@Pastellioli Cool, didn't know the movie was being used for memes now. That's great since I rarely see the movie brought up online, even with animation fans. Yeah, I keep forgetting YouTube's free with ads movies has a lot of good options and surprises when they appear. I was surprised to find Grease in it. Given how popular the movie was, you'd think it would be a purchased movie.

@Sunsy Yep, it’s everywhere now on social media and it makes me happy. We did have a Blu-Ray for the film but I don’t know if we still have it. I might put that on my watchlist for fun. The film was such good fun and I remember it so much, so it’s making me happy seeing clips from the film online.
Also, I watched The Matrix a few days ago and I did like it a lot! I’m thinking about it a ton now, since I watched it late in my comfy bed and didn’t finish around 1 am, though it’s also because my WiFi was lagging so badly during the remaining few minutes of the film. It was a pretty good sci-fi film, but you are right about it being a bit slow at the beginning. A lot of the cool action only kicks in maybe midway to the end. I want to see the sequels possibly but I heard they are worse than the first one. I was recommended to watch the first sequel and then stop there, but is it bad I still want to see the three sequels that come after it despite what people said about them? They are working on a fifth movie and I remember a lot of people were basically sighing and going “why?” which tells me that the series has gone downhill since then. I still wouldn’t mind giving the sequels a try, plus I’m not sure what to see next, but my brother saw the first sequel and he said he really didn’t like it.
@Pastellioli Indeed, especially since I never saw much talk about the movie. Nice I have the DVD of it, had it before I ever had a blu-ray player. Sounds like it's worth a re-watch.
Awesome, glad you like it. If you want to see the others, it's up to you. I think I only seen the second movie once due to a rental. I do have it on DVD too, I remember losing my copy of The Matrix while moving, so I decided to pick up the four pack (which includes the three movies and The Animatrix). Just haven't found the time to watch them.
Not movie related, there was the game Enter The Matrix. I have it for GameCube, and rented it on Xbox once when I had to send my GameCube to Nintendo for repairs. Not the greatest game, but still had fun with it.
Took my friend to see Despicable Me 4, we both enjoyed this movie. It was a lot of fun, and we got some good laughs out of it. My friend being into superheroes enjoyed the superhero references from the Mega Minions.
Good movie, also everyone in the theater applauded at the end. So that makes Trolls Band Together and Despicable Me 4 the only two movies I've been to where the audience applauded at the end.
Tagging @Zuljaras just to share my thoughts, I liked this one.

@Sunsy I’ve never been to a movie theater where so many people applaud or share a really positive reaction. The closest is when I saw Sonic 2 in theaters a few years ago, though most of the reactions were from excited little children. Despicable Me 4 must have been really good then!

@Pastellioli Yeah, I was really surprised when the audience applauded at Trolls. Two reasons, never been to a movie where people clapped at the end up until that point, secondly, I got to watch the movie with a bunch of Trolls fans. Felt like I was with others like me, I didn't feel alone liking Trolls.
I'm surprised with Despicable Me 4 getting applauded given a lot online hate the series. I didn't think I'd hear an applause at that movie, it's cool others liked it.
Surprisingly, no applause for Inside Out 2 when I went. That's ok, I still loved the movie.

@Sunsy well, it makes me glad to hear there was applause, cuz like you said, there is a lot of bad reception and hatred toward the later Despicable Me sequels. It’s nice that a lot of people enjoy the films! It’s been a while since I last watched a Despicable Me film though.

