Batman didn't have any time to dodge his batarang, and takes the explosion directly to the back of his suit. Batman's suit takes most of the damage, but the force propelled him directly in to another warp ring, set up to have Batman fall from 10 feet above the ground.
As Batman falls down, Finitevus uppercuts Batman hard enough to crack his jaw.
Morpheus turned to face his friend, who's still lacing her corset.
Capricorn: What do you suggest we do?
Morpheus: Fable!
Fable, who had been awake for awhile, rushed over to the group.
Fable: Ready, Morpheus?
Morpheus: Ready!
Capricorn: What's happening?
Morpheus: Oh yeah, let me use my Astral Power of Projection to fill you in.
The captain placed his head on Capricorn's and whispered inaudible words into her mind.
Capricorn: Wow... The Trinity of Time...
Morpheus: We're three now. Ready?
Capricorn: Ready.
The three stood side by side in a line.
All: Calling on the voices ruling time and space! Fable, Morpheus, Capricorn: we form a pact with life itself! Forging a brand new bond through eternity with our blood: we are a Trinity of Time!
Surrounded by a mysterious aura, the three looked at each other in approval. Fable opened his grimoire and tore a crack in the void of space.
Finitevus warps Batman and himself back to the campsite.
Batman fires his grappling gun at Finitevus' arm. Batman managed to grab one on five rings Finitevus carries on each limb. Batman yanks back on the ring, knocking the 5 off of his arm.
Using another Grappling gun, he pulls himself into the shadows, only to enter into one of Finitevus' warp rings(not one of the 5 he took.) Batman lands on Mallow, and Geno.
From out of nowhere emerges a crack in the fabric of space. Emerging from the fissure is a blood-soaked Morpheus, a harpoon wielding Capricorn, and Fable surrounded in flames.
Morpheus: These Gates are so stupid! I swear, if we have to kill another messy beast like that kraken...
Finitevus walks over to Batman, grabs the warp rings out of his Grappling Hook.
Finitevus: You wanted to go for a ride Bats, here you go!
Restraining Batman with Chaos Energy, Finitevus then warps Batman through 3 of the rings. Batman disappeared through the ground, then 100 feet above the ground, building up speed with the second ring. The 3rd opened up in front of Mario, and Batman plowed into him feet first.
Dr. Finitevus: I'll see you later losers
Dr. Finitevus releases Batman, then starts to walk towards walks through the 4th ring..
Still on the ground, and in a lot of pain Batman throws a Batarang at Finitevus' hand with all of his remaining strength.
Dr. Finitevus walks into the ring just as the Batarang hits his hand. The last of the 5 rings Batman took lands outside of the portal as it closes.
The group finds themselves in a dark field surrounded by fog, where a single lifeless tree stood idle in the chilling wind with a noose tied to its branch.
Dr. Finitevus throws warp rings at Capricorn's Guns. The rings open, and close, right on the guns, cutting them in half.
Dr. Finitevus: Don't you see, you are all pawns in this game.
4th: BTW I still have the Chaos Energy field activated, so your attacks won't hurt me as much. Only way I can see to "evenly" balance the playing field, if it can even be called evening. You still have the odds in your favor.
Dr. Finitevus realizes he can't beat the "god like" trio, and the zombies, so he does the rational thing, calls on his "partner" for evacuation. A streak of Blue and Red appear, then disappear in a second. Finitevus is no where to be found.
Minnie poked her head out from some rocks she found to hide herself. She hated to admit it, but she froze when she saw Finitevus. All of that training from Fable, all of the mental preparation gone within the second she saw him. She looked around and couldn't seem to find Finitevus. Barely able to form a complete sentence after the intense fear of seeing the Echidna again, Minnie managed to mumble the question out.
Minnie: I-Is h-he g-g-gone?
