@Eel Me too, it’s so funny and amazing! I haven’t played it in a while though, and I am a bit stuck with progression in it. I love the piñata designs a lot. They were so fun to draw.

@Bunkerneath Thank you. I’m just very hard on myself when I draw because it’s been a long time since I made a finished artwork, and I always want my pictures to look good thanks to my perfectionism and the artwork I see on social media garnering so much likes and attention, but it puts a lot of pressure on me and I immediately stop drawing if the artwork looks bad and not “social media worthy” in my eyes, but I have become super obsessed with getting followers online but I’ve never been able to thanks to the algorithm favoring videos and not photos. Even when I put a mix of popular and niche tags (which is recommended for getting noticed) my posts only get around 5 likes….
The social media algorithm isn’t kind to artists, and usually artwork that is satire and intentionally bad looking steals attention away from people that put a lot of effort into their art. Sometimes art is super hard and is a bit annoying with stuff like that.
I sort of regret downloading social media because it’s made me act that way towards art (plus the fact that some content with no effort gets attention is discouraging) but I don’t have any other ways to post on here, and I don’t know how other social media sites would treat my artwork in the algorithm.
@Pastellioli Yes, do not worry about that! The algorithm is just terrible. I see many great works and dedicated creators get minimal recognition for their efforts.
Also, I see many use some kind of repeated buzzwords to boost their views. At first, I was interested in "I made this, but it is realistic" now I cringe when I see it because I know those people do it for views.
The only honest way for me is to keep going and slowly build a following that you can rely on as the algorithm is not your friend.
@Zuljaras I did get a few followers surprisingly and some people have actually come across my works and liked them. I am pretty happy with that, even if it’s small. Yesterday someone came across my recent drawing and then liked a lot of my old posts! I have come across some encouraging videos on Instagram that are supposed to help people worry less about their art not getting a lot of likes, like “it’s ok to get 20 likes, that’s about 20 people congratulating and applauding you for your artwork” and I like the people that do that, it makes me feel better.

I have a real soft spot for @Pastellioli and his amazing drawings, with Conker full of intensity and character. Your Viva Piñata drawing is absolutely wonderful. 😍
@Banjo- Thank you a lot! I want to draw more Rare characters soon…I like how the colors turned out on my recent drawing but it was time consuming. I used a lot of ballpoint and gel pens for it.
@Banjo- I really hope Banjo looks good in my art style! I have bigger paper now, so maybe I could include Kazooie in too. I’ve always wanted to draw them but I get afraid they won’t look good when I draw them lol. I think I’ll have a bit of stylization with my drawing like that sunflower teddy bear drawing and that one Conker drawing I shared on here.
The Squazzil is probably my favorite one in that drawing. I messed up with coloring the hazelnut it’s holding at first, but I fixed it. I tried to color the hazelnut with colored pencils first, then used a black pen, but then realized the pen smudged on the wax of the pen, so I erased it and colored the hazelnut with a marker color called “hazelnuts,” which was absolutely intentional lol. I also love the way I made the Doenut look, mostly with the neon colored fur. Those were both my favorite.
I have to say it’s pretty interesting to see your interpretation of the piñatas with fur instead of paper tabs, and I enjoy the fish eye-like proportions you use in some of your drawings. That with the bright colors reminds me of carnival games.
@Eel Yeah, I did want to practice a bit of fur with the drawing. I was looking forward to doing it. The paper tabs I think would have looked awful if I tried drawing it in pen, and way more time consuming. Hopefully the fur is close to the originals!
And thank you! I really like using sort of weird proportions in my drawings, specifically the oil pastel ones as a sort of stylization and making the characters look unique. The stylization on the teddy bear drawing is maybe my favorite. I have way more old artwork I haven’t yet shared, but I’ll do that later.
I really love using lots of color in my art. There’s two artists I follow online that love using colors a lot. One of them draws in oil pastel and he manages to have his colors look natural while using lots of colors, and the other draws in pen and uses a lot of fluorescent and neon colors in his art. They are big inspirations to me right now. The bright colors fit well, especially for the piñatas since the art style of Viva Piñata is focused on having the animals looking silly and colorful.
@Pastellioli I see now what you mean about the colours. Doenut and Squazzil look best, although Bunnycomb is also great. Fudgehog doesn't look impressive in comparison. I would say that how you mixed the colours, the eyes and how you worked on the outlines are the highlights of these drawings. I don't exaggerate when I say that is one of the drawings I have ever seen that I like the most.
@Banjo- I’m not super proud of the Fudgehog at all too. It’s super boring in comparison and was the hardest to do. I tried to give it pink colored eyes but it looked like it caught pink eye, so I freaked out and tried to cover it with yellow. I messed up on that one way more than the others. I was thinking of drawing a Pretztail, but I had such a hard time getting it to fit the page. I drew a Fudgehog instead solely because I needed to draw something smaller to fit an empty part of the page.

Took me way too long. I drew some of the animals from Viva Piñata with a new art style and it was so fun but the photo cropping was awful on the Doenut. I kinda hate the way the Fudgehog looks but oh well. I guess with any drawing you always need one part that looks like garbage…
Hey there man. I’m sorry I didn’t see your art till now. This is my first time seeing it. I kept missing it but now I finally spotted it. It looks great man, I dunno why you put yourself down. This art is genuinely beautiful and I really look forward to more of your drawings. I’m glad I finally found your art. I dunno why it took this long to spot it. Maybe I’m blind I dunno. Anyways, I have nothing further to add. I hope you draw more since I like these interpretations. Now I’m curious what your jojo art looked like.
@Yousef- Thank you! I sadly don’t have the JoJo art anymore because I lost it, but it wasn’t impressive or anything, I probably will draw a few characters from it now very soon. I have a lot of stuff I want to draw right now.
