I know nothing about art, so i have no idea what kind of paper and material i (should) use(d) and such, but since you people liked it so much, i just might draw something else...but it will be Rainbow Dash again.
@Dark_TeeJay and @Squiggles - Is pourquoi the same in Spanish as in French because I could read the first word and figure out what you meant do to the use of amigo in cartoons?
...
@CorporalPegasus - Looks like pastel on canvas, are you sure that's crayon? I like it.
pourquoi doesn't exist in spanish. It seems it is "Por que" It gives me the impression of being pastels on canvas, too.
@Everypony: Thanks for your posts, i felt exactly like pinkie in Squiggle's posted video. After some medicine (and chamomile tea) i feel better now
@Tare: I agree, i don't have a tablet but two computers(A laptop and a netbook) and i use the GIMP for my drawings (Usually i use the low-end netbook to make the paths, and the high-end laptop to draw along them). What are some good tablets to use? They are pheriperals or separate computers? I ask this because if they are separate PCs (As in Tablet PC, as i know those) i would like to install a linux distro on it, preferably openSuSE but if some other supports its hardware better then i could install that one.
@Artists-to-be: In Lauren Faust's dA page, there is a drawing/animation FAQ. One of the questions reads: Look for guidance and art education wherever you can, but the biggest, most important thing of all is to draw, draw, draw and never stop drawing. Imagine you have several thousand crappy drawings you have to get out of your system before your any good and try your damnedest to get those crappy drawings out as fast as you can. Source: http://fyre-flye.deviantart.com/ Second question "I can't afford/am not able to/don't want to go to art school. Is there anything else I can do to get into animation?", second paragraph.
Don't think i'm all good at, i still don't have confidence in my original drawings (mostly because i tend to use a fixed pose in every X category drawing i make).
EDIT: Let's make a deal, as there are several people who want to get started on drawing, why don't you draw, post your results over here, let us have a look, and comment on them? I don't mean "stomp them" or "gang them" (as in "Love and tolerance", remember? I think this community is the best possible place to start because of its philosophy) If you want to start from scratch get Art Academy, it is available on retail or as two releases (First and second semesters) on DSiWare. I have the latter. It will get you started on the concepts of forms, light and shadow, and even color theory. Don't think the paint concepts are useless, if you plan to draw on computer you could use them (as GIMP haves the "layers" concept.
@CorporalPegasus - Don't be scared to experiment to find ot what works best for you.
@AlbertoC - Alright, I'm no language master. Glad to hear your feeling better.
@Everypony - I'm assuming we are still racing today so the times again are, CorporalPeagsus - 9:30pm JarvanZheitk - 8:30pm Bimmy_and_Jimmy - 9:30am AST (my time) - 4:30pm EST - 3:30pm CST - 2:30pm MST - 1:30pm PST - 12:30pm Good luck!

Here's my finished vector- Derpy B. Hooves The style isn't my all-time favorite, but it's okay for a change. Get ready for @@@@@
@ZeroX: Okat then, I'll be sure to do my best! I show you the sketch before it's vectored just to be sure everything's done correctly. Also, thanks for the compliment! Sometimes I spend a little too long in photoshop and overdo it, but I'm glad you like them! ^^
@Dark_TeeJay: The kind of picture your talking about is more than likely vectored with the pen tool in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator. The original drawing/sketch, however, is done on paper. If the original sketch was bad, the vector artist wouldn't have a good foundation upon which to base the vector shapes. A computer and/or photoshop is not what makes a good drawing. (photoshop and other applications serve only to improve the already good drawing) Like the others have said, it takes practice, determination, and creativity to improve your skills in art. Drawing is also not something you need to have been doing "your whole life" in order to be good at. (they say that people catch onto things a little faster when they're older) I started when I was 17, and I can easily see an improve since when I first began. Basically, if it's something you really wanna do, just do it.
@Twilight_Crow: It's, it's.... Trollestia! O_o -bows fearfully before her awesome might- I'd like to check out that Trollestia story sometime. I love the idea of her reigning with tyranny. xD Oh, I almsot forgot... -ignores Twilight_Crow-
@SquiggleFace: At least you've got the skill where it counts. Being good in photoshop is useless without good sketch skills. (unless you're doing banners, lol) But thanks! I still have a ways to go though… ^^; Btw, have you ever read through Purple Keckleon's color theory deviation? It's been extremely helpful for all things color.
@Aqueous: Don't worry, I thought your sneak peak was great. Can't wait to see where this goes with Fluttershy...
@Big_Mac - Thank you, still I'm sure the fan's of her are either going to think I was overly cruel or think I should have done the opposite of what I had happen. Oh! You gave the character away, not that it matters, most of you I think have seen.

Big_Mac: How did you make the outline for Derpy? I usually have a very hard time making it. (If it is on photoshop then i'm doomed since i don't use Windows) Also, as a general rule, said outline begins thick at the hooves and mouth, and it gets thinner as it goes up. http://veggie55.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=48#/d3i0ggs
Edit: It was just a suggestion, i know you don't normally draw ponies.
@AlbertoC - Oh, I've been starting with the eyes, then going on to the head shape, mouth, nose, ear and hair in relation to the eyes. I'm going to keep with my method, it seems to be working
Guest on NFR 57: http://nintendofreeradio.podbean.com/category/episode-57/
@Aqueous: "overly cruel" you say? ...I think I'm going to enjoy this. ^^
@AlbertoC: I made the outline in photoshop using the vector "pen tool". ...But what do you mean, "doomed"? - I use photoshop on my MackBook and it works fine. (it's what I use for all my digital art) But yeah, I noticed that's generally how it goes with the outlines. I'm just experimenting a little.
"Bye squiggleTail. You were like an online pony father to me or something." - Retro-on-theGo
@AlbertoC - So is that your method too? Well, I'll have to surrender to that talent but I'm a traditional artist anyways, so I'll see what I can do colour wise come the end of the month or March.
@Big_Mac - Yeah, I'm feeling guilty over this one.

I feel obligated to tell you that I might be late coming onto the community tonight. Since you are all talking about drawing, VectorScape is good and even better when partnered with Gimp.
Since you are all talking about drawing, VectorScape is good and even better when partnered with Gimp.
Vetor Scape is a multi level space shooter with what I hope is a unique style to the graphics. The one failing that someone told me about it is the main craft of the player. People like to fly 'porches', not 'buicks'. I still like it. And with this said my friends, have fun! No, really, i found this searching in google...
@Aqueous, Okay, then. As for that drawing I owe you, I'll send it to you later, since I need to: 1. Take picture of it (I decided to draw it on paper, as opposed to Photoshop) 2. Upload it Photobucket 3. Email it to you.
@SquiggleTail - Got it I'll see it at 6pm then my time (AST). I think there is another 5-6 I got to finish first though but it will be nice to finish setting up the ending to them.
I'll be able to do a couple races, then I'll have to go and come back tonight, just so everypony knows. 2 of us are ready, despite being early. Sorry AlbertoC I left to see if we could add more
