@Eel I love the bright colors and the design of the character. I love anthropomorphic animals, and I am a huge fan of artwork that is colorful and bright! Good job.

@Pastellioli thank you! I have to admit I it’s mainly that colorful because I have a somewhat limited selection of these markers. But I do really enjoy using the neon ones anyway.
@Eel using a limited selection of markers and art supplies is definitely is fun and can have some interesting results with the color palettes. Reminds me of that drawing I showed here where I tried to use a limited selection of oil pastels with a specific color palette. I think having a large collection of art materials can be a bit overwhelming with how much you have. Usually when I draw with markers or oil pastels, I pick a buttload of colors and I don’t use half of them for the art lol.
I do love neon colors a lot. I do have a couple ones, specifically a few fluorescent alcohol markers, highlighters, Gelly Roll gel pens and neon oil pastels from Crayola. The oil pastels are nice and bright, but they are drier than the ordinary Crayola oil pastels I have. I’ve been wanting to use the gel pens but I haven’t made any art that could work with it.
I got a cheap set of paint markers (among many other things!) at a Five Below while I was vacationing in California earlier in the month, and did some doodles with them.
It seems my mind is anticipating Halloween because that’s kind of the vibe I get from them. But like, Summer Halloween.
@Eel Ooh, like the colors. I have gone to Five Below and gotten nice art materials from there. The art supplies I got from there are pretty good, though it’s only really alcohol markers and a big sketchbook that I’ve been having a hard time filling in cuz I suck at drawing on big paper.
@Eel The Five Below where I live also has a nice corner of art supplies, though mostly sketchbooks and a lot of dry art materials like pencils.
The marker sets I got were supposed to be manga-themed sets and came with a few drawing pens, and the markers came with a pretty nice quality brush tip too. Alcohol markers with brush tips are very popular, and I do have a few sets from other brands, but they usually increase the price of the marker since brush tips are very well-liked and versatile, so getting a few markers with brush tips for just $5 is great.
I did get a smaller sketchbook from there alongside the big sketchbook, but the wires came loose when I made the stupid decision to to tear more than one page of finished artwork out at the same time, so the paper is loose now. It’s nice paper, but alcohol markers suck on that paper and it works best with dry art materials.
@Eel I did suck at using alcohol markers before, but I became a huge fan of them and got better when I learned the basics from a ton of videos I watched back in 2018, but now I don’t really use markers for my art anymore since im obsessed with oil pastels, so I have a few just sitting around for months.
Its also cuz I’m very art blocked and have been making attempts to remove that. I’m stuck between having my next artwork use just pens and a few markers or be completely done in marker, since I do want to pick those up again.

@Eel I do use cardstock and still have some, the markers I used for those worked very well, but I am going to try to use them on this sort of Chinese paper that’s supposed to be shikishi, which is a type of paper that is usually thick and surrounded by a boarder and is used for art and calligraphy, and I heard markers work well on them, so I am hoping it works well. I tried oil pastel on them and they suck so much on there.
