Well, guys, here's an excerpt from chapter 1. CHAPTER 1: MOONRISE "Nozland the Griffin and Mildor the Pegasus sat side by side, gazing at the moon from the mountain peak which their camp was set on. The moonlight shone on Nozland’s face, illuminating the scar that stretched from his right eye down to the top of his neck. Mildor’s silver horn gleamed in the night, reflecting light on the ground around them. “Pretty night,” Mildor said with a trace of happiness in his voice. “Mmh,” Nozland replied. Although he acted indifferently, Mildor could tell he was enjoying it, too. Nozland was the battle-scarred leader of the band of rebels that were like Nomads, never seeming to stop in one place in the vast land of Ozlago. As he was the tough veteran, Nozland never tried to act gleeful or amused, but he had trouble hiding it sometimes. Not to say he wasn’t kind, not at all. He just didn’t want to show it. Mildor, on the other hand, was the outwardly optimistic, sight-enjoying, stop-and-smell-the-roses type fellow, and Nozland’s right-hand man. They had met before, when Mildor was a scribe for the emperor, Xylannis the Dragon. Mildor came to Nozland for help, as he was fed up with the emperor and wanted to leave, but openly fleeing the kingdom of Ditroma meant death for a so-called “traitorous act.” Nozland, equally fed up with Xylannis, was pleased with Mildor’s wish to defy him. They set up a plan to leave the kingdom, which they did, picking up other “criminals” on the way. This didn’t go unnoticed, of course, and as a result, they were now fugitives, always migrating from one camp to the next."

nice I wanto read more but alot of big words like names
wow. i feel really unaccomplished at this moment. i've had a lot of school work to do, and a ton of definitely unneeded stress added today, so i've only nailed down 613 words. my goal is to buckle down for several hours tonight and hit 2,000 before i crash, but, for right now, i'm feeling insanely behind.

Chicken you are a crazy writer bro! My story is going a little slowly now and is starting to bore me a little so I'm gonna shake things up very soon and make the action start 4,226 words in. i have a Prologue, Chapter 1 and part of Chapter 2, it is going great Also how do I add you guys to my NaNo writing buddy list and stuff? NaNo website is uber lagging
Schweet! I have 2,003 words! (according to the Bean word count) That'll be all for the night. Prologue, 3 chapters, and 1,900 words in one day! Pretty successful, all I need is more days like this. EDIT: Nope, only 1,986 according to the NaNoWriMo counter. I guess it doesn't count chapter titles. EDIT 2: Hehe, added words to reach 2000. NOW I'm done for the night.
All right! I'm really done now, as I have to go to bed. My progress after 2 days: a prologue, 4 chapters, and 2,461 words! I'm really getting somewhere!
i'm getting writing again. if you guys would like, i can post some of what i've got so far, and i'd be interested in hearing your thoughts. it'd only be a portion of the opening, and it has little to do now with the actual meat of what i'm writing, but as the novel goes on, it should create some interesting thematic tie-ins... if all reads as i think it will, anyway.

9,762 so far, four chapters down. Barring tragedy I don't think I'll have trouble hitting the 50,000 word threshold...so my personal goal is just to bring the novel to a close within the month. That is, structurally-speaking, actually write the ending within that time. If I stick to my outline I can do that...but I've already started deviating so who knows.
Got to 1,800 last night so I'm behind but I got a lot of planning done. Hope to catch up tonight and to finish the first story arc by this weekend.

God loves you
Gah chicken brutus you crazy chicken with too much time on his hands!
11,545 at the end of Chapter Five! The NaNo site says I'm three days ahead of schedule, which isn't really much, and believe me, I'll squander that buffer before too long.
It's coming along very well! haha. I didn't expect to write so much so soon, but it's actually turning out to be a pretty good story. Already I'm sure I'll have a pretty sturdy first draft, and it can only get better from there. I'm really enjoying this...it's been so long since I've written anything new (I've spent the past few years slaving over the same finished--but not finalized--manuscript, and this is such a refreshing project.
(about) 3,100 words, 4 and a half chapters, and a prologue in the middle of day three. While behind others, I am pleased with my current progress. I hope to catch up on weekends, where there is no school or homework.
