So here it is, I was given this ring a good 10 years ago now and was told to treasure it. Clearly marked with the N64 from Nintendo 64, I would like to find out more about this ring. The ring has markings of which I can't read. I'm not sure if this ring's band is silver or platinum, however, I think we can all tell that the 64 is gold.

I wanted to know if anyone could shed some light on this ring. Have you seen one before? Can you find anything on the internet? What do you suggest? All my efforts so far to find out the origin, purpose and information about this ring has drawn a blank.

What do you think?

Is it some form of Elvish? Or the language of Mordor?

May you give us some more angles of the ring?

So I managed to get a shot of the markings on the inside. These are what I figured out so far (from left to right)

No idea what that marking is.
EXP? - Don't know what that means.
Anchor - Made in Birmingham, UK
Lion - Sterling Silver 925
No idea what that marking is.

Even with this information, why is it a N64 ring? Was it build for a purpose, commisioned for thing? I just have no idea...

sorry for double posting. I think it is one of the many merchandises of the N64 back then. Maybe for a preorder bonus as I can't see it sell it separately.

Searches of the internet turn up nothing. If Nintendo sold this as part of something or infact it were purchasable from anywhere or known about, it would have been thrown up in search results. I can find NOTHING on the matter when browsing the web.

Seeing as it has no Nintendo trademark markings on it, it's unlikely that this was any sort of official product. I'd also doubt that the "64" is actual gold (as opposed to just colored/plated), or else there would also be some sort of actual marking indicating such. Given that it's marked as Sterling 925 (meaning 92.5% silver), it's likely just some inexpensive jewelry that was crafted to sell at a budget price (i.e., to teen/college age gamers who thought it would be cool to have it).

(But this is all general speculation based on the photos and markings, without actually having it in-hand to inspect closer).

Well, the ring looks pretty old... Maybe the 64 is meant to be for 1964 and the N stands for something else.

Are you 100% sure it is meant to be about the N64?

It's pretty cool anyway... The only way to know it for sure is taking it to Pawn Stars!

I don't know anything about hallmarks but this might help:

could the last marking be the X for 1997? Wikipedia has 1996 and 1997 for the N64 release date.

If that is an X meaning 1997, the N64 was indeed released in 1997 in the EU. Coincidence?

Email Nintendo and ask if they know the origin of it.

I like how it's something that looks ancient and yet it's less than 20 years old.