Saw Twisters in Imax last night. It wasn't one I was super excited for, but I ended up enjoying it quite a bit. Pretty good summer popcorn flick.
I would have liked for it to have had some sort of deeper connection to the original Twister though, as it pretty much had nothing to do with it outside of the theme. The new gen did have an old Dorothy device in like the first 10 minutes of the film, but it's not explained where they got it (no one seems to be descended from the OG cast), and it never appears again after the fact.
Otherwise, here are the movies I watched last weekend:
Ocean Waves (Blu-Ray) - Ghibli film that breaks away from their typical fantastical mold in favor of a more grounded drama/romance centered around a group of friends in high school. Could be a tad slow at times, but I actually really enjoyed it.
V for Vendetta (Blu-Ray) - Got this one thrifting. In spite of the effect it's had on pop culture, I actually hadn't seen it until now. It was pretty solid. Can't say it's something I'll be itching to watch again any time soon, but it was definitely an interesting watch.
Wonder Woman (Blu-Ray) - Another thrifting get, and another one (believe it or not) I haven't seen in full until now. Pretty excellent all around, from the effectively immersive world design to the action. I think it kinda mishandled it's big bad, but otherwise is pretty flawless. It's kinda wild how many times DC pretty much nailed that first film (MoS, WW, Shazam!, Aquaman), only to somehow completely fumble the followups.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
Wooo! Scored a pile today. Bought Abigail (Blu-ray/DVD combo), Anastasia ( & Bartok the Magnificent), & King Kong (1933) DVD. Later I'm getting The Return of Jafar/King of Thieves on Blu-ray & DVD Combo.
I'm giving the DVD versions to my brother since I got spare cases & he dosen't really care for Blu-ray anyways. Especially since I gave him my portable dvd player plus he likes Return of Jafar.
Also bought a Toshiba BDX2250KU blu-ray player & some S-Video cables for my JVC CRT SDTV & Magnavox HDTV. I would've pre-order Godzilla Minus One 4K & Blu-ray collectors set (only for the Blu-ray btw) from Toho's Godzilla Store online but it's $65 & I'm gonna pass. But they did mention that later editions will coming soon, so chances are that a Blu-ray/DVD combo or just a Bluray release for Minus One & -Minus One/color.

I've always loved stop-motion animation.
I watched it again recently and still find it impossibly entertaining.
And I always have to fight back tears at the end.
@MontyCircus I own quite a few stop-motion films on DVD:
Son of Kong
Nightmare Before Christmas
James & The Giant Peach
Coraline
Chicken Run (even though it's claymation but still stop motion regardless)
I always loved the charm & appeal that stop-motion films have. It makes me appreciate of how much work, time, & effort goes into making them. And even today they hold-up marvelously & well.

So...been checked out of Marvel since Endgame, save Spider-Man, Venom, DP3.
This reveal of the actor playing Dr. Doom?
No idea what to make of that at all...
Seems like something that would have been in Deadpool and Wolverine!
I don't know how to feel either. I got super excited when they revealed the actor but then I felt a little deflated. It feels like Marvel's becoming desperate to claw back superhero market share especially with a clean DC vision on the horizon and interest in the MCU in a record low (at least before Deadpool & Wolverine).
It can work though. Andy Serkis nailed it in Star Wars because his second role was a much more human, pathos-driven one. I'm reasonably optimistic.
@jedgamesguy Def. Does feel a bit clutching at straws. There has alway been a joke of there being a 'smash glass and press the RDJ button' with Marvel in recent years, that they would bring him back to save it.
Didn't expect as a different character!
As an actor, HE can make it work. More a question of can Marvel, in terms of a logical story.
Comic book movies fans really are the worst. Cool movie news gets announced and they start complaining about it the second they finish reading the headline.
Finished watching The Truman Show a few minutes ago. I had heard of it but never watched it, but the themes were so interesting, and I really liked the look and aesthetic of the film and the characters. Now I’m watching Mr. Peabody and Sherman, haven’t seen it in years, though I have seen clips of the film go viral on social media recently since it’s being used in a bunch of memes on Instagram, so seeing the original versions of some scenes that were used in memes seems very surreal without the editing and text.
Deadpool & Wolverine is the best movie I've seen in theatres since Barbie.
I tend to enjoy comedies over dramas...and I've seen all of (and enjoyed most of) the MCU movies. So your mileage may vary.
But it just had a $205 million opening weekend in U.S. & Canada, which breaks the all-time record for an R-rated movie (even if you adjust for inflation).
And by # of tickets sold is the #26 biggest opening weekend (of any rating) in North America of all-time.
It is the biggest opening weekend since Spider-Man: No Way Home, from 3 years ago.
