@Mega: It doesn't make fun of ponies, and that YouTube video isn't a clip of the show, just an audio clip of something else with an animation of a creepy horse short haired (did somepony eat her mane? ) version of Pinkie Pie. We watch it because a) It's funny, b) it's a feel good show, c) some of us tingle at the power of friendship (I haven't felt the same after playing Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. That game was CAKED with friendship. ), d) some people (coughsquiggletailcough) like smexy ponies.

I enjoyed the first two episode, but the rest of the bunch, not som much.
Usually, people find the first two episodes off putting. Looks like you're the rare exception. If you liked the first two, then I suggest you check out the first two episodes of season 2. They have a similar feel and structure, but the overall writing and animation is improved.
@mega Give it a chance and it may surprise you. I know I was when I first saw it. Pretty good cartoon with some moral lessons that fit, and aren't just thrown in for the sake of it.
@Morphtroid Indeed, I feel that way about a part of the fandom as well.
@Tobias95 I didn't really like the first 2 myself, but it was entertaining enough to get me to want to see more. Around the episode 7 mark things start to get interesting, and @SquiggleTails suggestion is also very good.

The Witches have now revived the SMOOZE <thunder> and right after the ponies where able to swindle a house from that Imp. Now there place is consumed by it, and they must find the flutter ponies for help. Meanwhile Spike and whateverhernamewas, are met by some ugly creatures, who look scary, but are just misunderstood, called grundles. They agree to help the pony and dragon to get back to where they want to go. All in all, chaos ensues and will they be able to stop it this time, or will Ganon's wife and the sister witches have the last laugh, find out next...

Waking up with a splitting head ache, Heron found himself atop a rather large tree, along with his companions.Noticing that they were all still unconscious, he decided to survey the area, for any possible traces of the Smooze, or its 'spawn'. Climbing down from the tree proved to be quite a challenge; he couldn't quite get a grip of any of the branches.Simply shrugging it off, a very dizzy and disoriented Heron eventually found his way to solid ground.
But, something was off.Everything seemed... bigger. As he began to walk around, he felt strange. He approached a small creek to get a drink of water and collect himself. While he was drinking water, he noticed something was off about his reflection. Then, it hit him. Panicking, he looked at his hands, which were now replaced by stumpy hooves...
