on realism. So it's not really the blood and swears that make something intended for an older audience.
However I don't really like Anime that much in general (like new stuff). Chobits, Dragonball, Yuyu Hakusho and Ranma 1/2 is usually what I liked but One Piece is cool too. Just too damn long for me to keep up now. Ok time for me to exit.
When does Ace die? I read that in the OP Wiki, and it didn't make it clear if that was just in the Manga or in the anime as well. I'm not even sure if it happened in the recent episodes either. Still if it has happened, I'd like to know roughly what episode so I can watch it.
I think you're a couple of episodes ahead of me Mickeymac because I don't know of an Ace just yet but as soon as I catch up to what your talking about I'll let you know. I'll also check the manga entries if we stop by the local book store tomorrow.

SPOILERS ALERT @Mickeymac:Ace dies in episode 483 of the anime, it's currently the saddest moment in One Piece. @TokyoRed:If you mean that One Piece has a timeskip like Naruto, then yes.

YOSH Mickeymac! I just finished episode 94 of One Piece over on hulu.com and man that Ace and Luffy are well (I don't wanna give a spoiler) but you understand. Okay, but fancy me this please. Is Ace going to join Strawhat Pirate crew? I like his fire ability although it's a bit unusual and all. Oh, and will Captain Smoker ever cut Luffy a break though?

I stopped watching years ago on Episode...I think 93. I only started watching again recently to see Ace. Hyper Knuckles would be the better one to ask.
Episodes 96 and 97 are the BEST I've seen of One Piece so far. I really liked Ace and I can't believe he left Luffy's crew. Do they meet up again Mickeymac?

They do. After episode 100 I skipped ~400 episodes so I could see the recent episodes, though, so I don't know anything beyond that.
@TokyoRed Are you sure that you want to hear all of these spoilers? One Piece has a deep story that makes you think "Gosh, I didn't see that coming at all! That was amazing!" whenever they reveal something big. Reading all of these spoilers has already ruined half of those moments for you, and they don't come that often. Watching what happens is ten times better than looking at spoilers, but who am I to stop you?

Thanks Robogose. I appreciate that. Anyway, you're right. The show really does make the viewer think and it also has a lot of humor, heart, soul and moral to the storyline. The show is 80% more meaningful than Naruto or Bleach. Naruto is a bit more action oriented but One Piece, Voltron, Speed Racer and Mobile Suit Gundam have a definite message and I really appreciate that about them and that is also one I enjoy watching them so much. I'm about to watch One Piece S2 Episode 104 right now.
BTW One Piece Season 2 has the musical opening (Wonderland)!
